~ History of the Great Defense at Heavens Fall ~

Heavens Fall is once a beautiful realm filled with magical creatures. The land was once filled with life. Flower petals can be seen floating up towards the sky before disintegrating into smaller particles, contributing to the natural magic of the planet. Numerous floating islands can be seen in the blue sky and it's under the bright and warm light of three suns and at night, two moons can be seen up in the sky.

The capital planet of Heavens Realm is called Heavens Fall. It's 6,000x bigger than the third planet from the former solar system.

The residents of Heavens Fall are called the Fallens. Their race may sound suspicious and dangerous, but it's the exact opposite. They are kind and protectors of this land. They possess a power called the void and are believed to be the descendants of the Angel Race from the unknown region.

All was well and peaceful…but it was not for long.

~ Year 1500 of the Starlian Calendar ~

The third sun turned black and shattered to pieces as the Nightmare swarm approached the planet, advancing from their victory against the Starlian forces at the Land of Demise.

The sky turned red as the balance was destroyed by the closing enemy. In an attempt to hold the enemies at Relix, the second star of Heavens fall, a combined fleet of the newly formed alliance of the Fallen and Starlians charges towards the not stopping swarm.

6,000 capital ships that's 8,000 kilometers long each, escorted by 40,000 frigates and destroyers were sent to counter this threat (a total of 46,000 ships strong), and at Relix star they faced the unending wave of the enemy's swarm.

The Kingdom of Starlia immediately mobilized its four billion Starknights and were to set out immediately at Heavens Fall. On board the 4 million colony class ships escorted by 6 million warships, they left the realm of Starlia to head towards Heavens Fall. Prince Julius, followed the departing armada aboard the Bismark, the pride of the Kingdom of Starliege.

The Bismark is a heavily armed battleship and is 10,000 kilometers in length. It is docked outside of Starliege near the East pillar inside a massive spaceport. As the armada is leaving Starlian Realm, the fleet designated at Heavens Fall is starting to receive heavy losses and could barely inflict damage to the unending swarm.

Author: Have you witnessed an entire ant colony swarming out of their nest? It can be compared to what is happening in the story but on a much larger scale.

"Commander, the fleet will be obliterated if we stay on this battlefield!" An ensign shouted. 

"We can't abandon our comrades! We'll not cower and leave this realm to fall like the Land of Demise!" He ordered.

The crew knows that the Commander has his resolve set and will not back down and leave the people. They saluted at him and went back to their posts. The twin barrel of the Eliminator, a large heavy weapon capable of performing a chain reaction can be used against the enemies but there's one problem.

The swarm is divided into five assault forces, so even if they fired at one there are still four remaining to deal with.

Even so, they don't have much of a choice.

They began charging the weapon and aimed at the middle group of the swarm. Just as the weapon was about to fire, a massive ship of the Nightmare called Gaia appeared from behind the shattered star.

The ship was seen even from the surface of Heavens Fall. The citizens who're under evacuation procedures looked at this massive round object with fear. It was half the side of the sun and it's coming.

Panic began to occur resulting in a stampede at the Capital City of Herald, a city which only now exists in books inside the Starlian Library.

The twin barrel of the Eliminator fired towards the enemy and disintegrated everything near spreading chain reaction from this powerful weapon. After the elimination of the middle group, the massive object began charging its weapon and was aimed towards the direction of the defending allied fleet.

The object fired a massive green ray and obliterated the remaining 16,000 ships…there's no standing between them and Heavens Fall now.

One by one, the Nightmare ships began its descent and landed on the planet's surface.

Hundreds of thousands of creatures covered in pitch black aura came out of the cocoon like ships and started to head towards Herald, approaching the city from the west side. Unfortunately, evacuations are still not finished due to the panic and confusion.

City defenses began firing towards the charging enemies and the soldiers above the wall released all of their magic techniques directly at the unknown creatures that's invading their home planet.

The defenses were holding out…well, it looks like it's holding out.

A giant creature rose from beneath the central park. It was then…where all hope seems to have vanished.

When the Starlian Armada arrived at Heavens Fall they saw the damage done by the swarm.

They're all speechless aboard the Bismark while seeing how large the Nightmare's fleet is and seeing the planet half of its surface ablazed.

The enemy fleet noticed their arrival and immediately turned their ships and weapons towards the advancing Starlian Armada.

"Begin bombardment. Pound these foul creatures to dust!" - Prince Julius

With the order issued, the Starlian Fleet begins its brutal assault against the Nightmares. The enemy returned fire but was completely caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the armada.

The two fleets faced the other head on ramming the other if necessary.

The Starlians' desperate assault opened a path for the four million colony ships to begin entering the atmosphere of the massive planet.

They began bombarding the surface, wiping out the enemies beneath the ships. Pillars of blue light came down from the colony ships, teleporting the 4 billion Starknights on the flattened land because of the bombardment.

In front of them from a far distance stood the enemy's forces.

A pillar of light struck in front of the Starknights who're wearing their silver and complete war armor. When the towering light disappeared, at the front stood their Prince, Julius Friedrick Asters Starliege lll wearing his golden shining battle armor. On his left and right stood his greatest general, RavenX, wearing his black and glorious armor.

This is how the defense at Heavens Realm begins. The city of Herald lies behind the enemy, destroyed and is swarming with these pitch black entities. The Nightmares began to charge at the Starknights who're patiently waiting for their Majesty's signal.

Prince Julius took his sword from its sheath on his back and pointed it towards the sky.

The ranged classes behind the shield types unleashed their magical attacks and it rained down to the enemy creating strong explosions. The prince then pointed his sword towards the enemy.

"FOR STARLIA!!" A powerful warcry shouted by the knights and then charges towards the enemy. Supported by the colony ships and fighters, the Starlians clash with the Nightmare forces.

This is how the war that ravaged the planet for 500 years began.

"Hurry up and prepare to fire another round!" Canan ordered the knights operating the ground shaker. A magic canon that can fire for up to 800 kilometers.

When the charging time is finished they pointed the cannon 26 degrees up towards the enemy.

"Open fire!"

The 400 magic cannon simultaneously opened fire and inflicted a devastating blow upon impact at the charging enemy forces.

"Reload!" He immediately shouted.

"Canan!"

One of the Dragoon Platoon member shouted at him and pointed in front.

A Tank class Nightmare has passed the front line and is currently headed towards him.

Tank class Nightmares are 20 feet high and can take heavy pounding from enemy magic techniques.

He looked at it irritatedly.

"Just seeing your eyes makes me mad." He immediately casted his fire magic.

"Fourth form: Bowgun." The flame gathered at his right hand and took the form of a long rifle.

He pointed at the approaching creature and opened fire. A concentrated beam was released from its barrel and pierced through the giant's armored body.

The creature showed signs of slowing down and slowly turned into dust.

A thunderous sound was heard and it came from the front of the battlefield.

"That was a strong start C." Said Onimura, Shó's older brother. 

"This is a battlefield, we mustn't hold back." Canan replied in a serious tone.

A battleship passed by above them and began bombarding the approaching enemy vessel.

The sky is covered by clouds and smoke and even if the suns were to appear it will still look like it's sunset because of the red sunlight.

The battle in space also rages and both sides are losing one ship and then another because of the continuous exchange of magical bullets and solid projectiles.

All the other planets and systems in this realm are either destroyed or dying because of the damage dealt by the unending bombardment done by both forces. One defending while the other is set to conquer.

The Nightmare Race has a hostile nature and cares not about others but only its survival and the benefits they could gain. Day by day their forces increase in numbers. The High Council believed that they're not living creatures but entities created by a forbidden magic and are controlled by the Nightmare Queen. She alone can control them and create them, that's what they believe, so unless they kill her the Nightmare Race will only continue to grow in numbers.

There is not much known about their origin and what they really look like underneath the pitch black aura. Heavens Fall might not be an important loss for the Starlian Kingdom but it is now a critical position to hold to overshadow the upcoming quest.
