Scarlett's POV:

Zelda placed the plate of mashed potatoes in front of me, Sonia handing me a cup of milk. I took the glass of milk and drank from it, the sweetness hitting differently on my tongue.

Gulping it all in one shot, they sat across me also feeding from their food. Max and the other two boys were outside doing who knows what.

" You know, I've always wanted to ask..."

Zelda began glancing up at me, there was this look on her face that I could not comprehend.

" Your father..."

" Zelda?" Sonia sneered.

Zelda slammed her mouth shut immediately and honestly I was glad she did. I mean why the hell would she have to bring up my father in a situation like this? And bringing old memories that I wouldn't want to remember.

I lowered my gaze to my food that I already lost my appetite to eat so I just pushed it away and got up.

" Cally?"

Oblivious of everything or anyone, I sauntered away and reach for my mom's room, the door was left ajar and through the open space, I peeked through the
