Chapter 3

In the distance, Calista could see the blue and white balloons and lights hanging outside Reign and Lucas's house.

Since she hadn't been to this place in a year, she felt a sudden rush of anxiousness. Times when she and Nicolas were still visiting Baby Reid. Now she's the only one going, she has to put aside her anger towards Nicolas even if it's just tonight for Baby Reid.

Lucas turned to Calista. She received a warm welcome. "Hi, thanks for coming."

She felt relieved when she hugged Lucas. "Thanks Lucas."

"Come on, Baby Reid is waiting for you inside."

Calista smiled and followed Lucas into the house.

Inside the car, Nicolas felt different. He knew that he and Calista would see each other again tonight, after their unpleasant conversation a few days ago he seemed to doubt seeing her. He was aware that Calista wouldn't look happy to see him either.

"I didn't expect that your nephew is a year old now, Nicolas." Kevin said.

They are currently inside the car.

"Me too, I was shocked." he responded briefly.

"I'm sure when he grows up, he'll be a brave Bridgerfield too."

Nicolas sneered. "It's no wonder..." he suddenly remembered the times when Calista wanted them to have children. "What if I agreed to Calista's wish before for us to have children?"

Kevin fell silent. "Well, I didn't expect that you had such a plan then."

Nicolas couldn't answer, if he agreed maybe the wind would blow differently and now, he and Calista wouldn't be in this situation. Maybe now they live as a happy whole family.

"Alright. We are here.” Kevin said and then he eagerly hopped out of the car.

Nicolas came down, he approached Orvin. "Make sure the surroundings are safe. I don't want to ruin my nephew’s special celebration."

Orvin nodded and immediately gave orders to his men.

Nicolas looked inside of the house, he noticed that the couple also had many guests, and Calista was one of them.

He is wearing a black long sleeve which exposes his elegance and perfect body. He walks slowly down the hallway, seeming to pass the balloons and hanging lights.

He stopped for a moment and admired the lights. Calista accidentally went out with Baby Reid, she wanted to show the child the flashing lights outside but she was surprised by what she saw.

Nicolas looked at her, from head to toe. He was stunned by Calista's blue dress tonight; it seems that her beauty has not faded.

He wanted to speak but no words came out of his mouth.

"Babababa…" Baby Reid said, grabbing the attention of both of them.

"What did you say?" Calista asked Baby Reid in shock, but the boy just smiled.

Nicolas grinned. "He was happy and excited because he had seen you again."

Calista was silent. She didn't know how to respond to him so she just smiled a bit.

Nicolas took a blue balloon and held it close to Baby Reid.

Calista could smell Nicolas's scent, as if she was being crazy to it.

"Hi Baby, do you want this?" Nicolas asked Reid as if he was playing with it.

Reid raised his hand and stroked the balloons.

Calista smiled. "He likes it."

Even Nicolas smiled. He looked at Calista, and Calista looked back.

"You're so beautiful." Nicolas seemed to be out of control.

Calista suddenly blushed. She couldn't speak anymore.

"Oh hey, you’re here brother!" Lucas greeted me happily...

Calista took a deep breath, almost unable to control herself. If Lucas hadn't come then maybe he had something to say to Nicolas.

"Let's go inside so the celebration will begin." Reign said.

Calista smiled even though she felt uncomfortable because of Nicolas's approach. She seems to be going crazy with his perfect attire tonight.

They went inside together, and Baby Reid had many guests. They went straight inside the house.

"Wow, you have a lot of visitors, Baby Reid." Nicolas continued to talk to the child who was still being carried by Calista.

Reid raised his two hands, as if he wanted Nicolas to take him in his arms.

"Oh, do you want me to hold you?" Nicolas asked happily, Calista smiled as she handed Baby Reid to Nicolas and Nicolas accidentally grabbed Calista's hand.

Calista stopped, as did Nicolas. "Sorry." they said together and then felt awkward with each other.

A few moments later they started the celebration.

Calista could hardly move from her seat because she and Nicolas were next to each other. She seemed to get an electric shock every time their arms touched.

Everyone stood up because the candle on Baby Reid' cake was about to be blown out. There was also a picture taken, it was inevitable that Nicolas and Calista were together in the same photo with Baby Reid.

In the middle of the celebration, Nicolas and Lucas drank more and more, they almost took advantage of the opportunity to bond as siblings, as well as Orvin and Kevin, who happily talked while drinking whiskey.

Calista said goodbye to Reign for a moment to use the room because she was about to change her clothes. The weather is getting colder, she knows she is vulnerable to the cold so she needs to change into long sleeves and pants.

While Calista was going up, Nicolas noticed her. Nicolas couldn't stop himself and followed Calista upstairs.

Nicolas slowly opened the door where Calista entered. He saw that Calista was struggling to lower the zipper of her dress. He slowly approached Calista as he closed the door.

Calista gasped when she felt someone grab her waist. She was very familiar with that scent. She also memorized the heat of the breath she felt on her neck. She closed her eyes, she wanted to stop herself because she was getting more and more attracted to what Nicolas wanted to do.

"Nicolas please… don't do this." she moaned.

Nicolas didn't listen to her, he continued stroking her waist. Nicolas brought his face closer to Calista's neck. "I missed you so much..." he whispered.

Calista bit her lip. She couldn't understand why she couldn't stop herself from getting carried away by what Nicolas was doing.

"This is not right…" she said.

Nicolas finally wrapped his hands around Calista's body. He leaned his face on her shoulder. The two of them were just like that, Calista couldn't control herself anymore and she also caressed Nicolas's wrapped hands on her waist. Her eyes were still closed, feeling Nicolas's embrace on her back.
