Enrico kept walking until he got to the Rolls-Royce. He didn’t want anyone to see how upset he was after the conversation with your uncle. He was still angry that his wife was a liar.
In the car, he removed his blazer and loosened his tie, feeling the anger suffocating him. Enrico punched the car’s horn twice before starting the engine. He was a fool for trusting that woman.
"She shall have what she deserves!" The hands started pounding on the flywheel, one more punch and one more again...
The wheels of the car were sliding down the road so fast that the trees looked like blurs. Enrico opened the windows, allowing the cold air to whip his face. His uncle’s voice still reverberated in his mind, the information collected, along with the coin and the pen drive, confirmed what Enrico was so afraid to admit to himself: he was wrong about his own wife. The woman he loved was a fake. He was tired of that fake marriage, it was time to teach a lesson to the woman who bewitched him with her charms.
It was dawn when Enrico got out of the car, he raised his head and looked at the two men who were doing the security of his property.
Enrico entered the house, looked at the sofa where Livia was wrapped in a blanket. For several seconds, he admired his wife, but her expression changed as her uncle’s words resonated in his mind. He was hesitant and troubled, hatred was dominating his heart.
The soles of the moccasins hit the ground as he approached the sleeping woman. Enrico pulled the blanket so abruptly that Livia woke up, her heart beating faster.
"What happened?" Asked Lívia's trembling voice. "I waited all night for you".
"You're not ashamed of the way you play this good girl role, are you?
"I don't allow you to talk to me like that!" She replied and cringed even more when Enrico advanced.
"Shut up!" His voice was full of hate.
"Why do you keep saying I'm acting?
"It's so great!" Enrico started clapping. "Hollywood is losing a good actress."He continued applauding. "You deserve an Oscar!"
"I don't understand why you're so upset with me".
"Don't be sly!" He raised his voice. "Don't you get tired?"
Livia tightened her shoulders and swallowed when she saw the pistol in Enrico's waistband.
"I don't know how I didn't suspect you before." He said. "I should have realized that all your movements and words were well rehearsed. The best part was when you saved me".
"I have always done my best to save lives. I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath to save even gangsters like you!" Livia shouted.
"Sure!" He applauded again, but louder this time. "The Hippocratic Oath! You have an answer for everything".
"I don't have to listen to this." She got up from the couch, "I'm leaving this house".
"You’re staying here!" Enrico got close to Livia when he screamed. "Sit down!" Enrico grabbed Glock and put the gun on the table.
At that exact moment, Lívia remembered what he said about the woman he killed for betraying him. From her husband's dark face, she knew Enrico wouldn't hesitate to do the same to her. Livia went to the opposite side and sat in the armchair facing her husband. She didn't know what to expect.
"What do you want to talk about?" The way she smoothed the back of his trembling hands betrayed his fear and nervousness.
For a second, Enrico hesitated, but quickly, he tried to reassess his feelings for that woman.
"You still want to trick me!" He wove the comment, smiling.
“Of course No!” Livia said.
“Sure?”
There was a long minute of silence in the room. Tension soared between the couple. It was dawn, Lívia had not slept well that night.
"Have you ever played Russian roulette?" He looked from Livia to the gun.
"No!" She looked to the pistol. "What are you doing?"
Enrico took the Glock from the table before Livia could do the same.
"I've already played Russian roulette with one of my colleagues". He smiled while playing with the semi-automatic weapon. "I used this pistol. My uncle gave it to me on my birthday. That day, I shot my friend in the leg," said Enrico’s dark voice.
Livia moved on the couch, she was scared. That man learned to hate and eliminate any problems that stood in his way.
"Don’t do stupid things!" He said it out loud. "If you try to escape, I’ll kill you!"
She was speechless, tears were pouring down her scared face. Livia was stuck with a gangster and had no idea why the mobster was so upset.
He was silent for some seconds, his mind was in complete chaos, so he finally looked at Livia and said: "Go to your bedroom and leave me alone!" He said before he committed madness. "Get out!" Enrico ordered.
Livia hurried up to the steps. She didn't go to the same bedroom where she slept with Enrico the last few nights, but entered the guest bedroom at the end of the hall.
Silently, she threw herself on the bed and embraced the pillow with full force as tears ran down her face. How did the lovely man become so cold and cruel again? Livia asked in her mind.
In the last few weeks, she thought Enrico had changed, but by then, Livia felt stupid believing in a liar gangster.
She closed her eyes when she heard the sound of the door opening and then heard the sound of footsteps hitting the floor. Livia was worried that Enrico might take her back to prison.

"You should be more grateful." She replied indignantly."For what?" He asked through gritted teeth."For saving your life. You were passed out on that sidewalk. I took you out of the car and brought you to the suture room. ."You only did what you were supposed to do".He remembered the doctor’s voice whispering something about Hippocrates' oath before giving him the injection that eased the pain."You are rude!" She said. Livia didn't usually act that way, but that patient made her so furious that she had no reservations about returning the harshness. "Can you tell me the name of any relatives?" She lowered her face and checked the last exam on the computer screen.Enrico staggered over to the tray with several surgical instruments, picked up the scalpel and pointed at the cornered woman."I have nobody! Enrico let Livia go through the medicine cabinet. Bringing his face closer to the shorter woman's brown strands, he could smell the peach scent in Livia's silky hair."What are you doing?" He popped the two pills into his mouth.Lívia went to a small fridge in the corner of the room and took out a bottle of water. She thought about waking the man lying in front of her, but she stepped back when a thought came to her mind. "If they wanted to kill us, they would have fired by now," she said, maybe it was an opportunity for her to ask and help escape from there. Livia left the room where Enrico was lying and went down the hall to the entrance of the clinic. She opened the door, men entered the room. Before even thinking how to escape, Livia had already been brutally dominated by one of the men who had nailed her to the ground. "I did nothing." She fought back slowly, thinking that these men were detectives and that they were there to arrest the gangster. "I work here in a medical clinic". Livia held the bars of the cell trying to spy, even without being able to see, imagined that it was Enrico, then began to rave about the delay to release and to judge him for his ingratitude with the people who helped him."You didn’t even thank him!" She screamed. "You treated your securities with such rudeness and violence." said, indignant.Livia’s body was paralyzed, and her voice failed when she saw the stout man, only a few centimeters shorter than Enrico, as he approached the cell. Livia was still trying to understand the gangster’s proposal while listening to the footsteps of two of Enrico’s henchmen approaching. One of the men said something she didn’t understand, Enrico just shook his head. "Will you marry me?" He kept his gaze fixed on Livia."I need some time to think about your proposal."
