Sally's POV

He smiled back and faced the last rays of the sunset setting on the horizon. I couldn't help but look around until it fell into his left hand. He was holding something, a book.

"What do you have there?" My eyes remained glued to his hand.

He lifted the book between us. “Oh, this? Just a book I started reading again, recommended by Athena.”

Despite the seriousness in the air, I still laughed. “A book recommended by Athena?”

I wiped tears from the corners of my eyes. “Please don't tell me this is a werewolf novel or a vampire romance novel.”

He chuckled, shaking his head. “No, it's a historical romance novel.”

"OH!" I was amazed at Athena's persistence in getting someone to read something she loved.

“How did she succeed in getting you to read this kind of book? I know you are not the romantic type of man, not even the type who likes history.”
