Lucas became silent, only his heavy breathing sounding from the other end, evidence that he was bottling in his rage.

“You think I'm lying?”

“I believe you're lying.”

Then she hung up, the beeping sound of the phone resounding in Lucas's ears.

He stared at the phone's screen for a while, his jealousy kicking in.

Probably, Heidi had feelings for that guy… the reason why she would never believe he'd do such a thing.

Lucas dropped the phone and lifted his head, glaring at the secretary standing across from him. “You said this would work.”

“I only suggested we give it a try, Mr. Harrison.” Amanda sighed. “At least, you were able to give Ms. Olsen- I mean, Mrs. Harrison a heads-up.”

“What's the use in doing that when she doesn't believe me?” Lucas stood up and paced back and forth.

Inside the huge skyscraper of the GK Group, he stopped by the window and looked up at the dark sky, a reflection of the dark storm in his eyes.

“Mr. Harrison, I have another suggestion.” Amanda approached him.
