Chapter 3

At the hospital emergency room, Vonn was restless, he stood up, walk a little then sat down and stood up again and again. He starred at his hands, twisting and knotting them as if doing so would hold back the turmoil inside him. Despair roamed the room, expelled the breath of worries like him and those doing their best to bite down on the pain that brought them here.

It’s an awkward thing on me being worried too much to a woman whom I never met and known.

“What the hell I’m doing. It’s an awkward thing on me being worried too much to a woman whom I never met and known in my life. Damn! Why would I waste my time helping a totally stranger woman.” He whispered and he stood up and was about to leave when a doctor came out from the room where the woman they helped was.

“ Mr. Richard the woman you brought here is stabled now and out of danger. She is still unconscious due to the trauma she had been in her head. But don’t you worry I assure you that she will regain her consciousness within twenty four hours.” the doctor said.

“ That’s a good news, thank you doctor.” He said with a relief in his voice. “By the way please give me a call when she woke up.” He added.

Khlea opened her eyes to a bright room lit by the morning sun.. What happened? Where am I? questioned flooded to her head as she tried to sit up,

She felt heaviness and pain in her head and she tried to raise her hands but she felt a sting and she looked down at her hands surprised to see that she was hooked to an IV.

She turned to observe her surroundings, the white walls and the medical equipment spoke volumes.. Khlea was in a hospital. But how? What she remembered is when Joan hit her head and rest…she shook her head that is slightly in pain…ohhh! she can’t remember what happened next. Does Joan or Jack bring her to the hospital after she fell down to the floor?

You had a trauma in your head, and now your head probably feels hurt, are you dizzy? A woman wearing a white dress asked in caring tone as she came near to her and checked her IV.

“Yes a bit dizzy.” She answered. How do I got here? She asked the nurse

“You are lucky that Mr. Richard found you earlier. He was the one who bring you her.” The nurse replied.

“Who is Mr.Richard? she asked. The nurse was about to answer when the sliding door of her room opened and a smilling face of man popped. He was wearing a white gown.

“hello, it is a good thing that you are awake now, how do you feel? He asked. By the way you were brought here by Mr.Vonn Richard. It’s a good thing that he found you before you run out of blood.” He added.

Run out of blood?” she repeatedly what the doctor said.

“Yes....ohh! by the way what is your name? the doctor asked.

“Khlea..Khlea Magalona.” She answered confused.

“ Miss Magalona we are very sorry to inform you that the child in your womb was gone. When Mr. Richard found you near the bridge you were bloody.” He answered.

“You must marry a decent woman with in three months if you want to take over my company Vonn.” His father ordered to him. “or else you will get nothing.” He added like he is threatening him.

“ With in three month with a decent woman? Father are you kidding me? He said with anger and complaint in his words.

“Yes and nothing changes in my decision.. that’s an order. “ remember what I told you my condition was going worst”. its eloquent and authoritative answer of his father and he leave him at the balcony.

“ What a damn shit! He uttered as he followed his leaving father with a bad look. He was sorry to his father because he was diagnosed with a prostate cancer. But what was floating in his heart was hatred.

Ring..ring..ring… his cellphone chirped. He looked to his cellphone screen and the caller is Doctor Mark. Mark is his friend, he is the son of his father business partner.

“hello Mark” he answered

“hello Vonn I would like to inform you that the woman you brought here last night was awake now” the doctor.

“ okay I will be there later on, thank you Mark.” He replied and ended the call. Ahhh!! He almost forgot the woman he helped last night. When he remembered the woman, he formed a plan in his mind. He smiled and quickly went to the hospital.

She was sitting infront the hospital window and looking outside but her mind was far away. Tears fall down to her pinkish cheeks when he remembered what Jack had done to her. She almost died because of what they did to her. Thanks to that stranger who helped her.

“Murderer! I will do everything to revenge you. You have to pay for what you did to me and my future child.” She whispered to herself with anger in her eyes.

At that moment, a deep and elegant male voice appeared from the door.

“Hello! May I come in.”

Khlea turned over her head at the door and was instantly blinded by the man in front of her.

The man was tall, had phoenix eyes, a tall nose, thin lips, and a sharp and smooth face. His brown eyes were like a pool of deep water, as if they could instantly suck her in.

“Ah..ehh..yes?.” she answered as she wiped her teary eyes and look at Vonn with a questioning look.

Vonn looked at Khlea’s face that is not sophisticated. Too simple to impress him. But dared say, she was pretty. Quite pretty. Her hair was blonde and it is wavy and silky. Her eyes were brown. Just normal brown. Her cheeks were pink. A perfect woman.

“ I’m Vonn Richard the one who brought you here last night.” Vonn said that seems he read her eyes.

“Mr.Richard, thank you for helping me, I owe you my second life.”

“ Just call me Vonn., may I know your name too”

“Khlea..Khlea Magallona.” She shortly answered.

“hmm what a nice name.. nice meeting you” he said and offered his hand for a shake hand to her.

Khlea stared at Vonn’s hand for a second. At first she is hesitant to accept his shake hand but later on she held his hand.

“ If you don’t mind asking you what happened to you last night? Why are you there at that remote area and bloody? He asked.

He observed that her eyes became darker and her facial expression changes. She turn her face again outside the window and seems that she is thinking whether to answer his question or not. She is quite for a moment and she began to tell the story. She is crying as she detailed what happened to her.

“ What I don’t know.. is.. if how come I was there at that remote area.” She said crying.

“ I am very sorry to hear that. So what are you planning to do now? do you want to report to the police? I will help you, I can call my friend there.” he added with a concern in his voice.

He is Vonn Richard the one who don’t care anybody, but why is he caring this woman today. What is in this woman that she got my attention. Shit! he whispered to his self as he watching and waiting to her answer.

“ No! let them think that I am dead.” She finally answered. I don’t want them to find out that I’m alive and mess up the opportunity I’ve been given.” She added with a soft voice.

Ring..ring.. Vonn’s cellphone chirped.

“Hello! Ok I will be there” he answered.

“ Sorry I must go now. Don’t hesitate to give me a call if you needed some help.” He said as he give her a calling card. “ I will visit you often.” He said with a smile in his face as he went out the room.
