They looked at each other and Amara jumped down from his body, as she adjusted her dress.
They looked at the door warily.
" Come in." Conan said.
Roman came in. "Another maid says she's assigned here." He informed them wondering why Amara had been in there for long if it were only a drink she wanted to serve.
Conan was tying a towel and Amara looked away. She looked guilty. Wasn't he betrothed to Diana?
"Tell her to go back, I changed the roster.." Conan instructed.
Roman didn't believe the bull. But, he nodded anyway, taking a second look at Amara before leaving the room.
Amara felt weird. After coming down from the high of the kiss. She saw the disbelief in Roman's eyes. He thought she betrayed Diana.
"What do we do now?" She asked Conan.
Conan was surprised, he didn't care what the guard th
CONANFor two weeks, things had been going on well between Amara and I. I had just concluded a meeting, with Nolan. I sneaked to see him, disguising as a guard.Diana intercepted me on my way to my room. The witch knew I paid her no mind at all.She must have been waiting for long.Ever since that stunt she pulled the other day, I didn't want anything to do with her." Good evening, Conan." She greeted." What do you have to say?" I asked." That's quite harsh to say to your betrothed." She said." Wow, that's such a shame." I replied." I know you've been going to see Amara." She said. That made me stiffen a little. I called her bluff." I find it hard to believe that you've not reported me to the Baroness. How generous of you." I said. That's what she was known for." That's because I want to make a proposition." She said. " Let's hear it." I said." I need you to marry me in paper and have Amara as your concubine." She said.I doubled in laughter. She was a clown. Marry her? She
AUTHORIt was after 6 months, that Nancy was finally able to sneak in to see Nolan. She was able to do that with the help of Micheal, the guard that loved Amara. He distracted the other guards, and this gave her the opportunity to enter. When she arrived at Nolan's cell, she almost wept. He had become a shadow of himself. His beards had started growing rapidly, filling his face. There was a crazy look in his eyes. She sincerely hoped her worst fear had not become a reality." How are you doing Nolan?" She asked skipping all formalities.Nolan cocked his head and stared at her." I'm great." His voice gruff from atrophy." I sent you a letter." She continued. He looked as of he wasn't seeing her.*'May he not be going senile.'* She prayed with everything she had." Yes." He said after a while. Why was he taking time to respond."So..." She trailed off. He stared at her blankly." You promised to tell me Anita's secrets." She whisper yelled, cautious of eavesdroppers." Did I?" He ask
Anita looked angry. " Where is my necklace?" She asked.Amara feigned innocence, " I don't know where it is ma'am." She answered." You cleaned the room last, how come it disappeared?" Anita asked furious at Amara's attempt at lying. That necklace was very important to her. She kept it in Conan's room, because she knew it was safer there. " Don't test me." She threatened. Meanwhile, Amara wondered why she was just looking for this necklace now.Something must be important about it, and she intended to discover it." I'm truly not a thief ma." She cried bring out the great waterworks.Anita wasn't a sucker for tears. It was a destructive weapon. Many liars employed this tactic." Take her to the dungeon." Anita ordered." I'm sorry, your highness, why don't you inspect the room again?" " Are you saying that they were lying?" Anita wondered."Please check again." Diana pleaded. " Go back and check." Anita ordered the guards, waiting for it to be a mode of distraction. She was so go
AMARAI snuck to see Roman, his wounds needed to be tended to. He was really brave to endure the beating. If it were another, he'd have broken." Hi, Roman." I whispered, watching as he groaned when he attempted to sit upright." Amara." He whispered." I'm sorry about this." I apologize. " How did you manage to come here?" He asked." Micheal." I pointed the lamp in his direction, and unlocked the door. I washed the wounds with antiseptic, he groaned at the impact.I could only imagine the pain he was going through.I moved on to rub the balm on his back. The healer took a liking to Sylvia, and since then, she had been helping us. She helped Nolan get better too.He groaned, loudly. I stopped as I heard a footstep approaching. I switched off the lamp.Micheal said he has distracted everyone. It was dark. My heart panted. If I was caught, it would be brutal.Anita would do worse than what happened to Roman. This was big trouble. Shockingly, it was Conan. I heaved a sigh of relief."
AUTHORThe room was brown walled, no too much decoration, very simple. It had a soothing aura. Diana supposed it was either because she was here for the first time, or because it was a healer's house. There were too many bottles in the room, and Diana wondered the use of all of them. From where she sat, her eyes caught a shiny object wedged between the door.Curiosity led her towards it. Behold, it was a chain, emitting heat.'How is that even possible?' She reached for it, and it moved. She reached for it again, and it moved. Her hands almost touched it, and it slid under the door. That was weird. She reached for it the third time and it wedged itself in between the crack in the door."Good morning your highness." The healer. Her back stiffened. A blush formed on her face, as she stood up awkwardly." Morning." She replied. The healer's face betrayed no emotion. But she felt that she was laughing at her." I have a complain." Diana started.Diana looked distraught. " Please have your
AUTHOR'S POVConan extricated himself from Diana's arms. There was nothing to say anymore since Amara left. " I'd like to spend the night here."His head swung up, and saw Diana stretching on his chair, reluctant to leave. That equated to having sex with her. He couldn't do that to Amara. He thought about Amara everytime he kissed Diana." I have some work to do." He refused. That excuse was getting old and annoying. For over six months, it had been one excuse or the other. The potion was said to make her irresistible, and it didn't work. She took it in the morning. It needed to circulate in her system." I'll wait." She declared, and she moved to his bed, stretching languidly like a cat.Conan shook his head. It was going to be a hectic day.As he flipped the pages, his eyes caught a circled word *LEVY*He went back to it, and saw that last month a pack received levy twice. The Blood Moon pack.He wasn't aware of any levy. He flipped back to the previous month. It was marked paid
CONANRocky and I came to a mutual understanding. There was no bad blood whatsoever between us anymore. We arrived at the pack at the wee hours in the morning. I guess it was 4am or thereabout. My watch was still dripping from the rain, and it was unreliable.Hopefully, Diana would have exited the room before I got back." Where are you coming from?" She enquired, and I winced at her loud voice. " Went to check out something." I explained." That's why you had to visit Amara." She accused.I sighed and shook my head at her ridiculous accusation. I went to my closet, went to take and bath and change my cloth in the bathroom. Was she blind not to see that I was drenched? Drama was the last agenda on my mind.Walking towards the door, with that thought in mind." You know it's true, that's why you're leaving. Coward, and cheat!" " Go like you always do. You abandoned Amara in the first place. What do I expect?" She said spitefully, immediately I got to the door.I stiffened, and It
Amara's POVI resumed my chore at Diana's room. Luckily, she was not in the room when I got there. I was late to get there, so I made sure that I cleaned as fast as I could, to make sure that she didn't get that I was late. I was cleaning the windows when Diana walked in. Her profile hostile but I greeted her, which she hissed in return.I paid her no mind, because i wasn't the cause of her predicament. "Get me a glass of water." She ordered. I returned hastily with one, which she didn't sip.I was almost done with my chores when she poured the glass of water on the floor.I had gotten better at controlling my anger. She wanted me to react, and I had grown past that." I'm sorry, your highness." I apologized, as i moved to the puddle of water, and cleaned it quietly.I smiled inwardly at the perplexed look on her face. She wasn't expecting that. If Anita learnt that a legend lived in me, she would kill me off, immediately. Literally. A web of lies would be spun around and I woul
