329. In The Mood

After changing her clothes…,

Heidi went downstairs to find Lucas sulking on the couch. On a closer look, he wasn't actually sulking.

There was a deep frown on his face as he stared at his phone.

He seemed to have just finished making a phone call.

His displeasure might be due to the phone call he just made, or probably due to her brutal rejection.

Uhm, was she supposed to feel guilty?

“Ehm, I'm ready.” Heidi cleared her throat to get his attention. “Can we leave now?”

Lucas didn't look at her. He nodded absentmindedly, and stood up, taking her hand and leaving the house with her.

Heidi watched his back, unease settling in.

Was he mad at her?

Her eyes would stray to his side profile now and then as he drove the car out of the Villa's gates and down to the city.

The bodyguards took separate cars. One car behind them, and one car ahead of them.

“Is this necessary?”

Heidi didn't need to ask that question, she just wanted to strike up a conversation, to know what was bothering him.
