One Hundred and Eighty Two

Jill’s POV

As soon as we arrived outside one of the houses that I wanted to look at I noticed Brian’s face change and I knew that he was mind-linking someone. I looked up at James who just shrugged his shoulders at me. I hated the feeling of hope I felt that Chad might be reaching out for help. The mind-link only lasted a few seconds and for a split second I saw a look of panic cross his face. He tried to mask it quickly, but he was not quick enough. “Did he mind-link you?”

“He did but she must have caught him as the link ended suddenly”

“She will make sure to increase her power and keep him close then” My heart broke, she would make sure that he was not able to mind-link again. I was shocked that he had managed it in the first place.
