Heidi shuddered, fright jolting her heart.

She staggered to her feet, stuttering, “Grandpa, H-How did you-”

“You thought I wouldn't keep an eye on you!” Grandpa Jeffery hit the desk, and Heidi flinched. “I have been communicating with the yacht captain, okay? He reported every single situation on that Island.”

Heidi swallowed- nothing.

Her throat dried up, not helping the devastation causing her to lose gallons of fluids in the form of sweat. “Grandpa, I can explain…”

“I don't want your explanation.” Grandpa Jeffery raised his hand. “I was planning not to bring it up, knowing you won't disappoint me and reunite with that Harrison boy. But since you hesitate about the wedding, I have this feeling of doubt.”

“There’s nothing between Lucas and I. Grandpa, please believe me,” Heidi said desperately. “Don't listen to what the other people say.”
