"Mommy do I have to wear this?" I asked as she brushed my hair up into a dancer bun. I was sitting on her lap in a pale pink dress with white tights and pale pink flats. She wore a matching dress with matching heels.
"Yes darling we're going to go see mommys best friend, we haven't been able to see each other since you were born. It's her birthday today so I want to show off just how beautiful my one and only is." She said fastening pearl hair clips to the bun.
"But mommy why can't I wear pants like daddy?" I asked pointing to my father who stood in the door way wearing a black suit.
"Because darling it's not proper for little girls to wear suits. Besides you match me doesn't that make you feel a little better." I pouted.
"No I want to match daddy too." My father laughed and sat next to my mom. My mom sighed and handed me to my father.
"She's without a doubt your daughter." My mother said shaking her head.
"She may get her stubborn nature from me but she has your beauty my love." My father said giving me a hug. My mom chuckled.
"Fair enough. For a three year old though she certainly is a fiery one." My dad nodded.
"Princess how about we go to the bathroom one more time before we make the long drive to go see mommys best friend?" I didn't have to go but I nodded. "Besides mommy spent so much time making you look like a princess that she has to finish getting herself ready." I looked at my mother.
"But daddy mommy already looks like a beautiful princess." My mother kissed my forehead.
"Thank you baby but daddy is right I still have a few things I wanted to do before we leave. So go ahead go with daddy. Robert I'll meet you two in the car ok?" My father nodded and took me into their bathroom. He set me down and I looked at him.
"Daddy don't look!" I pouted at him. He smiled and shook his head but turned around. I went to the little potty my parents had for me that seemed to be nothing more then some kind of plastic and did exactly what my mother had taught me. When I finnished I went to the sink and my father picked me up so I could wash my hands like I had been tought to. My father sat me back on the floor and took care of my little toilet then washed his hands too.
"Alright princess lets go." My dad picked me back up and we walked back out into my parents room. My mom was still getting ready so my dad and I just headed downstairs to the garage where his car was already running. He fastened me into my car seat in the back seat and smiled. "There we go all safe and secure now we just gotta wait for mom." I nodded and my dad shut the door and climbed into the drivers seat after walking around the back of the car. We weren't waiting very long before my mother apeared and climbed into the car as well.
About five minuets into the car ride I dozed off. As I slept I dreamt I was home with my mom and dad running around in pants in my moms garden. When my parents woke me up we were just coming into a community that looked similar to ours. I stared out my window intently hoping to see someone but I didn't see anyone. As we pulled up to a huge house that looked like the ski lodge my parents had taken me to this past winter I started to see other people out and about. My dad parked and my mom got me out of my car seat and we headed inside.
As we pushed through the small crowd of people in the main hall most people paid us no mind. Everynow and then though people would look at us and bow their head in respect to my father. I didn't quite understand it but I was used to people doing it. I smiled at the few people who looked at me and my mother and a few of them smiled back. We entered one of the side rooms and my mom rushed up to a woman giving her a huge hug as best she could while holding me.
"Jinelle I can't believe you're here!" The woman said pulling away from my mom. She was beautiful and had a radiant smile like my mom.
"I know Lilly I'm so sorry we haven't visited sooner, I've just started my own business and it's just been chaotic." The other woman laughed.
"Jinelle it's fine we've both been busy. I'm just so happy to see you. How have you been though?" My father came up to us and wraped an arm around my mothers waist.
"Lilly happy birthday." My father said smiling at my mothers friend.
"Thank you. Oh if you're looking for my Kevin he's outside with Dominic and Andrew, they should be in shortly though. Kevin said something about trying to plan a surprise for me."
"Alright I'll go say hello." My father kissed my mothers forehead then headed off back into the crowd.
"Only Dominic and Andrew are outside? Where's Gregory?" My mom asked looking around.
"Oh he's with his grandfather in the banquet hall setting some stuff up. He's always trying to help everyone. He's going to make an amazing Alpha one day." My mom sighed.
"I don't know how that's going to go with having three sons Lilly. I told you that you should of had a girl." The other woman rolled her beautiful jade green eyes at my mother.
"As if I had a choice on what gender my children were born. Besides so far only Gregory has expressed his desire to one day be Alpha. Andrew and Dominic seem to have their minds and hearts set on other things. I honestly don't believe they'll challenge their older brother for the right to be Alpha unless Gregory isn't doing anything right. Still I do wish I had a daughter. Kaydence looks so cute in her matching dress." I pouted.
"Yes but my little princess here is temptermental and wishes she were in pants and not a dress at the moment." The other woman started to chuckle.
"So she's like her mother."
"Very much so but she has some of her fathers personality and looks as well. I'd like to believe she's the best of both of us. I'm glad that your boys aren't planing to fight over who will be Alpha. Then again their still pretty young. If memory serves correct Dominic is six, Andrew is eight and Gregory is ten now correct?" My mothers friend nodded.
"Yes. I know their still young but I honestly don't see them fighting about it all too much in the future. How about you are you and Robert trying for another?" I looked up at my mom. Did they want another baby?
"We are but if it doesn't happen we wont be too upset. We have Kaydence and we're happy even if we don't have more." My mothers friend nodded.
"Oh here come my boys now." A man and my father walked into the room with three young boys trailing behind them. The youngest looked at me and smiled. He had golden brown eyes which I had never seen before and was completely captivated by.My mom put me down as my father got closer and I clung to her dress as she enveloped each of the three boys into a hug.
"It's been three years since I've seen my nephews how are you?" She said as she hugged the youngest.
"I've been good aunt Jinny I have all my adult teeth already!" The oldest boy said giving my mom a huge smile. She chuckled.
"I see, well done Gregory i'm so proud of you. How about you Andrew?" The younger brother looked at his older brother.
"I've been good as well aunt Jinny I've been top of my class all year for the past three years." He said very proudly.
"Well done! You have your mothers brain without a doubt. Keep up the good work and there will be nothing you can't achieve. Dominic how about you?" My mom asked the youngest.
"I'm doing good Aunt Jinny I can tie my own shoes and make macaroni and cheese now." My mother giggled.
"That's wonderful. You all are doing so well and have grown so much. I am so proud of all of you." My mother gave each of them another hug.
"Aunt Jinny who's that?" The youngest boy asked pointing to me. I hid behind my mother. My mother turned and smiled at me. She took me by the hand and stepped behind me so that I was face to face with the three of them.
"Boys I know it's been a while since you've seen her but this is my daughter Kaydence." The oldest boy and the middle child instantly wrapped me in a hug. I froze I didn't know what to do or what to expect really.
"Hi Kaydence I'm Gregory and theese are my brothers Andrew and Dominic. You probably dont remember us but we visited you, aunt Jinny and uncle Rob right after you were born." I looked up at my mom.
"Mommy are these my cousins?" Gregory looked a little sad that I didn't even respond to him.
"No sweetie we are not related. Their mother Lilly is a very old friend of mine. I've known her since I was about your age. We came from the same pack but have kept in touch over the years and continued to have a friendship after all this time." I nodded.
"It's nice to meet you." I said giving a small curtsy to the three boys. When I looked up the youngest one was staring at me intently. It made me a little uneasy.
"It's not nice to stare." I finally said after a few moments. The boy looked away and a small blush crept to his cheeks. I heard my mother and Lilly whisper something between the two of them but I wasn't sure what they were saying.
"Sorry." He muttered.
"Don't be so shy Dom jeez you're never going to find your mate when you're eighteen if you keep creeping out all the girls." Mate?
"Shut up Greg." Dominic mumbled. He turned and walked away and his two brothers chased after him. I looked up at my mom and dad and my dad picked me up.
"Daddy what's a mate?" My parents and their friends chuckled.
"Sweetie a mate is your destined partner given to us by the moon goddess. Your mother and I are mates as well as husband and wife. Everyone has a mate and when you're eighteen not only does your wolf awaken but you are of age to find your mate. Sometimes they're in the same pack as you other times like with me and your mom they're in a different pack but the moon goddess always makes sure you find them."
"So one day I'll meet mine?" My father nodded. The three boys came back in and my father placed me down again at my request.
The boys found some other children that were here with their parents and suggested we played hide and seek. The only rules were we couldn't go outside or on any other floor just so that there were plentyu of adults near by to watch us. We played for hours before our parents found us so that we could eat.
At the end of the night my parents had to carry me to the car since I had used up all my energy chasing the three boys around their pack house. It had been a lot of fun for me especially being able to chase the boy with the pretty golden brown eyes. Something about him interested me more then his brothers but I didn't quite understand what. When I saw him again, if I saw him again I would do my best to figure it out.
I woke about an hour later to Amelia calling my name and gently nudging me. I groaned at her and she practically started shaking me so hard that I could of easily fallen out the bed. Or maybe it just felt like that since my limbs felt so heavy. I stuck my tongue out at her and opened my eyes. She smiled down at me and motioned for me to move over so she could sit down next to me. I did and pinched her at the same time. She rolled her eyes at me. "Come on time to get up girl. We gotta get your shit organized somewhat. Dom told me he was gonna take you out once he was done training and he should be done by the time we're done with that." I groaned. "I am so comfortable though." Amelia laughed. "I know girl and I promise I will let you sleep in tomorrow but we got a lot to do today girl plus I went through all the trouble to hunt down the kitchen, get you a coffee the way you like it and I got something
Amelia helped me quickly get dress and throw my hair up into a messy bun since my hair was a bit hard to manage today. I applied light makeup then when I decided I didn't look like a hot mess we set off to find where Dominic had gone. I made the attempt to follow his scent but Zariah still wasn't back to full strength just yet. Was that why I had scars now? Granted scars were not uncommon for werewolves to have but normally we didn't get ones as bad as the one on my back now. We healed quickly sure but deep enough wounds still left a mark like with anyone. It didn't take us long though before we heard a crashing noise down the hall and saw two wolves slowly backing out of a room further down the hall. The one looked at us and shook his head as him and the other wolf left. I could hear Dominics voice and looked at Amelia. She nodded in a silent agreement to let me handle this. We approached the door and I peeked in and saw Xander and Rowan at
By the time we made it to the mall it was close to lunch time, despite stopping and getting better coffee like Dominic had promised I was starting to feel hungry. I didn't voice it though because I was pretty sure I was the only one who was. Dominic still lead us to the food court as if he knew I was hungry. Amelia and I smiled as we found seats and Dominic and Xander went and got food for everyone. I looked around impressed by the sheer size of the food court. The mall closest to Deepridge wasn't even this big. "They have so many options here. I am def bringing Kyle here next time we come because I know that man wo uld be impressed by just the food court alone." Amelia said with a giggle. "The way to that mans heart always was food." I say jokingly while watching Dominic and Xander stand in line at a cheesesteak place. I couldn't remember the last time I had one. It wasn't until they were ordering their food that I not
By the time Amelia decided we were done I had several pairs of both practical and not so practical bras and panties and several things of lingerie that she insisted Dominic would love seeing me in. Although I didn't doubt her all I could picture was how Elstan had reacted the one time I had worn lingerie for him, because of his utter disgust and negative reaction I had not worn a thong or lingerie since then. I wasn't even sure how to act sexy or tease my mate anymore. I had to shake my thoughts out of my head. Dominic was in no way shape or form anything like Elstan. I took Amelias phone as she headed to the register since I really didn't want to see that total. I called Dominic and he answered on the second ring. "Girls done already?" "It was torture." I mumbled. He chuckled on the other end. "I bet angel. Xander and I are still preoccupied do you guys feel safe going to the next store o
"Kay hurry up!" My best friend shouted outside my door. I rolled my eyes. "Go away I told you I'm not coming down. I don't want to see that jerk!" Amelia sighed from the other side of the door. "Your mom and dad really want you to come down though and Dominic and his family traveled kinda far to come today." I groaned. "I don't care he's been so rude to me lately I just cant stand it. I can't believe I had a crush on that butt head." Amelia giggled. "Oh come on Kay Dominics not so bad." "Yes he is! He never wants to play any games right. He always insists on being married to you or something when we try to play house. I try so hard to be nice to him but he's so mean to me!" I heard my best friend sigh from the other side of the door. "Ever stop to think maybe he does that because he really likes you?" She said.
When we got back to the pack house we were all fairly tired from our trip. Dominic texted someone and just explained a couple of his warriors would come get our things and just leave them outside of our room for now he just wanted to take a nap with me. I nodded and said good by to Amelia and Xander and thanked them for coming with us again. They both just gave a small nod as we went seperate ways. Once snuggled safely and comfortably in bed next to Dominic he started to play with my hair and I smiled at him. We had some lights on so it wasn't completely dark but the low lighting made his golden eyes seem to glow and I was mesmerized yet again by them. He rolled onto his back after a few moments and let a sigh escape from him. I propped myself up on my elbow and looked at him with my head slightly tilted. He turned his head to me and smiled. "Angel although I don't want to ask I know I gotta. Sit up for me wth your
By the time I woke up Dominic was already gone. My guess was to go for morning training. I couldn't blame him. He was probably conflicted in emotions over what I had told him last night. He was probably equal parts angry at Elstan for what I had suffered through and hurt that I had suffered so much and no one had realized it or stopped it. I didn't blame him for how he probably was feeling. I noticed the bags from yesterday neatly arranged by my closet door. I got out of bed with a smile on my face for the first time in a while. I was eager to put the clothes away and just pick out a nice casual outfit for today. It also meant I finally had clean undergarments and that made me crave a shower more then anything. I quickly unpacked everything and hung it or folded it and put it away, everything still had the tags on it mostly because I just didn't feel like taking them off right now. I picked out a nice powder blue knitted
I awoke early, well before Doms alarm even went off. I slid out of bed and into my closet to grab a work out outfit i had bought with some clean underclothing and socks and shoes. I slipped quietly back through the room and into the bathroom to dress, brush my teeth and pull my hair up. I put my clothes in the hamper that I had begged Dominic to put in there out of convinience and then slipped back into our room to grab my phone and air pods. I left him a note saying I went for my early morning jog and I would be at the training grounds before him. I slipped out of our bedroom only to see Amelia standing there smiling while holding two cups of coffee for us. I smiled at her and just tilted my head towards the stairs. When we were outside I looked to make sure no one was around before I turned to her and placed a hand on my hip with a questioning look. I was greatful to my best friend as always but I knew she wasnt exactly a morning person. An
Hey everyone Thank you so much for reading book two in the surviving my fate series. I am currently working on book three Surviving My Blood as well as some other books in the series. Surviving my blood will start having chapters posted on a weekly basis and the first chapter is already up. It will also be the final book in Kaydence and Dominics story as the other books will focus on the other Allied Alphas and them finding their mates. I am also working on book two to For the Love of Death which I have titled For the Children of Death and that will also have weekly chapters posted. I am also planning to work on a murder myster novel that my grandmother inspired me to write which is called Murder in bloom. The next book I will also be posting weekly chapters for is called The vampires Kiss and is a version of the first vampire book I wrote for a creative writing class in highschool. The final book I am working on is actually the first werewolf book I ever wrote and i'm deciding to
I stood there debating on what to do for a moment. Elstan didn't budge, but the wolf to his right waved his arm above his head, almost like he was waving at me, and more wolves that I hadn't noticed before stepped forward. I didn't recognize most, if any of the wolves that were there. Was it possible they were all rogues? How many had he taken in? I tried not to think about it and tried to just keep my head and mind clear. That was my best bet right now. I took a few deep breaths to calm myself. "I had a feeling that once you figured out that Alpha Larson betrayed your little secret to me you guys would plan to attack as soon as possible. I had a feeling today would be the day. Glad to see you're as predictable as ever Kaydence. So let me tell you how this is gonna go. You have two options. Leave now and I will let you, Dominic and the wolves of Pale Crest walk away unharmed. Option two we fight it out, I kill you and force D
The next morning we were all up early. I threw on a pair of yoga pants and a tank top that I didn't care much about, not even bothering with a bra or panties since I was most likely going to be fighting in wolf form a good portion of the time. I had a spare pair of clothes I was going to store in the bus Dominic, myself and a few others would be riding in. We had agreed that instead of stripping down to shift like we usually would we would just bring extra clothes to save time and not leave as much evidence. I had tried shifting with clothes on before and I remembered destroying them. Dominic and I headed to breakfast together. We had notified the kitchen staff about an early breakfast the night before for todays battle and thankfully there was muffins, fruit and cups of coffee and juice all to go. By five everyone was on the training grounds and ready to go. No body said anything and the tension in the air was so thick it was pract
I stood looking at the twenty wolves that were in my squad. Most were pack members since Dominic thought that would be best but I had two that were not in Pale crest pack. It was of course Alpha Blaine and Alpha Avery who insisted I take two of their better warriors. I didn't understand at first, but when Dominic explained they were just worried about me and wanted to make sure I would be able to get to Elstan I understoodazx hvff. There was only two girls on my squad which I thought was a bit sexist but I didn't argue with Dominic. I knew he just wanted to make sure I would be safe since none of us knew what would happen tomorrow. "Alright everyone listen up." Everyone looked at me and I almost shrank away before reminding myself of what I was doing and why it had to be done. I wasn't sire why i felt so uneasy all of a sudden. "Does everyone know our squads duty?" I asked making sure everyone had been able to hear Dominic a litle while ago. "Protect Pale Crests Luna whil
I sat on the edge of mine and Dominics bed holding the only photo of Elstan and I that I still had. We looked so happy and so in love in the photo. I couldn't figure it out, but for whatever reason I just couldn't destroy it. I still hated him, but I hadn't always and I knew that. Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder how things would be if he had been different. I was struggling mentally knowing that in two days I would be killing my first mate if he refused to back down. True he had put our pack through hell and he had destroyed everything, but even then I couldn't fully hate him and I didn't understand it. "Are you ok?" Dominic asked sitting next to me and pulling me into him. I shook my head. "Honestly I don't know any more." Dominic looked at the picture and smiled. "You look beautiful in this photo angel." He said playing with a strand of my hair. "This was right before he started trying to control how I dressed." "Kay i'm not mad you still have this,
This summary is for those who didn't want to read chapter twenty nine due to some of the possible triggers in it. To sum it up in the chapter it talks about Laina meeting and being given to Elstan on her fourteenth birthday. Her father is forced out of her life after treating her poorely and abusing her. Laina realizes fairly quickly what kind of man Elstan is but is now stuck in the situation. You also read about Elstan being given the vial of the stimulant he used to over power Kaydence in the first book. Although I don't name the character it is from the Elder who was there for the challenge. Again thank you for all your support guys. -Mavis Belladonna.
I snuggled deeper into the musty blanket, it was so cold. Being a rouge wolf sucked. The places we stayed in, mostly caves, were never warm. I never had warm clean clothes or blankets either. However I could remember a time when I had warm clothes, food, blankets, hell even warm baths. That had been so long ago though. It hurt sometimes to remember those things. Everything felt like yesterday to me sometimes even though I had been considered a rouge wolf for a long time now. A part of me didn't even remember what living in a pack was like anymore, but I had a few memories of it. My favorite of course being around other wolves my age. There were a few children here and there, but we didn't stay with any rouge group for long. I just wanted to stay in the same spot for a couple of years. Was that too much to ask for? I also wanted to go to school like other kids we often saw, but being a rouge and not belonging anywhere made that practically impossible. Of course if I tried to ta
The next chapter in this book is about Laina and some of her hardships. It talks about child abuse, alcoholism, pedophilia, rape and several other situations that may be triggering. Please know these characters are not based off of any one I personally know. The situation may be similar to things people face in real life, but they are not based off of any real life experience. That being said I do not condone any of these behaviors or the endagerment of a minor in anyway shape or form. This chapter purely exists to give some light to Laina Forcine and why she is the way she is and how she came to be with Elstan. The chapter is not essential to the story so feel free to skip it if you don't think you'll be able to handle the chapter. I do appologize if this upsets anyone, but it is a bit crucial to understanding some of what happened prior to Elstan challenging Kaydence for the Role of alpha in the first book and does explain some things that haven't been explained yet. There will be an
Dominic and I were the first back in the conference room after lunch. I had wanted to bring bottles of water and some snacks up here because I had a sinking feeling we wouldn't be done before dinner or if we were we would have to reconvene after dinner. Dominic had told me he doubted it but it would still be nice to have snacks and drinks. Especially the drinks since we all talked a lot durring the meetings. I wanted to point out not all of us were windbags like some people, but decided to be nice and just agree with him. I could tell he wasn't exactly in the mood for my sarcasm at the moment. I couldn't blame him really, especially since my sarcasm was just my way of hiding that something was bothering me. After a while everyone came back into the conference room. Amelia and Kyle were the only ones who didn't genuinely seem bothered still by what we had learned this morning. It took me a second to realize that Amelia was carrying a couple of pictures in her hand. She sat do
