She Needs To Be Buried

Maverick's POV

"... She's dead" I heard Loren say.

I was going to hurt someone. I was going to hurt my beta if Ryker continued to take over. I was going to hurt everyone. How could she be dead? I wasn't going to allow it.

"Please, stop…" Loren pleaded again, holding his head.

Slowly, I tried to press down the force emitting from Ryker. The world had stopped its movement, and at the moment I heard Loren's words which seemed to affirm the doctor's, my heart had become weakened.

I could only stare at him with my lips parted open in denial of his words. Another would think that my focus was placed on him, but my entire thought was wrapped about the sudden departure of Brynlee.

I could see his lips moving, but I could definitely not hear a word which he spoke. My legs were weakened, and suddenly became numb to the extent that I staggered on the ground, falling down and leaning on the wall.

"I'm sorry, Ricky" I heard his words, but paid no attention to the things he had said.
