Chapter 48

Asher pov

We both stare at each stoll shock at the massive figures.

"You see what I'm facing, bro?" I said to Johnson, with a pitiful face.

"This is getting out of hand," Johnson said, looking angry. "What type of expensive lifestyle is she living like this?"

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to balance the scales," I said, as we watched my assistant leave us.

We shook our heads and entered the car, driving off. We went to a nearby bar, and as we arrived, we called Loid to come and meet us. An hour later, Loid came.

"Welcome, my beta," Johnson said, bowing down as he saw Loid.

"Good day, my alpha," Loid said, bowing to me.

Loid and Johnson looked at each other and immediately smiled, giving each other a hug.

"Welcome back, my bro," Loid said, with a happy tone. "You are looking good."

"And you too, my man," Johnson said, as they both looked at me, letting out a big laugh. "It looks like you're even living better than the alpha himself!"

I smiled, shaking my head. "You two are something else," I said, chuckling.

Loid and Johnson sat down, still grinning at each other. "So, what's the plan?" Loid asked, turning serious.

I leaned in, my expression matching his. "We need to talk about Sophia," I said.

Loid's eyes narrowed. "What's going on with her?"

Johnson filled him in on the latest developments, including the large withdrawal from the pack's account.

Loid's face darkened. "This is getting out of hand," he said. "We can't let her continue to drain the pack's resources."

I nodded in agreement. "I know. But I need your help to figure out what to do about it."

Loid nodded. "We'll get to the bottom of this. Together."

The three of us sat there, sipping our drinks and brainstorming ways to deal with Sophia's reckless spending. It was going to be a long night.

As we sat there, discussing Sophia's antics, I couldn't help but feel a load of frustration. How could one person be so reckless and selfish?

Loid leaned in, his voice low. "Alpha, I think it's time we had a talk with Sophia. A serious talk."

Johnson nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's time to put our foot down."

I sighed, rubbing my temples. "I know. But I'm not looking forward to it."

Loid placed a hand on my shoulder. "We'll be with you, alpha. We'll face her together."

Just then, my phone buzzed. I glanced at the screen and my heart skipped a beat. It was a text from my mother.

"Son, I need to see you. What is this am hearing?."

I felt a load of surprise. Maybe she could have heard? And that is?

I looked up at Loid and Johnson, my mind racing. "It seems I have another situation to deal with."

Loid raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "It's my mother. She wants to see me."

Johnson's eyes widened. "Your mother? As in, for real?"

I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. What going to happen? And how would my mother react when she found out?

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. "I'll go see her," I said finally. "But I have no idea what she wants."

Loid and Johnson exchanged a concerned look. "Do you want us to come with you?" Loid asked.

I hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of me wanted to face my mother alone, but another part of me wanted the support of my friends.

"No, I'll go alone," I said finally. "But thanks for offering."

Johnson nodded. "We'll be here, waiting for you. Let us know if you need anything."

I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards my friends. I stood up, smoothing out my clothes. "I'll go see what my mother wants."

As I walked out of the bar, I couldn't help but feel a bit of fear. What did my mother want? And how would she react when she found out about Sophia's spending habits?

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. I was ready to face my mother, no matter what she had in store for me.

I arrived at my mother's mansion, feeling a bit of unease as I stepped out of the car. The mansion loomed before me, its glory and richness a reminder of my family's wealth and power.

I took a deep breath and walked towards the entrance, where my mother's personal assistant greeted me.

"Alpha, your mother is waiting for you in the study," she said, bowing her head.

I nodded and followed her to the study, my heart pounding in my chest. What is it with my mother I saw her morning and again this.

As I entered the study, my mother looked up from the papers on her desk. Her eyes narrowed as she took in my expression.

"Ah, Asher," she said, her voice dripping with disapproval. "I see you're still looking a bit rough around the edges."

I felt a surge of annoyance at her comment, but I bit back my retort. I knew better than to argue with my mother when she was in this mood.

"Mother," I said, bowing my head. "What did you want to talk to me about? I thought we have already spoken in the office"

My mother leaned back in her chair, steepling her fingers together. Sophia again? "I've been hearing rumors about Sophia's spending habits," she said, her eyes glinting with disapproval. "Care to explain?"

I felt a sense of fear as I realized where this conversation was going.

I took a deep breath and launched into an explanation of Sophia's antics, leaving out no details. My mother listened intently, her expression growing darker with each passing moment.

When I finished, she leaned forward, her eyes blazing with anger. "This is unacceptable, Asher," she said, her voice low and menacing. "You need to get Sophia under control, and fast."

I nodded, feeling a bit of relief that my mother was taking this seriously. "I agree, Mother. I've already spoken to Loid and Johnson about it. We're going to have a talk with Sophia and get her spending habits under control."

My mother's expression softened slightly, but her eyes still flashed with anger. "See that you do, Asher. I won't have our family's reputation tarnished by Sophia's reckless behavior."

I nodded, feeling determined. I would get Sophia under control, no matter what it took.

Just then, my mother's assistant knocked on the door. "Excuse me, Alpha," she said, "but someone is here to see you."
