Ninety-Four

Sally's POV

In a cold demeanor, he brought his sleeves down to his elbows before stuffing his hands into his front pockets. He's worried. Extremely worried.

What's wrong with me? Oh my God.

"I'm OK." That was all he said.

"I do not believe you."

“Why do you care?” His voice was suddenly sharp and cold.

I did a double take, holding my hands defensively in front of me. "I don't... I don't care." I said as I started to walk away.

Caught by the rustling sound of the grass behind me, he was following suit. A hand tightened around my elbow, carefully turning me around to face him.

I jerked away from his grip, frowning. "What are you sorry for?"

He was silent for a moment, looking away as if trying to find an answer to my question. I scoffed bitterly. "You don't even know why you said sorry."

"I do, and I mean it." Annoyed, he pushed back the fringe of his hair. He sighed. "I'm sorry for everything, for hurting you, and for letting you go."

"Why can't you be honest for once?"
