She wiped her face and rubbed her finger into her ears just to be sure she wasn't daydreaming. It was certain that the man standing before her was a beta, but to a king whom she doesn't know exists.
"Did you just say…"
"You'll only get the remedy to your brother's sickness if you accept to get married to him. It's a deal and must be done." The Beta stated to her hearing again, cutting short her sentence.
She took a deep breath, revealing how frustrating the deal happens to be to her. She wasn't planning to get married at the moment, nor did she hope to leave the Lycan's pack alive as a werewolf that she was.
"Can I see him? I need to see what he looks like." Those sentences popped out of her throat as her gaze focused on the beta.
He shook his head, "It's impossible, you'll only see him after you're married to him."
"I can't get married to a stranger." She snapped, scratching her head.
"Then your brother will die with the disease and you'll be blamed for not saving him when you found the opportunity." The Beta blurted and stamped his staff on the floor. "I'll be going now."
"No! Not yet!!" She gasped, breathing heavily. "I'll…I'll get married to him no matter what he looks like."
The beta smiled at her decision.
"But, can I have a little portion of the medicine? My brother needs to survive while I get married to him." She pleaded to him.
The beta nodded, "You'll have to wait here while I get it."
She acceded to it and watched the beta leave back to their pack in order to get the medicine for her.
Her name is Lilith Patrick, a rogue from the shadow moon pack. Her parents had died in a war between them and a neighboring pack, leaving her with her brother, Theo Patrick, to fend for themselves.
Theo was stuck with an incurable disease after being entangled in the witch's world, and if he isn't taken care of, he might give up the ghost anytime.
Lilith ran helter-skelter in search of the remedy to his brother's sickness but couldn't get any until she found herself in the Red lily pack.
This pack was made up of Lycans and was out of bound to werewolves like Lilith, but she took the risk and went further only for her to get a remedy that came with a condition.
Although she was expecting the lycans to devour her, she was given the condition of marrying whom she doesn't know.
She would do anything to save her brother, so she had to give into the marriage without contemplating so much.
After several minutes of waiting for the beta, he finally arrived with a little portion of the medicine and handed it over to her.
"Make sure you return back here tomorrow, don't wait for the guards to fetch you." The Beta ordered her.
She nodded and bowed down to him in appreciation, then headed back to go meet her dying brother.
Theo was almost halfway to death when Lilith arrived with the medicine, she forced it into her mouth and he had no other choice than to swallow it.
"Be strong for me, okay, you'll survive this." She whispered to his ear, but he didn't make a move at all.
His eyes were closed and his skin pale on the dry leaves.
She sat beside him for a while after which she decided to go prepare something for themselves.
While cooking, her mind wasn't at peace, she recalled the incident that took away her parents, and the hell she has been passing through with her brother from that day.
And now, she will be going into another hell all in the name of marriage.
A loud scream escaped her throat as she gripped her forehead with her two palms.
"I just hope I won't end up dying because I'm a werewolf and they are Lycans." She shook her head. "No matter what it is that makes him need a wife desperately, I pray that he won't kill me."
Hot ball of tears rolled down her cheek and she wiped them off with the tip of her torn dirty gown.
She stood up in order to take the pot in, when a sound struck her ears. She bent down to see the money that fell off her cloth.
She bent down and picked them up, then had it into her pocket again. "I'll use you for a drink tonight." She muttered to herself while going in.
Hours later…
It was already late at night, but Lilith was sunk in thought, her mind was already filled up as she kept recalling the conversations she had with the beta of the Red lily pack.
She took a glance at her brother and scoffed, then stood and made her way out of the little hut they had been residing in.
Feeling depressed, she took to her heels, heading to the nearest bar to calm her nerves.
"Five bottles of soju." She said to the attendant that showed up immediately she stepped in.
Music filled the air, a lot of singles were mingling around. Males dancing with females, and females flirting around noble males from a high rank.
She became thoughtless as she saw the soju drink well served with a cup, she grabbed a bottle of it and unsealed it, then filled the cup on the table.
Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours. Lilith had already emptied the five bottles placed before her.
"Your money ma'am." The attendant referred to her when he noticed that she was totally out of the blue.
She dipped her palm into her pocket and handed all the money to him. "I'm not drunk." She whispered to the attendant who knew she was completely lying.
Lilith stood up slowly, staggered around while making her way out of the bar. She wasn't herself any longer, her mind was blank and the only thing she knew was the ground she matched on.
"Get off my way." She pushed a lady who stood at the doorpost, and slowly climbed down. But she stumbled on a stone in the process, and was lifted high to land on the floor.
She was held back, causing her to rest her head on the chest of whoever it was. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to get herself away, but she was unable to find the face holding her.
"You stay at a place when drunk."
She forcefully dragged herself away when she found out it was a male.
"I am not drunk, can't you see it yourself? You are the one who's drunk here." She yelled back at him.
"Yeah! Maybe we are drunk." The young man replied to her and leaned on the wall.
She made her way out heading to where she wasn't aware of, until she found herself in an area covered with darkness, followed by a hand that pulled her closer.
"Who are you to drag me anyhow?" She was already losing her voice, but she got no reply other than the sound of her gown being torn into two.
Lilith rolled on the bed and yawned out in tiredness as a heavy migraine pounded through her head."Argh! What the heck is wrong with me?"She winced and tried to stand up only for the sheets to roll over and expose her naked self, which made her gasp in shock as she clutched the sheets tightly on her body and looked around in terror."Why the hell am I naked?" She cried out and shook with fear. The room was really a fancy one as the rays of the sun splashed directly at her and she tried so hard to remember what had happened for her to lose her dignity like a careless dog.She rolled over in tears and threw her clothes that lay scatteredly on the floor."I can't believe myself right now, how did I end up in this mess!"She slammed as her head pounded harder, she recalled being drunk and passing out in ecstasy in the arms of a stranger whom she never met.A cash was placed on the coffee table and she cursed whosoever the man was before walking out.Her brother was left all alone at nig
"It's just a warning Leon, you might wield supreme authority and claim to be king but that throne is vacant!""I have a bride now, what else are the requirements? Should I walk on the moon to claim the throne!" Leon snapped at the witch goddess who had come to tell him to claim the throne before he loses the powers connected to the throne."Quit being rude and listen, you don't only need a bride but an heir. Having a bride is good but bringing an heir is better, you only have thirty days to announce that your Luna is pregnant for the process to continue. You've suffered a great deal for the throne, don't let your hatred over something consume you."He sighed and ruffled his hair in frustration."Fine, I've heard.""By the way, where is your Bride?""She's in the dung…uhhmm…she's with the maids taking her bath "The goddess looked at her suspiciously and shook her head."I'll see her at the wedding tomorrow then."He nodded and blew a breath, there was no way he would tell her that he
The door to his room was barged open and his beta came in with his mouth wide open in shock as he couldn't believe his eyes.Leon was on the floor and his face was plastered with mud.He turned to look at the creature that dared his Alpha and he looked so mortified that he gasped."HOW DARE YOU!!" Leon roared in hot fury and Lilith shook, she shouldn't have let her anger get the better part of her as she knew death was coming her way but she didn't show it."It's my way of saying that I don't belong here, get another bride and you'll eat your cake and have it."Leon vibrated in rage and unbuckled his belt and threw a hot lash on her skin.He yanked her hair and slammed her head on the table that it smashed to the ground and dragged her to the bed."Do you have any slightest idea of who I am, you wench?"He roared and Lilith couldn't say a word. She was in a world of indescribable pain and just wished to crawl into a hole and die."Who the heck are you?"She was mute and he slapped her
The shock on their faces was so evident that Liilth swallowed so hard."What?""You hear me right! You tore the previous one given to you, how much more this rags on you.""But I'll be naked.""Who the hell cares about that, your people are shameless. They all walk naked as if it's nothing so don't you dare preach to me.""So you're comfortable that the people will get to see the Alpha King's bride naked? Are you that shameless?"He kept mute and the others gasped while he stood up and walked towards her."Get out from here, all of you."He ordered and they all nodded and left leaving him with Lilith. He slammed her on the wall and grabbed the shirt she was wearing."Have we met before?" He gritted his teeth in anger as he stared daggers into her.He couldn't deny it, there's this silly attitude she portrays that reminded him of someone."Even if we were fated to meet, I'll kill myself than meeting a monster like you."He ripped her clothes apart and turned her bare back over."Let's
There was no way in hell that she would walk into the temple with only his jacket over her. She stood beside him, shaking profusely as she thought about how awry things would go if she was seen like this. She had received enough humiliation and this was going to be the highest. "Why are you still!" Leon snapped at her. She flinched. "I'm sorry," "I'm glad you're learning your manners real quick," She dared to speak. "But it is not right that I wear this before your people. What would they think?" Before she could blink, he had her against the stone walls. If she hadn't been wearing his coat, she would have bruised her back terribly. He glared down at her with so much anger and hatred. "You don't fucking speak about a dress when you tore the one that was given to you, get that!" "Y-yes," She whimpered. "At least, this would be a lesson to you. Do not tamper with the little good I show you because I will always pay back with brutality. No
Lilith walked beside Leon with wobbly legs. She had walked from the temple to the Palace barefeet and her legs hurt so bad she nearly had a bruise. But she knew she had no right to stop. If she valued her bruised body enough, she wouldn't be attracting more bruises to herself. Once her feet hit the marble floors of the palace, she closed her eyes and sighed in relief before working her feet on the smooth floors. "Wait here," Leon commanded and she stood there, just as he had told her. She wondered why he asked her to wait. Was there something wrong? He went into the palace and she heard voices come from within the room. It soon turned to a commotion but she did not dare move from that spot. With the way she was hated by all, moving and going in there might cost her her life and she wasn't ready to lose it. It didn't matter if she always talked about losing her life. She actually didn't want to. So she turned away from the door and acted like she wasn't heari
Lillith was still on the floor when the door opened. She looked up to see a few maids walking into the room with bathing and cleaning materials. She pushed herself to her feet and ignored the looks of disgust they gave to her. But she didn't care. She had gone through worse with Leon so this was nothing compared to it. "The King has asked for us to clean you up and dress you up," One of the maids who seemed to be their leader said before coming to stand before her with a disdainful look. She scrutinized Liliith's body and shook her head, huffing in displeasure. "Go into the bathroom and undress," Then she snapped her fingers at the maid who all rushed towards her. Knowing fully well that she was going to be scrubbed terribly hard by these maids as this wasn't the first time they were doing it, she braced up for the pain she was going to step out of the bathroom with. And just as she had thought, she was scrubbed hard. The maids didn't care. They pulled and
Lillith stood there in shock, not wanting to believe what had just happened. Did he just kill that guard? This was new, she thought. Killing a guard for disrespecting her? Fucking new. When he came back out, his hands had been washed and his chest left bare. He probably discarded his shirt somewhere and she found it appealing. He was a virile male. Her eyes lingered on every muscle of his body. He had prominent abs and when he raised his arm, she swallowed thickly. No, she wasn't meant to be attracted to such a man as him. He was a beast; evil and cruel and had hit her times without number. She closed her eyes. No, she couldn't be attracted to him. His character but not his body mattered and he had a bad one at that. "Open your eyes," His voice came in a commanding tone. Lillith had no option than to do as he had commanded. Her eyes flew open and she noticed he was standing close to her. The smell of blood that had hit her nose earlier on was
So it was settled. Lucien had found his mate and Melissa's life had been saved by chance. Lucien had dropped every grudge he had against Leon and both of them became friends again. It was a beautiful sight for Lillith because she never knew there was ever going to be a time where they both decided to reconcile. As for Melissa, she was yet to forgive her. After what she had done, it had been traumatizing so they stood at the side as both men hugged and when Melissa tried to talk to Lillith, she was immediately told that she wasn't ready for her apology. They both left and things went back to normal. The war ended and people spent their time cleaning up the Palace and getting ready for the Coronation. Liliith had gone up to her room when Leon was called upon to attend to an urgent matter. She didn't want to look like she was desperate for his presence. But those words he had said to her before they were interrupted lingered. He loved her? She laughed at herse
Leon stopped in his tracks. He didn't miss the word Lucien used when he saw Melissa. He raised his hand and stopped the guards from moving before he turned to Lucien. "What did you just say?" Melissa, whose head dangled below her neck, looked up to see Lucien staring at her intently. She had never been looked at like that and this was her first time seeing this man. He was really good looking, a few inches shorter than Leon with fairer hair. He didn't have that dark aura that Leon had. She felt a zing of pleasure shoot up through her as she stared into his eyes and that was when he knew that she was mated to him. "She is my mate," Lucien replied. Leon cocked his head to the side. "And how do I believe that you are telling the truth?" "What do you mean?" Lucien asked with a frown. "Melissa has always been a cunning woman. This might be to rescue her from being executed. Nobody knows if this was planned so how do I believe you both are really mated to ea
Lillith took the small purse from Cali's hand. "Make sure you look after him, okay?" "This is like telling his mother not to leave him hanging," Cali said and folded her arms as she rolled her eyes to the back. "Hurry along, he'll be fine." She left the room and walked down the corridor, noticing that it was quite empty. She guessed it was because of the ritual. She was taken by surprise when she got to the gallery. There was a line from the door to the last step and Leon was standing there. They were all dressed in white clothing, save for Delilah who has a crimson dress on. Lillith began to take slow steps down till she finally got to the base of the steps and before she took Leon's hand in hers, a shaman stepped forward and rubbed a sticky substance on her forehead. She gave Leon a look but he was mute. He finally took her hands and the procession began. Now, they were the last to leave the door. "Is something drastic going to happen?" She asked
Lillith lay flat on the table. She was spent from being constantly rammed into and yet, she throbbed more for him. Her hand reached out towards his cock and she began to stroke softly. She maintained eye contact with him, not minding if he was finding it hard to actually sit properly. "Lillith, I am sleepy and you have drained out my soul. What do you want from me again?" "Your soul in particular. Since it is useless, why don't I make it complete?" He threw his head back and laughed. "You're becoming witty as the day goes by. Where do you learn all of these from?" She shrugged. "Instinct?" He raised a brow in askance. His eyes narrowed like he didn't believe her. "I doubt that." She sat up on one elbow and looked at him. "So what do you think then, Alpha Leon?" "That you're lying to me. That's the only tangible explanation." "And what is your definition of the truth?" "You have met other men and they have corrupted you." Lillith began to lau
Gods, she loved when he became so dominating and controlling. She loved to see that look creep into his eyes. Her hands were planted behind her on the table as she stared up at him. His fingers were still wrapped around her neck and his other was on her hip, pulling her away from the table. She placed her hands on his hip to hold herself in place as he lowered his head to kiss her. He kissed her with everything he had in him, not stopping even when she tried to catch her breath. He wanted her. All of her. He lifted her off the floor again and walked over to the other side of the clearing. It was a wall demarcating the palace from the woods behind it and her back pressed against the cold walls. "Tell me your fantasies. What have you thought of me doing to you because I have thought about it a lot." She bit her lower lip and he groaned as he groin himself against her. She arched her hips towards him and splayed her fingers behind his back. "I've thought of you fucking me
Lillith stood naked before him. He had locked the door after instructing a guard that no one was to come close to the door. He came back to where she stood naked as she waited for him and pushed the plates aside to make space for him to lay her across the table. As soon as he was done, he walked back to her and lifted her off the table. He placed her on the table so her breasts were facing the air. She turned on her side and watched as he pulled out a seat in front of her. She smiled and touched his face when he finally settled down before her. "You really are smitten, Leon. I thought you were going to turn my idea down and request that we had normal dinner." He laughed and leaned over to pick up a plate of olives. His arm brushed her thigh in the process and she sucked in a sharp breath. He finally settled down. "You call this abnormal then? This style of dinner we are having?" She laughed and shook her head. "Not at all. I think this is an unconventional way to ha
Candles. Bright lights. Lights hitting glass and metal and causing a beautiful amber beam to fill the area. A large table she hadn't seen here before was stationed in the middle of the large space and the table was covered in candle lights. A flower vase was situated in the middle of the table right beside a metal bucket. A wine bottle poked out of the bucket. She sighed and brought her hand to her chest when she saw how the table was filled with so much food. A card lay at the middle of the table. The guard smiled at her before shutting the door behind her. She took the steps down and looked around. "This is absolutely beautiful. How long did it take to set this place up?" "Just an hour and two hours of cooking." She turned to see Leon standing at the other side of the clearing. He was dressed in a robe and breeches and shirtless underneath. His hair fell in tufts on his forehead and a side sad slicked back. He held a bouquet of roses in his hand. She took
"I wanted to tell you something but I forgot entirely." Leon said as they walked slowly into the palace. They were holding hands and the guards and maids were surprised to see them both. No one believed he was ever going to soften towards Lillith. "And what's that?" Lillith asked as she swung his arm back and forth. "There will be a ritual held tomorrow before the coronation in two days," He said. They stopped at the base of the ornate steps. "You're to be by my side so we can both be cleansed before the coronation." Sometimes, Lillith couldn't believe she was actually going to be Queen soon. It had been a long ride for the whole year and things were going the way she hadn't expected it to go. "This feels like a dream," She said with a laugh. He smiled and brushed her hair behind her ear. It was something he loved to do. "Of course, it does feel like a dream. But it's your place and no one is going to take it from you. I want you to know that." She smiled a
They spent time walking around the garden and Leon showed her a few special plants that had bloomed when the curse was made. "I think this is the best day of my life," Lillith said as she brushed her fingers over red tulips as she walked across the gardens. "Are they grown by people or it just started growing?" "Still effects from the curse," Leon said as he came to stand behind her. "Wow. It looks really organized. You would think it was intricately planted by farmers," She said. She felt like she was standing in a maze of a red flower garden. She looked around her and closed her eyes as she inhaled deeply. She took in the scent of the flowers, combined into a beautiful essence that wafted into her nose. When she finally opened her eyes she caught Leon staring at her with a smile. She had always seen him stare at her like she was the most precious thing in this world but this one had been unexpected and she couldn't even look him in the eyes. A blush crept up
