CHAPTER 74: Life's Threat

Ezekiel was left in a state of panic while still holding Serena's hand as she was being rushed to the emergency room.

"S-Serena, please hold on... Wake up, please!" Tears streamed down his face, falling from his eyes onto his cheeks.

He tried to talk to his wife, even though she was unconscious. Her eyes remained closed as she lay on the rolling bed. Red liquid continued to flow down her face and body.

As he observed, the sobs escaped from his throat. His chest tightened, making it harder and harder for him to breathe. His stomach churned, weakening his body.

"Sir, you can only go this far; we'll take care of her from here," a female nurse said, stopping him from entering a room.

He stumbled to a halt, watching Serena being taken into a room with the nurses, until the door closed.

He lost himself, leaning against the nearby wall, drawing strength from it to keep himself from collapsing onto the cold cement.
