He Deceived Me

Brynlee's POV

"Your grip on the sword isn't firm. One lose grip could get you killed, Brynlee" Maverick said, hitting the sword from my hand.

" I hate when you train me! Ellen isn't harsh like you" I said, pouting.

"But she can't give you the 'cakes' afterwards. Isn't that why you are still sticking to me?" He said, licking his lower lips while making a finger gesture on the cake.

"C-ak-es? What cake?" I asked, feigning ignorance. Though my cheeks are beginning to heat up.

"You have forgotten? Let me remind you then," he said, smirking.

Before I could protest, he was already in front of me. His face close to mine as his breath grazes my neck, sending tingles all over my body.

"Maybe, I should just give you a bigger cake!" He said, lifting me off the ground.

"Mave! Put me down! The guards are watching!" I protested, trying to wiggle down.
