Opening his eyes, the unwanted stranger lifted himself up while coughing heaps of blood from his mouth. His disheveled outfit became drenched with his very own blood. He looked around him only to find himself in a sea of pages with had brownish to maroon stains.
"Ugh..." he slowly straightened himself into a rod, nonchalantly- as if he just woke up early in the morning. He yawned and then stretched his tired limbs in the dusty air.A smirk escaped from his lips before standing up, when suddenly, he heard a voice speak to him."Hey man."He shifted his head to the corner to see nobody. His eyes squinted warily, until he realizes that whoever was speaking to him was apparently above."You finally woke up."Othello lunged from the top of the remaining bookshelves and landed on both feet flawlessly. He gives the man a pleasant smile, which of course- was something very deceitful."Things were rather very loThe chattering of the palace maids increased as the King passes by the halls with an envelope in his hand. The sheath of his sword was nowhere to be found and he wasn't wearing his robe.It was a surprise for them to see the King dress so casually. Usually, when he comes out of his room, he wears his princely vest along with his robe. He would always have the hilt of his sword peeking throughout the sheath that was attached to his belt as he glided through the golden halls. However, today was different. And what surprised them more was that he had ordered for the servants to prepare his carriage."Yuran, Ironfield." he called to the men trailing behind him. "Is the carriage prepared?""It is, Your Majesty." Yuran paused for a moment before asking the King another question. "Your Majesty, if I may ask, where will we be headed to?""To the forests of Erana." he nonchalantly tells them. "I wish to see something for myself."The captain p
Asty unlocks the door to the basement and shifted her head at the back to look at her brother Othello. His eyes were fixated on the basement door as he remembered the time when Lana prevented him from going inside."Brother..." she called out to him to get him out of his trance. "Are you okay?"He nodded at her. "I am. Is this it?" he pretended as if it was his first time seeing the path to the basement.Othello had remembered everything about the basement. He had grown and lived in the castle ruins during his entire teenage years."You told me before that there was a passage in this place that you did not recall the entrance would be. This is the passage you're talking about."He nodded at her. "Have you been going in here alone?"Asty lowered her head, Othello heaved a sigh. "Next time do not go in these kinds of places without me, do you understand?"
“Chaol did it. Chaol killed your father.”There was silence. Errol watches as the sibling’s breaths became uneven and how Asty’s eyes fell into despair. There s nothing in the air but the creeping dread that the vampire could not seem to shake. He watched from the corner as the consternation rises, leaving the siblings in a state of confusion, betrayal, and pain. The vampire looked at Robynn and hoped that the male would laugh and tell them that it was all a mere joke. But he didn’t.His eyes were fixated upon the two and he showed no signs of hesitation, positivity, or lies.Errol reached out to Asty’s shoulder, hoping to get an encouraging smile from her as she turned her head, like always- but she didn’t. The woman’s hopeful eyes were blank and her mouth was partly opened, showing her breathlessness.“A-Asty…”Asty removed the vampire&rsq
Asty walks into the silent halls with a stern look on her face. Even if the darkness was around her, the mourning inside her chest could never allow the fear to rise more.Lana had been peeking from the corners of the walls as Asty continued to walk. She wanted to approach her and ask what was wrong, but Lana couldn't. Asty seemed too distant for her to even ask."I know you're there."The maid jolted in surprise when Asty caught her. She smiled at her, but the maid knew that it was forced. She didn't seem too cheerful at all."A-Asty...""Hello, Lana.""You shouldn't be loitering around during the night." she heaved a high. "Remember that someone attacked you in the library, you should be more careful.""I know."Lana stared at her. The smile on her face was not the smile that told her: 'Yes, I understand.', but instead- it was 'It doesn't matter.'The maid frowned. "You don't seem to be very cheerful lately, Asty." she
There can only be two options where Chaol hid the keys to Robynn's chains.Asty's eyes darted onto the male's bedroom. Inside her, her heart was screaming that it was there. She pretended to walk past and forth from Chaol's bedroom, when suddenly it opens.Chaol stood before her, with only a towel covering around his waist. Asty almost trips on the floor, surprised. Her face suddenly turned beetroot as he turned over to her."O-Oh, hey." he greeted her.Asty raises a hand in the air, greeting him too. "G-Good afternoon, Chaol."Chaol noticed how the woman's cheeks flushed. He realized that it was because of him, shamelessly displaying his body at her. He only smiled at her and rubbed his wet hair."Have you seen Lana around? She hasn't replaced my robes and I have nothing to wear.""S-She's cleaning the yard—" she stammered. "Do you want me to get it for you?""Ah, nevermind." Chaol closed the door behind him. "I'll get i
It was 8:45 in the night. The cold wind is howling while the hooting of the haunting owls fills the air with dread and tension. Asty stared at the bright moon before her and took one last breath of the forest air.She rubbed the chilliness that was creeping in her arms and watched as the mist came out of her mouth when she exhaled."Let's do it one more time." she whispered to herself. She repeated his name over and over again inside her head, until the love subsided. She had hoped that by repeating his name, she would get used to it, and feel nothing as the pain won over her. She allowed the pain and betrayal to reign upon her as she had no other choice but to make things right.Chaol needed a push. As for somebody who had everything in this world, Chaol needed to lose something to feel the pain of the people around him. She needed him to realize; not to do those things again and again and again, if he didn't want to feel the same way.She
Blood dripping down, drenching the soil, Owl removed the blade that was stuck in his chest. He gazed at his opponent with a murderous glare and spat.Yvonne was already defeated and unconscious, and he was the only one left standing."Dumb, psychotic woman." he cursed under his breath, and wished that she would somehow respond to his insults- but she didn't. "Protecting me like that, how could you be so dumb and reckless?""Stop with the yammering and come at me." the sinister moonchild gestured at him to come closer. "This is making me yawn.""Who the hell are you..?" Owl asked him, with an exhausted voice. His body was almost on the brink of giving up. He couldn't even handle his blade anymore."Why should I tell you my name? We aren't even close, and I am not interested in men.""You remind me of someone so damn stupid." Owl snickered at him. "And I think you've already gotten your ass kicked by him once.""Oh, you mean Chaol? Of c
It was already dusk when Asty and her travel buddies reached the nearest civilization. With tired bodies, they continued to drag their feet until they could reach the village's entrance. The sentries, who immediately recognized Asty, allowed her to let in while Robynn and the other Night Hallows sneaked from behind the trees."Why are we hiding?!" Robynn hissed at Othello and Errol, irritated."We can't let those people see us. They don't recognize us and if we go along with Asty, it could bring her trouble." Errol answered him."Oh yeah, you've been here before, haven't you, vampire?"He sighed. "I have a name and yes, I used to sneak around to get inside.""This is where you met my sister?" Othello raised a brow at him, his brotherly instincts rising. "Are you perhaps interested in my sister, huh, Errol?!"The vampire looked away and shook his head. "It doesn't matter if I do and don't. Let's just shut our mouths if we don't want to get ca
