Sixty Seven

Jill’s POV

I was so hungry. I usually like to savour the steak when Chad takes me out, but not today I demolished it I soon realised that my plate was empty. I looked up at Chad and gave him a sheepish smile “Sorry, I was starving all of a sudden”

“It will have been a mix of the adrenaline, the fight, and the training from this morning. Your body needed to refuel. It was nice to see you enjoying your food. Do you want the cheesecake to have here or take home?”

“I think I would like to have some here and then we can have another to take home” I felt genuine happiness for the first time in along time. I also still felt super hungry, and I wanted to have more cheesecake to eat at home in case I felt like a snack.

Chad called over the waiter and I had to hide my smile as the poor boy looked terrified

“I think that I may have to give him a good tip when we leave”

“I think so, I might have scared the poor boy” I could not help the laugh that escaped

I saw Chad pull a note out of his wallet
