"Then can I be your mate?"

I stilled at Alpha Drew's question, my eyes not leaving him.

He suddenly chuckled. "It's a joke,"

"Are you sure?" I asked, cause his expression while saying that felt real and had no ounce of humor in them. His reply made it more confusing.

"What do you think?" He asked and my brows creased. What exactly is he thinking in his head?

We wrapped up our lunch and he saw me off to my room.

"Go in now and rest well." He said as we got to my room. I nodded, muttering a thank you before going in, still confused from the conversation we had while we ate. I don't know why, but I feel like Alpha Drew acts strange sometimes. I know he is nice and caring, but I feel like he wants something more. He is also against me going back to Alpha Jared.
