Chapter 39: Chloe Turns Herself In

She kept going over and over it as she glanced in the mirror every so often to see him. Seriously, how could I have ever been interested in him? He thought I was a murderer. Why would he be interested in me? He was coming to take me to prison. And all the while, he was flirting with me and trying to get me in bed. What did he have a fetish for killers or something? She got angrier and angrier the more she thought about it.

Chloe wasn't entirely sure whom she was mad at, him or herself for almost falling for him. Then she remembered him telling her he had wanted a second taste before she 'expired.' Of course, he never once told her he believed she was innocent. He wasn't leading her on to believe she would go free. She was just blind to the fact that he thought she was guilty. When she got to the station, she headed to the front door. Detective Johnson pulled up and parked just in front of the fire lane, and jumped out of the car to head her off.

"Wrong entrance." He
