Jane's POV

I've found my spindle wheel, and mysteriously just like sleeping beauty I wasn't strong enough to resist its tempting glow. Unlike her, my spindle wheel has a face, name, and address.

I feel like I deliberately walked into the lion's dean something mother nature could have avoided if the universe would somehow compel me to stay home the day I accidentally met Niklaus Salvatore.

It has been what? Mere two months and this job was humbling me. No!! Let me correct myself, Niklaus was humbling me.

I've never loved Sundays as much as I do now. It was basically the only day that had the lowest probability of being dragged to the office, not that it didn't happen before, but sometimes I prayed hard enough so it didn't happen, and believe me, lately, I've been praying a lot.

Initially, I couldn't adapt to Niklaus's rhythm, but I somehow figured things out. My routine was nothing out of this world plus I'd Sarah to back me up.

Having Niklaus as a boss is not something to be grateful for. Some might say I'm exaggerating but sometimes he acts all possessive, I mean I'm his PA, not his bride to be.

Here is why I hated the job, Niklaus has this freaking mood swings. Bipolar jerk.

It irritates me because it gets worse when I've to attend my classes, something that was clearly stated in the contract. Whenever I return, his asshole mode is on. Do I bother him that much?

There is this one thing I developed, something I can't control. Every time he says something rude my subconscious generates an answer and my mouth delivers it, although I usually regret immediately.

So, one can already picture my daily struggle, though just like a balloon, I get inflated with his words and all rage one is capable of handling takes over, but as soon as I cool down those words that once filled my system escape and I return to my original state like nothing ever happened.

But not this week. It was different, I could swear the air in this company became just a little bit cleaner, this sense of peace was additive, never knew it comes in many shapes.

This week he was abroad, as it was for personal issues I was spared and stayed behind. Like a miracle, I walked into the office smiling wishing a paparazzi would capture this moment.

"Morning Sarah" The happiness in my voice brought a smile on her face.

" Let me guess. You're in a good mood, I wonder why? " she said looking towards the closed office.

" What are you trying to imply? " Pretending to be shocked I faked a frown " You know how much my liver hurts when I see his office closed, unbearable pain"

" Sure it does. I've seen how you two have been exchanging words like cat and dog" She sarcastically rolled her eyes as she mocked me.

" I never saw a woman get this much reaction out of him the way you do" she added.

" Believe me he scares the hell out of me, but he also triggers my stubbornness "

" I believe he does. Okay here are the papers you need to work on today " she said giving them to me." If you finish them make sure you rearrange his schedule and you're free "

Since he is absent, my work here escalated to nothingness.

" Thank you, Sarah" I said taking the papers and went straight to my office.

" He didn't call again "I sighed and started reading the papers." Not that I care"

Usually, he would call so I could give him feedback on projects, contracts, and so on. Now it has been three days and nothing. It's not like I cared but being a PA required a boss right?

Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the freedom but even though his attitude sucks, this place was nothing more than an average company without him. You know? People working peacefully, talking like they work at a gossip magazine, no scared cats running around. I think the company misses him.

In a blink of an eye, I was done.

So maybe I should meet with my wifey, because Annabelle is busy with her studies, probably somewhere in a class annoying the hell out some unknown creature. When I parked at Ailee's place, I turned on the side to take my bag and my eyes caught a bouquet of red roses at the back seat. I frowned and took the bag and roses.

" Hey wifey, you'd me worried for a while " Ailee said when I walked in.

" Why? What did I do this time " I joined her on the couch.

" I saw a car arriving at the same time you did, I thought it was your boss at first but then a strange guy inside that car was staring at you the whole time" She murmured barely breathing.

" I didn't notice. Wait! was it a black Mercedes?" I asked concerned.

" Yes, how did you know? " Ailee looked at me restless.

" I've seen it for a while now, at first I thought my mind was playing tricks." I sighed.

" That guy seemed familiar, I just can't remember from where" She frowned then added pointing at the roses." What about these ?"

" Someone left it in my car " I looked at it and found a card.

" Secret admirer at the office hum? " she smirked.

"Please, as if that would actually happen "

' I've been away for too long, but I'm here now" I read the card but didn't ring a bell.

" Meaning??" Ailee asked curiously.

" I don't know " I'd no clue. Was someone trying to play a prank or something? My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my phone ring.

" Walker " Upon hearing his voice my mood changed, we can say that I was happy waiting to be disturbed any time.

" Yes, Mr. Salvatore " I answered as professional as possible.

" I need you to send a birthday present to the address I sent on your email " he murmured making me wanna curse him.

' Why can't you do it yourself? '

" Yes Sr. And what should I send? "

"I don't care what you'll send, just make sure it will make her stay out of my sight for a while, use my card" he said hanging up the phone.

There goes my mood." Ailee if I murder someone will you help me bury the evidence?" I asked standing up.

" Obviously, who is on the blacklist? "

" Niklaus Salvatore " I took my bag." You're coming with me let's go " I informed her and she followed me.

"Ms wanna murder your boss, where are we going exactly? " she asked when we got into the car.

" To buy a freaking present for my boss's girlfriend or whatever she is I don't know, and surely don't care," I said my anger pilling up.

" So, are we angry because he sent us to buy the gift or because the gift is for his female acquaintance." she teased.

" I can just leave you in the middle of the road knowing that you didn't bring money to go back love," I informed my friend and she zipped her lips throwing the keys out of the window.

" I thought so "

We bought a necklace that every woman would love and asked the store to deliver it to the address he sent, then we decided to crash at my house.

I was currently cooking. dad, mom, and Ailee were sitting on the counter behind me.

" She is at it again " Mom whispered.

" It became a habit you know?" Dad stated.

" What? " Ailee asked with her mouth full of chips.

" Oh darling, she comes home and starts cooking whenever he stresses her. Sometimes she starts badmouthing Niklaus. I think it's kind of therapy for her so we don't disturb her. The disadvantage is that she is finishing the food" Mom explained.

" What is Niklaus doing to my wifey? " Ailee murmured laughing.

" Can you guys stop?. I don't want to hear his name again, please. I only have four more days to enjoy not seen his face so let me take pleasure in it" I begged.

" Mom, I still need your help with the apartment we talked about" I reminded her.

" I still don't think you should move out. you can move into the apartment your father bought for you when the time comes " Mom insisted.

" I think that the apartment is too big for me Mom. What Am I going to do with an apartment of three rooms? " I notified her. Mom is preventing me from moving out she always turns the situation upside down.

" Jane listen to your mother, we will feel better if you go and live there, it's safe and a very good apartment. your mother will at least be less worried" Dad said.

Obviously, he is always rooting for his wife, and when he calls me Jane means it's final

" Okay, Annabelle and Ailee will help me buy the furniture tomorrow. If possible I'll move out end of the week" I informed and Ailee agreed.

" Too soon, you could wait till the end of the month darling" Mom said sadly.

" Mom, I don't think I'll have time when Niklaus comes back. I'm not going out of the country. I'll visit" I said caressing her hands.

" What about your nightmares, you'll be alone " she cried.

" Mom I'll be fine. One way or another I need to face it on my own." Her eyes were now melting with the tears.

" Don't worry mom, you raised a warrior "
