Ella had fallen asleep in his bedroom where it was covered by his scent. She didn't know why but she was calm and peaceful. She borrowed more books as she planned to go back to her room but then, remembering the cats in Hannah’splace, wanted her to go there.

The door opened and she was startled while she checked a few more novels.

“Oh, hey, dear.” Echo grinned. He lifted a bag. “These are new books. I have to go back to the office since there are problems that we need to take care of.”

She took the bag as he patted her head.

“I’m here to check on you. I made sure to put food in the fridge…”

“Are you going home tonight?” She asked as he crossed his arms and thought.

“That depends,” he said. “I mean, what are we doing tonight?”

“I wanted to see Hannah’s cats.”

“Well, we can check on the cats.” He said softly.
