Hospital: money is needed to saved a life

Martins continues coughing so hard and his dad was scared and Rita quickly rush to the kitchen to bring water and Martins condition get worsen.

“ Dad! I think we should take him to the hospital” Rita says.

“ His condition is getting worse” Rita says.

“ If anything happened to my son then Mirabelle will be blame for this because she supposed have been back since, I don’t what is keeping her so long” he says in anger.

“ This is not time to blame anyone dad, this time to look for a solution, let’s take Martins to the hospitals” Rita says and they rushed him to the hospital.

Thirty minutes later Rita and her dad got to the hospital and the nurses help them to take Martins to the ward and Rita and her dad was about to follow the nurses and the nurse stop them to wait outside and they both stood outside and they look worried.

“ I Hope Martins gets better” Rita says and her dad stare at her and he calm her down.

“ He will be fine, you should not worry dear” he says and Rita remembered Mirabelle.

“ This is all Mirabelle’s fault, I don’t know what took her so long to get back home” Rita says.

“ You should stay here, I will inform your mum about Martins condition” her dad says and Rita stood at the receptionist and her dad walks out to make a call, he dials Mirabelle’s phone number and it’s rings and Mirabelle’s mum quickly picks up the call.

“ Hello dear!” She says.

“ I am not fine right now” he says,

“ How do you mean?” She ask.

“ Martins is at the hospital right now,” he says and Mirabelle’s mum get shocked.

“ What happened to my son?” She ask.

“ Martins started coughing this morning and I ask that stupid daughter of yours to come as fast possible to your shop to get some money from you so I can get Martins some drugs and since then she hasn’t come back and Martins was coughing heavily so I had to rushes to the hospital so you have to come quickly” he says.

“ I will be there as soon as possible, I promise” she says.

“ But know one thing if anything happened to my son, Mirabelle will beat the consequences” he says.

“ Mirabelle has nothing to do with this” she she says and Rita’s dad already discontinued the call and Mirabelle’s mum quickly park and things and she prepared to go to the hospital.

Mirabelle got back home and she knocks on the door and there was no one to open the door for her and sue wonders what is going on and she walks to the window and she knocks in the window and no replies and one of their neighbors walks closer to her.

“ Mirabelle! How is Martins doing now?i heard that he was rush to the hospital” the neighbor says.

“ Martins was rush to the hospital?” She ask.

“ Yes!” The neighbors says.

“ What hospital is that? She ask.

“ I don’t know! You should know. Are you not Martins siblings?” The neighbor ask.

“ Sure! I am but I wasn’t around” she says.

“ Thank you” she says and the neighbors left and Mirabelle is already scared because her stope dad will blame and she does not have a cellphone to make a call and she stood in front of the house waiting for them to come back home.

Mirabelle’s mum got to the hospital and she saw Rita and her dad and Rita rush to her.

“ Mum!” Rita says.

“ Tell me how is Martins doing?” She ask.

“ We don’t know yet mum, the doctor hasn’t tell us anything about Martins condition” Rita says.

“ This is all Mirabelle’s fault if she had come on time, Martins she wouldn’t have been at the hospital” step dad says.

“Yes, it’s her fault” Rita says.

“ Why do you all keep on blaming Mirabelle, she streak to my place and you still blame her, she sacrificed and went out in the rain and you still blame her, what else do you want from her, she is your sister Rita, why do you hate her so much” her mum says.

“ Mum! You gave her all the love in this whole world and you expect me to be happy, only dad cares about me but you always care about Mirabelle” Rita says.

“ I do care about you dear and love you and Mirabelle equally but you have to understand that Mirabelle face a lot in her childhood, she did not have the love she was supposed to have” her mum says.

“ Just short up, all what I care about right now it’s my son in the hospital” Step dad says.

“ How did you give Mirabelle?” Step dad ask.

“ I gave her one thousand five naira ti gave to you” Mirabelle’s mum says.

“ She must have reach home and I am sure she does not know we are in the hospital and she does not have a cellphone I can call on, I think will need to get her one” Mirabelle’s mum says.

“ What mum? What about me? Why do you need to get Mirabelle a cellphone before me?” Rita says in anger.

“ Mirabelle is your elder sister and sue needs a cellphone since she is the one always running errands” her mum says.

“ You both to keep quite” step dad says and the doctor walks closer to them and they rush to him.

“ Doctor tell me what is happening to my son?” Step dad ask.

“ From the test we did, we realized that, your sim is suffering from TB” the doctor says and they got shocked and they all says “ What?”

“ TB” step dad says.

“ Yes TB” the doctor says.

“ But how was he able to contact TB?” Mirabelle’s mum ask.

“ Well, he could be from friends or from anyone and for now he needs an urgent treatment” the doctor says.

“ How much will the treatment cost us?” Step dad ask.

“ Well, it’s will cost a lot “ the doctor says and Mirabelle’s mum and stepdad stare at each other.

“ How much will it cost us?” Step dad ask.

“ Well, it will cost you two fifty thousand naira and you have to be fast and deposit the cash as soon as possible” the doctor says and they were short of words.

“ Doctor! Can’t you reduce the money, it’s much? How do you expect to have that kind of money? Where do you want us to get?” Step dad ask.

“ I don’t know sir but thsy his what the treatment requires and you have to deposit the cash as soon as possible” the doctor says.

“ Can we see him?” Rita ask.

“ Yes, but the nurse will take you to the wards and also I need to attend to a patient, you should let me know when you are ready” the doctor said and he left and in anger Step dad stare at Mirabelle’s mum.

“ Have you seen what Mirabelle cause for us?” He says in anger.

“ Where are we going to see that kind and f money?“ he ask in anger.

“ Even thought you sell for three month is still not enough for Martins treatment” he says.

“ Only of you were working as well, it will be easy for us” Mirabelle’s mum says.

“ What are you insinuating?“step dad ask in anger and Rita stood in the middle.

“ This is not time for argument mum, Dad, this is time to look for a solution” Rita says and Step dad stare at Mirabelle’s mum in anger and he left the hospital in anger and Mirabelle’s mum breaks in tears.
