Chapter two

     "Fuck!" I shouted as I accidentally nocked over my coffee. I quickly moved my laptop out of harms way and started to wipe up the coffee with some napkins i kept int one of the desk drawers. "Ugh just my fucking luck." I said as I stood and look at my green dress now wet with coffee.

    "Uhm bad time?" I looked up to see Emron standing in the door way looking at me confused. I sigh.

    "Could be worse." I say with a shrug.

    "How so?" He says shutting the door behind him.

    "Could of walked on me getting laid." He chuckled at that.

    "Yeah that would be worse. You wanted to see me though?" I nodded.

    "This saturday I will be apointing you my Beta. Lucas and Dirge have put in official requests to retire so I will be officially oppointing you and Kyle to take their places." I watch him cross his arms and give me a skeptical look.

    "Which Kyle?" I look at him confused for a moment. Fuck what was Kyles last name?

    "The one mated to my best friend Amelia." His face softens.

    "Sounds good then." I look at him confused.

    "Why did you ask which Kyle though?" He shrugs.

    "No reason really. Thought you were gonna pick one of the other Kyle's." I shake my head.

    "No the other two annoy the ever living shit out of me. But as much as I'd love to discuss the details for Saturday more I need to go change." Emron nodded and left me alone. I sighed and left my office making sure to lock it before heading back to my room. Despite being Alpha now I still used my old bedroom. As I passed my mom and dads old room, the bedroom reserved for the alpha and Luna, I couldn't resist the urge. I unlocked the door after making sure no one was around to disturb me and slipped inside. 

    I only allowed the cleaners in here to keep it dust free and what not, otherwise no one was allowed in here besides me. I stripped off the dress so I wouldn't get my parents bed wet and laid down. I could still smell them so clearly. I missed them so much. My father had been an amazing man and Alpha. He was loved by everyone and did everything he could so that not only my mother and I could have good lives but the whole pack as well. 

    After laying there for a few moments I forced myself off the bed and put my dress back on. I walked into my mothers closet and found her dress from her luna ceremony. We had once hoped I would wear it but now that I was the alpha I could only become luna if I mated. I doubt that would happen though. It had been eight years since I rejected my mate and I hadn't been given a second chance mate as far as I knew. If I did take a mate though he would assume the role of alpha and I of luna. As selfish as it sounded I liked being the alpha I didn't want to hand it over to some man.

    I inhaled my mothers scent deeply before leaving her closet. Her scent always made me feel loved and valued. I crossed the room to my fathers closet and walked in. I took a deep breath and smiled. His scent always made me feel safe and like nothing could ever hurt me. I missed them more and more every day. My parents had been my everything. They had supported me when I had rejected my mate. They had helped me through the pain and helped me become stronger.

     "I miss them too babe. It's no use dwelling on it though. We got a lot to do before Saturday and unfortunately Elstan comes home from college this weekend you need to prepare yourself." My wolfs voice startled me out of my thoughts.

    "Zariah what do you mean prepare myself? We rejected him remember?"

    "I know girl and it was the right choice he was an ass hole to you but girl the pull is still going to be there. Plus I know your guys' history remember? It's been six years since we last seen him we gotta mentally prepare for him." I sighed she was right.

    "What if I can't resist Zariah?"

    "Dont worry babe I'll get you through it. We're a team remember? Plus do you really think Amelia and Sage or Kyle and Collin would let him near you?" Sage was Amelias wolf and ironically Zariahs best friend as well. Collin was Kyle's wolf and protected Zariah and I like a big brother would.

    "Thanks Zariah. I don't know what I would do without you, Amelia and Kyle by my side."

    "Remember we are stronger together." I felt Zariah go silent again and decided I had spent enough time here. I left my parents room and locked the door again before heading to my room to change. There were only three floors in the pack house, the top floor was reserved for the alpha and their family as well as the offices for the luna and alpha and a few guest rooms. The second floor was reserved for the beta and their family as well as more guest rooms. Lucas' children were off at college now so he no longer occupied the second floor, him and his wife had bought a house not too far from the pack house though. The ground floor had a huge recreational room with games and what not, the kitchen, the big dinning hall which we didn't use often, the unmated warriors rooms and some extra storage rooms. The basement housed the laundry room,more storage, more undated warriors quarters and their showers.

    The pack house omegas had their own houses near by, my pack never had strict rules about who lived in the pack house and who didn't. As I walked into my room I felt a weird shift in energy. I brushed it off and proceeded to change my dress before leaving, locking the door and returning to my office. I was very big on privacy and didn't want anyone in my rooms without my consent. The house keepers had a key to my rooms and instructions on when to and not to clean. I wasnt strict about it I just liked my sleep and privacy. Of course Amelia had a key to everything but my parents room as well.

    Once back in my office I resumed what I had been working on. I couldn't belive it had already been a day since Amelia and I had talked about who I should appoint as my beta and gamma. Kyle had called last night accepting it. Amelia hadn't been able to keep her mouth shut. Oh well it had saved me a phone call. Today though was different. A part of me just felt off, I couldn't describe it. A part of me thought back to Zariahs' words though, I needed to prepare myself. I still wasn't sure what she had meant but it made me think back to everything Elstan and I had been through.
