My ears hadn't failed me. The tiny sound of the baby's cry heightened. Could it be from a videotape? From a TV or something. It was too early to watch soap operas, so I doubted that was the case.

I walked down the aisle of the house, moving to Madam Desideria's room where the sound seemed to make a stop.

With a push, I flung the door open. The wide eyes of my wife, sister, and desideria shot at me as they all froze, maintaining the position I met them. Madam Desideria was holding onto a cot, Rlyse holding a feeder and Claire looking into the cot.

Looking down at the cot in their middle, I saw a child crying.

Was that a pet or this was real? I took some steps closer and for some reason unknown they all took some steps backward. A closer look into the cot and indeed it was a baby.

"What is going on here?" My voice deepened. The look of terror on their face confirmed something was fishy. I tried to make my guesses. Was it Elyse? Did she have a hidden pregnancy and have
