Chapter 49

Asher pov

I and my mother both stare at the assistant in curiosity. Did the person tell you his name? My mother asked. No, ma, the assistant replied, bowing her head. Just bring the person in, I said. The assistant bowed and left us, leaving us to murmur in curiosity about who it was.

Some minutes later, the assistant came in with someone. He was black-skinned, tall, and had dark hair. Greetings, Alpha and former Luna, the stranger said, bowing to show his respect. Greetings to you too, I said, as I and my mother both looked at each other strangely.

What brings you here? Stranger, my mother asked. Am sorry to come without an invite of any kind, he said. Just state your business, I said in a frustrating tone. Some things happened in a nightclub about two weeks ago, which someone from your pack is involved in, the stranger said.

From our pack? My mother asked, looking surprised. Yes, and it is about your Luna, the stranger said, turning to look at me. Sophia again? At what point would her foolishness stop? She is getting out of hand.

My mother turned to me in disappointment, as I looked away to avoid eye contact with her. What happened, and what was her involvement in it? I asked, followed by a heavy breath of disappointment.

She was very drunk, which led her to start misbehaving and got into a fight with some of my pack members, the stranger said.

I felt my anger rising as I listened to the stranger's words. Sophia's behavior was getting out of control, and it was embarrassing our pack.

"What happened after the fight?" my mother asked, her voice stern.

"One of my pack members was injured, and we had to take him to the hospital," the stranger replied. "But that's not the worst of it. Sophia...she revealed some sensitive information about our pack's business dealings."

I felt like I had been punched in the gut. How could Sophia be so reckless?

"What kind of information?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.

The stranger hesitated before speaking. "She mentioned something about a potential merger between our packs. Something that was supposed to be kept confidential."

My mother's eyes widened in shock. "How did she even know about that?" she asked.

I shook my head, feeling a bit of betrayal. Sophia had been snooping around in pack business, and now she had put our entire pack at risk.

"I apologize for Sophia's behavior," I said, trying to salvage the situation. "I'll make sure she's punished for her actions."

The stranger nodded, seeming to accept my apology. "I appreciate that, Alpha. But I have to warn you, this incident has caused some tension between our packs. We'll need to work together to smooth things over."

I nodded, knowing that this was just the beginning of a long and difficult process. Sophia's actions had consequences, and it was up to me to fix the mess she had made.

"I understand," I said, my mind racing with the implications. "I'll make sure to speak with Sophia and get to the bottom of this. Can you tell me more about what happened that night?"

The stranger nodded, launching into a detailed account of the events at the nightclub. I listened intently, my anger growing with each passing moment. Sophia's behavior was unacceptable, and I couldn't believe she had put our pack's reputation at risk like this.

As the stranger finished his story, my mother stood up, her face stern. "I think it's time we had a talk with Sophia," she said, her voice dripping with disapproval.

I nodded, standing up as well. "I'll go get her," I said, already knowing that this conversation was going to be a difficult one.

As I left the room to fetch Sophia, I couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. Why did Sophia always have to cause so much trouble? And how was I going to fix this mess?

I left the mansion looking depressed, as I drove off to look for Sophia. I reached my house, storming into the room angrily. "Sophia! Sophia!!" I yelled, slamming into every room in the house.

My alpha, the Luna isn't around," my maid said, rushing to me in a surprising look.

"Where is she?" I yelled, walking closer to her.

"I don't know, my alpha," my maid said, shaking and moving backwards. "She came and dropped some package and left with her friends."

"When she is back, let me know," I said, going out of the house.

I stood in front of my car, confused, wondering where she would be. Just when I was deep in thought, my phone buzzed, bringing me back to reality. It was Johnson.

"Hello, bro, what is wrong?" I asked.

"Hey, alpha, we are having fun here," Johnson said with a lot of loud music in the background.

"Bro, I am not in for all of this," I said, urgently looking for Sophia right now. "I said, scratching my head."

"Is it the Sophia that is with us or which other one?" Johnson said with a loud voice, as the loud music in the background couldn't stop.

I was shocked, as I couldn't say a word.

"Hello? Are you there?" he asked.

"Yes, I would be there right away," I stammered, searching my car keys in my pocket.

I quickly got into my car and started the engine, my mind racing with thoughts of Sophia and what she might be up to. I sped off towards the location of the loud music, my heart pounding in my chest.

As I arrived at the club, I could hear the thumping music and see the flashing lights. I got out of my car and made my way inside, scanning the crowd for any sign of Sophia.

I spotted Johnson and Loid on the dance floor, surrounded by a group of people. I made my way over to them, my eyes scanning the crowd for Sophia.
