*Noland's POV*

I look at Lexie and Sussie, their faces filled with worry. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I try to maintain a calm demeanor for their sake. "Listen," I say, raising my hands slightly as if to steady them from across the room. "Chris and I are going to go to the police station to see what we can find out about this whole mess."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Lexie asks. Her eyes flicker, reflecting her fear and concern.

"Absolutely," I reply with a conviction I don't entirely possess. "And I've asked Chris to assign a new security agent – Max – to keep an eye on both of you while we're gone. You need to be safe, I don’t trust anyone now."

Sussie nods, her sunshine personality temporarily clouded by the weight of the situation. "Thank you, dad. We appreciate it."

I walk out and shake hands with Max, as he has just arrived. Chris already filled him in about the situation. As I prepare to leave with Chris, a nagging thought enters my mind. "Have eithe

Lately I have started to worry about so many things, like the possibility that Thomas contacted someone and made that shooting, and if that is true, it means this is all my fault, amplifying my growing feeling of nausea. My vision blurs, and I have to grip the wall for support."Miss Montgomery?" A kind-faced nurse approaches me with concern etched on her face. Drinking enough water?"I nod weakly, but my mind races. Sure, I've been stressed, but this feels different – more intense. The nurse raises an eyebrow, clearly not convinced by my response. "Have you considered the possibility that you might be pregnant, Miss?"My heart sk

The door clicks shut behind me as I step into the lavishly decorated room Natasha has insisted is now mine. My eyes dart around, taking in the exquisite furnishings, the plush velvet chaise, the massive four-poster bed with silk sheets. This kind of luxury is foreign to me. I run my fingers along the embroidered throw pillows, inhaling the subtle scent of jasmine in the air. "So, what do you think?" Natasha asks eagerly from the doorway. I turn to face her, still stunned. "It's… incredible. But it's too much, Tash. I can't accept all this."She waves her hand dismissively. "Nonsense. Mi casa es tu casa now. Make yourself at home." I nod hesitantly. Natasha means well, but sometimes her extravagant lifestyle only highlights the vast differences in our upbringings. "Oh, before I forget, there's a gala at the museum on Friday that I must attend. Come with me?" Natasha tilts her head, eyes pleading."Thanks, but no thanks. Not really my scene." I try to keep my tone light. Crowde

*Lexie’s POV*I sit beside Natasha in the hospital waiting room and hold her cold hand; she is not moving, she has tears running down her eyes but she stays still and emotionless. My eyes are fixed on Noland, who stands at a slight distance, speaking with Chris, Carol, and what appears to be a police officer. The tension in his posture is palpable and I can't help but feel a mixture of concern and admiration for the way he is handling things."Lex," Natasha says, her voice almost faint, "what if Robert doesn't make it through this?"I glance at her, taking in the worry etched on her face. Her blue eyes, which usually sparkle with mischief, are now filled with fear. I reach out, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Natasha, he's strong. He'll pull through this. *Noland's POV*As I step into my home, a wave of energy washes over me. Natasha, Robert, and Lexie are hunched over the dining table, poring over sketches and fabric swatches for Natasha's upcoming fashion show. My heart tightens as I watch Lexie, her hair falling in loose curls around her shoulders, her eyes focused intently on her work. She's been through so much lately, and the last thing she needs is more stress."Evening, everyone," I say, forcing a smile onto my face. The weight of Avery's betrayal presses down on me, making it difficult to breathe. Her actions have put Lexie in the middle of our differences, and I know I need to tell her, but not now. Not with everyone here. I don't want her to worry."Hey, Dad!" Natasha beams, looking up from the table. "We're just finishing up the last details for the show.""Everything looks great," I tell them, trying to sound enthusiastic despite the turmoil inside me. "I'm sure it will be a huge success. Great job to you all.""Than
