Zoe’s POV

Two days had passed, and Helios’s father was discharged yesterday. We visited him and even had dinner with them.

I was amazed at how vast and elegant their house was. The Lincolns are really rich. However, I really wonder why they need to hire too many bodyguards. Don Lincoln is not the President of the estate, so why?

He killed the former President—ugh, here I am again, judging. I don’t know the whole truth nor the other side of the story, so I can’t pinpoint who’s who. But rumors had it, Don Lincoln killed the President.

The old man is still treating me coldly even if I told him that I was just joking the other day. Helios introduced me as his secretary at the same time, the woman he was coaxing. And will be his future wife.

Wife?

That sounds perfect every time he’s saying it. And I couldn’t help but feel flattered.

However, saying this in front of Don Lincoln seems like it angers him. He dislikes that idea—he opposes it right in front of us.
