MEK's POV 🇳🇬
I closed my eyes as I stood before my mirror; normal people looked into their mirrors to see their reflections, but I wasn't really feeling my reflection at the moment.
I had on a tight knee length black skirt that tucked in a red dress shirt, which was paired with red stilettos.
"Your aim is to show whoever it is that you are sexy and you're not afraid to show it. People like secretaries that know they are sexy and not afraid to show it," Cora had lectured. Sexy my black ass! I just wanted to bomb the interview and come back home.
I didn't care if I got the job or not. I mean, there should be other jobs that would be willing to accommodate me, right?
I took in a deep breath and looked back at the pretty woman that stared at me.
"Hi sexy person," I smiled at my reflection. Okay so maybe I liked how powerful I looked a little more than was allowed.
"Mek! You're getting late!!! I promise you, if you miss this interview, you'll be on your own," Cora's threats came in again. This woman had a thing for threatening me because she knew I couldn't do anything by myself. I wasn't really familiar with a lot of places yet, so I needed her.
I grabbed my bag immediately and ran to her. She was waiting for me by the door. I didn't know where the company was located, so Cora offered to take me.
Such a supportive friend.
"Good girl," Cora spanked my ass and locked the door after me. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Call me when you're done," Cora rested her hands on the steering wheel, with comfort in her eyes, while I'm sure I looked like I had a raging storm in mine. I nodded and waved her goodbye, making sure to walk as calmly as I could.
What was the Bad Bitch rule again? That's right! Never be caught not fresh.
I took in a deep breath and went straight to the receptionist, giving her my best "I'm a normal human being," look.
"Hi, how may I help you," the pretty dark haired woman, who looked to be around my age asked. All I could focus on was her distracting red lips, why it gotta be so red though? Vampire much?
I wasn't expecting her to speak to me in English, but this was an international company, so of course they'd hire people who could speak English fluently.
"Hi, I'm here for the interview?" I looked around me, while maintaining the smile on my face. The receptionist had a look on her face that I couldn't read. Did I look too good?
"Second floor, third conference room," she gave me light smile and I nodded. I easily found the room, because it was the only crowded room around the area.
"Do you know who's hiring?" A pretty brown haired girl asked her friend, another pretty brown haired girl.
"It's Mr S.A," she whispered; I thanked God for my sharp ears, I could literally do nothing without them.
"I'm not going to stay for the interview if it's him. Who's with me?" The lady's friend asked, and a few other ladies and men nodded their heads. About ten people followed this brown haired girl out, talking about how they could never work for him.
I was lost. This is why having friends, or even being friendly- no, looking friendly, was essential. It was one trait I did not have. I literally looked like I was about to murder everyone that blinked.
Who was Mr. S.A though? And why were people afraid of him?
A few minutes later, more people started to leave, and soon, the hall was empty, save the guy they had just called in. When the guy came out and saw me, he shook his head and wished me good luck. What in the sweet Africa was going on?
"I think that's all, the hallway is em- oh we have one more," I had never seen a man as attractive as the man that was staring at me with his pretty eyes and fine as fuck hair. His hair could rival all the wigs I owned, and I owned quite a lot.
"Please, come in," the fine specimen said to me. Who was he? Adonis?? Oh Lord!
I took a deep breath and followed the man into the conference room, only to be attacked by another fine man. The way he sat made him look like Zeus! It's Zeus right? Or who was the sexy god again?
"Sit," the first guy I saw offered. He has an easy smile playing on his lips. He was friendly. How did he do it? Fine, sexy, probably smart, and friendly?
The other big guy kept his eyes on me like I was prey. The chills I felt in my spine... I guess he was Mr.SA then, he looked mean and angry at the world. Who hurt you?
"Please introduce yourself," the friendly god smiled.
"Oh, right. Hi, Good morning, uh, My name is Mek Machu, and I'm here for the secretary position," that was poor, but who cares?
"I'm Cy Gataki, and this is Adonis Diamandis," I swear I tried to suppress my laughter. Adonis?
"Wait, you're not messing with me, right?" I asked them. The two men kept their eyes trained on me like I had gone mad. I couldn't blame them, I knew I had that mad woman vibes, I've always had it. But how could his name be ADONIS!!???!!! That was my nickname for Mr. Cy Gataki. Even his name was sexy.
"Are you okay?" Cy asked me. Oh my future boyfriend is already taking care of me.
"Yes," I smiled, hitting him with a Debby Ryan.
"Do you have something stuck behind your ears?" The deep accented voice shocked me. I looked up to Mr. ADONIS with wide eyes. I had to behave myself, I was misbehaving a lot. But can you blame me though, the man's name was ADONIS!
"No, I just-" I didn't even have the right words to explain what was wrong with me. Bad bitches don't act like that.
"I have one important question," that innocent smile Cy had was long gone.
"Why didn't you leave with the others?" He asked.
"Curiosity. I'm a very curious person, and I wasn't comfortable with any one to ask what was going on, and why they were leaving," I answered honestly. So they knew people were leaving? That's deep.
"Why do you want this job, Miss. Machu?" Cy asked. I started to feel like the position was for Cy and not Mr. ADONIS. Cy was asking all the questions.
"Honestly? I was bored. As you can tell, I'm a foreigner and although I love going out and taking pictures, it became tiring for me. I needed something that would take me out of my apartment without making me spend money; you see my line of work doesn't really require me sitting in an office. I could actually sit at home, whip up something and sell," I smiled at them. Cy looked from me to Mr. ADONIS, and Mr. ADONIS looked from me to Cy.
"You're a chef?" Mr ADONIS asked. What?
"What? No, I don't mean it like that. I'm a writer," I smiled at them. I'm sorry, but how dumb could he be to think I was a chef because I said "whip".
"Where are you from?" Cy asked.
"Nigeria," I smiled proudly. Mama Africa y'all!
"If I may, I have a question," I raised my hand. It reminded me of secondary school, where you'd have to raise your hand to ask any questions.
"Yes?"
"Well, I don't mean to pry, but what the deal with everyone leaving though? I mean, both of you seemed to be chill about people leaving," I asked them.
Cy laughed, but morphed it into a cough.
"If you knew, you wouldn't be here-"
"Cy!" Mr. Adonis called. It was more of a warning.
"Okay fine, sorry. It's just funny," judging from the way the two men interacted, it was clear as day that they had been friends for a very long time. And from what I noticed, Cy was the prankster, while Mr. Adonis was the- well you get the point.
I wasn't really sure the two men realized that I was still in the room with them. This was by far the most chilled interview I had ever attended, not that I have attended a lot, but still. Cy was trying had to make sure I didn't feel awkward, and it was working.
"So what do you think?" Cy asked Mr. Adonis, he had his hands pointed towards me as he kept his eyes on his friend.
Mr. Adonis was looking at me. I felt his eyes on me; I purposely looked everywhere but at him because I knew he was looking at me, but it was hard, because his eyes kept calling out to me. The force was too strong to ignore, so I looked back at him briefly, locking our eyes together in the process.
Mr. Adonis cocked his head to the side, like he was trying to figure me out.
"Go on," he nodded. Cy took a deep breath and if anything, his aura became more serious and dangerous, which meant I wasn't allowed to fuck up.
"We want you to take this job, but it's all you. If you can do it, then you have the job, and if not, you're going to sign a NDA, so you know it's a serious matter," Cy said in one breath. Wasn't this post for a PA? Or was it a secretary? They didn't even say anything about my credentials? Why would they offer the job to me when they didn't even see-
"Can I Touch you?" Mr. Adonis' deep voice shut down my brain.
No words, no thoughts, just empty head and vibes.
Mek POV 🇳🇬I walked out of the company feeling like I was in a dream, or maybe a movie? Because I know for sure that these type of things usually happened in dramas. It was too scripted to be true."Can I Touch you?" remembering the words Mr. Adonis had said after what made a shiver run through my spine.First off, I thought it was a trick question, you know? To know if I was attracted to the man in any way, so my answer on instinct was "No!"But the way Cy and his weird friend looked at me, it felt like I gave the wrong answer."When I say touch, I mean like your hands or hair, you know? Places like that," was it a fetish? Or an obsession? I was confused; it was creepy."No, that's weird," I shook my head."Adonis has a touching problem. He can't g
Mek's POV 🇳🇬I hugged the file in my hands to my chest as I kept my eyes on the tall silver building that was going to be my new source of livelihood. There was no way on earth that I was going to be bored in the place. I mean, I had a boss who couldn't go to the hospital to get treatment because of fear of being caught. The politics, the secrets, the drama! I was physically ready for all of it, because it was just like watching a drama on the television. I thought all these things only happened on tv, but I was offered a front roll ticket to everything, including the actors.I tucked a stray braid behind my ears, wiped imaginary dust from my black skirt, then made my way into the building.I smirked at the receptionist I met yesterday as I made my way to the elevator. The shock on her face was the highlight of my morning. Why did she look so surprised though? And
Adonis POV 🇬🇷"What in the heavens is wrong with you?" Father spat. I could feel his anger from across the desk that separated us. Quite frankly, that was the question I was still trying to find answers to. What the hell was wrong with me? "This is the sixth time you are doing this! Are you insane? Don't you know how to control your urges? How old are you? You think the company is a joke, or don't you know what is at stake here?" He raged on. There was nothing I could say or do other than keep my head low.I hated confrontations more than anything, so I'd rather shut my mouth and get it over with. I noticed arguing with humans never resulted in any positive results, so what was the use of trying to defend myself when I'd end up looking like a fool? I didn't talk much, everyone knew that; I hated talking to people, because the m
Mek's POV 🇳🇬It has officially been three months, three months since I moved to Greece from Nigeria, to start a new life. Not that there was something wrong with the life I had in Nigeria, no, there was nothing wrong, I just wanted a change, and I had been enjoying this change for the past three months. It felt like I was in a long term vacation, as all I did was go out to party, or shop with the only friend I had, Cora.Cora and I had met online, through Instagram. She's like a model or an influencer, because her page is filled with beautiful, hot and sexy pictures, pictures I could only dream of taking but never actually take in a lifetime. I had commented on one of her pictures, it was a picture of her with a bulldog she named Eros. We got talking and became friends. It took her a year and two months to convince me to move to Greece when
