Siren turned her head onto the person who's touching the same dress she's holding.
"I like this." The smile of the woman holding the dress was as bright as the dress she was holding.
Her desire to wear the red dress can be seen. And it didn't seem to notice his presence.
"I'm sorry, but I think you got it wrong. This dress is mine." Raised an eyebrow she said to the woman.
When she said that, the woman looked at her. It was obvious in her eyes that she did not like what she said.
"Reena?"
When she turned to the woman's companion, she immediately recognized Conrad's younger aunt. Claudia.
She could clearly see the gradual tilt of one of the woman's eyebrows. Obviously she also didn’t like their meeting out of nowhere.
"Wait, Reena? As in Reena the maid?" Meryll looked at her fi
SIREN'S POVI seem to have tiny pinches feeling in my heart. Why now? Why do I even need to feel that he is sincere in what he says? Can't he just let me be angry with him forever? Why does he have to upset my feelings? Why does he have to start messing up my life again?I've been okay for a long time. I'm used to not seeing him. I was able to overcome the pain because of what he did to me before. Why does he have to bother me again now? When I felt that I was about to fall into him again, I forced myself to get up from my seat."I think I need to leave. I wouldn't have come with you here in the first place." I said. But even before I could turn around, I felt him holding my arm again."Please, let's talk properly, don't let this end this way." He said gently. Seems to entice me to listen more. But I knew in my heart, I had to end it.
Third person's POVWhile driving home, Conrad couldn't help but think of what Reena had said earlier. And at some point, he knew she was right. He shouldn’t have forced her to his liking. Even though he knew the girl was angry, he forced her to listen to what he wanted to say without even considering her feelings. So now he can't blame her if she keeps getting mad at him.Now the distance between them seemed to be getting it's gap.She even said they should act like strangers when they meet again, It's not a suggestion or request, but a command. Words he never expected to hear from the woman.Maybe he really made a mistake getting to know her. Or perhaps it was well because of what had happened so she became indifferent to her dealings with him.Conrad sighed. He stopped for a moment at the intersection when his cellphone rang. Meryll is the caller. He sig
Siren let out a deep sigh as the door finally closed. But before she could move from her position, someone suddenly grabbed her arm.Shock was on her face upon recognizing the person. It's Felix."Let's talk." It's not an invitation but a command."If you'll only going to convince me to what Dad says, you're wasting your time. I won't be convinced. I won't come back here so there's no reason for us to talk. So will you please let go of me?" She said sternly."How can you be so stubborn?" He said with a furrowed brows."What do you think you're doing?" She sneered, shrugging his hand holding her arm. "Let go of me!""I won't, unless you listen to what I have to say." The man said. She glared back at him. "Stop putting up a show like you don't mind what Dad said. Come on, Felix. I know how unwelcome I am to you. Why
The Secretary who answered her call said that Conrad was at a site near the beach to inspect a facility there. She hurriedly asked Diana to take her to the place where he is.Though she was confused with her sudden mood, she dared not to ask her what was going on.When she discovered the contents of the flash drive, it conveyed a mixed of emotions that she could not explain. She needs to face Conrad now. She may not be able to cope if she postpones the desired confrontation with the man.She felt her eyes become teary. There seemed to be something heavy that slowly rising in her chest. It looks like she will explode in a few moments.Because of her thoughts, she didn't noticed Diana's sudden speed of driving.--------Diana stomped hard on the gas as she continued to glance in the rear view mirror. A white ceiling exposed her sight as she opened her eyes. When she forced herself to turn to her side, she saw a man reading a book.Perhaps he felt the commotion she had created, he looked up at her.Without a word he pressed a button and spoke."She's awake." He says."Where am I?" She asked the man.Because of the pain she felt on the side of her head, she run her fingers to her head. There is a bandage. Her head was bandaged."You're in the hospital. How are you feeling?" He asked before stroking her forehead. She gave him a confused look before speaking. "Why am I here?""Don't you remember?"She could not answer.Remember? Why does her mind seem blank? Why does she seem to rem
A loud shake on her shoulder woke Siren up.She caught her breath as she opened her eyes. The expression on the man's face, still holding her shoulders, was full of concern."What's wrong?" Its a worried question. He immediately helped her to sit up properly. He quickly reached for the bottled water on the side table and helped her drink."You're having a nightmare. It's a good thing I woke up right away when I hear you muttering." He said not knowing whether to caress her head or to hold her hand. Eventually he grabbed her by the arm. "Are you okay?"She looked up at the man.A stranger was in front of her now. Although she felt strange about it, she saw the spark of concern in his eyes. She was about to speak when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. Reason for her to tweak
..Conrad stared intently at the scene on the other side of his glass wall. But none of that caught his attention. His mind was flying somewhere and he wasn't sure what his mind was really running.A tight hug from his back brought back his senses. Even if he doesn't look back at who owns that arms, he's sure that it was his fiancée whose hugging him."What are you thinking?" She asked him.Conrad cleared his throat before removing her arms wrapped around his waist."What are you doing here?" He asked without any emotion. He walked back to his desk and didn't even look at her. He felt the woman followed him."Because I miss you. Is it wrong for me to visit my fiancé in his office?" She carelessly sat on his desk."As you can see, I'm still busy at work. You shoul
Holding back the tears, Meryll leaned herself against the back of the door. For the last minute, she hopes that Conrad will knock and will ask her to talk to him properly. She was confident that her boyfriend will not gonna let this misunderstanding come in between them. She knew that he loves her and he would be the first to find a way to settle their misunderstanding. But all of her hopes turn into disappointment when she heard his footsteps away.Everything seemed to be slowly deteriorating to her when she realized that Conrad was really serious in his words earlier.Meryll sat on the floor in a daze. Her knees softened as her tears kept falling. What the hell is going on?----------Vicente Rodriguez handed the thick envelope he was holding to Jeff."I'll entrust the contents of that envelope to you
A smile was wiped from Madison's lips as she saw the familiar vehicle in the villa's garage. When her car was parked, she immediately got out to confirm her suspicion. When she entered the house, she was a little surprised that there was no Mrs. Carlson to greet her. She looks so confused as she finally entered the household. "Where have you been?"She almost jumped when suddenly a loud voice spoke. Only to find out that the man who just asked her were standing on the stairs. Seriously looking at her. "Arthur?" She almost stuttered. What is Arthur doing here? "I'm asking you. Where did you come from?" He asked as he started to walk down the stairs. She took a deep breath as she spoke. "I just wander around the corner.""Around the corner?" He repeats when he finally get down and they face each other. "Where's that around the corner?"In Madison's eyes, even though the man looked chill and composed, she knew that was not really what he had in mind. "Do I really have to tell yo
Her heart suddenly skip a single beat without her knowing why. Although still smiling, the confusion on Madison's face was obvious as she turned to the man. "Leaving?" She repeats. "Just a moment and the sun will go down, we can leave later."Conrad smiled. Smile that she could not understand. "What I mean is, I'm going back home. My vacation is over."Madison was stunned for a moment. She couldn't think of anything to say. She felt awkward because of the moment of silence so she just turned her eyes in another direction. "Good to know." She just said that. "When's your flight?""The day after tomorrow." The man answered. "Ah.""Madison?""Hmm?""Thank you.""What for?""For everything. For accompanying me. For apologies, and for the memories."Even though she wasn't looking at him she knew Conrad was looking at her now. So she suppressed the urge to turn in his direction. She doesn't want to be wrong. "You're welcome." She says. "Madison?""Yes?" She answered before finally tu
Two, three, four to the fifth day. They have toured almost all the tourist spots in Zagreb, the country's capital. They have almost no idea where to go next. Every restaurant, street foods and other pastry shops have been visited and tried by them too. "Where do you want to go now?" Conrad asked her as he drove the car. "I can't think of anything else. I think we've been to every places we can go to." She replied. "Is that all?" He asked with a frown. "Hmm.""How about we get on the yacht? Sailing at sea, then." He suggested. "Yacht?" She asked. "Are you in?" The excitement was painted on his face. "Sure. I think it's better to watch the sunset when you're on a yacht. It's a different feeling when you're in the water than on the ground when you're watching the sunset." Smiling, she said. Her eyes were focused ahead so she didn't notice the moment Conrad's gaze turned to her. The man smiled in amazement at what she said. However, he never spoke again. ---***Felix stopped wa
They thought to visit some of the famous museums and restaurants that day. Madison noticed that as long as they were together and talking, she also got to know the man in a way he didn’t intentionally show. The day passed without her being aware of it. Somehow, it also makes sense to talk to the man. He's also easy to get along with though he loves to spill some daddy jokes everytime. And true to his words, all expenses including her daily wage are the all charged to him. "Why don't you want me to take you home?" Conrad asked as he stopped the car on the side of the road. "It's also a waste of the fare if you have to ride home.""Nevermind. My house is just around the corner." She refused as she got out of the car. "Are you sure?"She rolled her eyes. "Yes.""Okay. Just be careful going home. Call me when you're home." He ordered that makes her raised an eyebrow. She grinned at him. "Do I have to tell you if I'm home or not?" She asked. The man smiled as he scratched his forehe
‘My wife is going to give birth that day. The baby she will give birth to is a pre-mature baby so she has to be taken to a bigger hospital. We were on the road when we suddenly heard a series of gunshots so in fear I stopped my pick-up truck on the curve and thinking about turning back. But I saw that Margarita was bleeding. I was afraid that something worse would happen to my wife and my son so I carefully thinking what to do first. When I was sure the gunshots were gone, I went back. A few meters away on the curve, I saw a car. Black and looks expensive. But the windshields are all destroyed. I did not catch up with the culprits, but I saw a woman lying on the ground. A few meters from the car. Fearing that we will get into trouble, I planned to leave the woman alone. But I felt sorry for her. I thought we would go to the hospital too, so I decided to go back and take her with us to the hospital. ' Peter narrate the whole thing. 'When we got to the hospital, I first took my wife
Mrs. Carlson slowly opened the door of the room. The woman sleeping in the bed reflected in the dark surroundings. Its deep breathing was listened to carefully in silence. He knew the woman was sound asleep. Probably tired of what was done wherever it went before. He has also been late for Madison's outing for a few nights. He knows it’s careful in action so he doesn’t matter but what it doesn’t know is that he sees its every move. She just waits long enough to let Arthur know everything is going on. He closed the door again and then silently went to the kitchen. He took the jar containing the sugar from the pantry and then pulled a small bottle out of his pocket. He mixed the white powder with the sugar and then shook the meat to make it thicker. He then covered it and returned it to the pantry. He also put away the small bottle and then threw it in the trash. He left the kitchen and then went to his own room to continue sleeping. ***'Let's meet this afternoon at three o'cloc
...Conrad just sighed because of what the woman said. He wanted to answer what she said but he knew to himself that he needed to lengthen the cord of his patience a little. After all, what shee said was true because he was in arrears. So even with the taste of the woman's anger, he still restrained himself. He would not allow the opportunity he had waited for so many hours to be lost because of her words. "Hey ..." He chased to block her path. "What is it that you want?" Glaring, she says. "If you don't leave me alone, I will call the cops and I will say you are harassing me." She even threatened him. "What?" He was stunned. "And why would I be harassing you? You're not my type and you're not that pretty either." He says. "Then, why are you following me? What do you need?" She placed her hands on the both side of her waist in front of him. "Let me tell you, I don't have time to fool around right now. So you better leave me alo--""I came here to apologize to you." She was cut
Madison went home still enraged by what had happened at the restaurant earlier. She was greeted by the astonished look of Mrs. Carlson but she just ignored her. She immediately went straight to her room and slammed the door shut. But instead of doing anything to release her anger, she just forced herself to calm down. In fact, she was not angry because she was fired, but because the reason was irrational. She could not have imagined that after more than a year of working there, only a man like that would destroy her credibility and reputation of her work. "I hate you!" She shouted remembering the man. In her mind, she had wanted to kill him several times. ***Conrad rolled his eyes inside the bar. He had been going back and forth there for two nights, so the bouncer and the bartender got familiar to him immediately. "Whiskey?" The bartender asked as he sat on the counter stool. "I prefer vodka tonight." He replied. In his mind, he wanted to estimate how much time he would spend
Wearing his casual clothes, a cap and his sunglasses, Jeff came out of the room he was occupying in that hotel. It was three o'clock in the afternoon so he knew the sun was not that hot outside. He had felt hungry earlier but he didn't bother to order from room service because he didn't like the food offered at the hotel restaurant. He took the elevator while wondering what food he could eat outside. When he reached the ground floor, as soon as the opening of the elevator where he was, also the opening of another elevator on the opposite side.Jeff furrowed his brows as he recognized the man exiting the elevator. Although he's not actually facing him, he knew he couldn’t be wrong, it was Conrad Younas. He got stunned for a moment as the flash of Siren's face crossed his mind. The same day when he revealed Conrad Younas’ connection to Siren’s pregnancy, was also the same day when the incident of Diana’s death and Siren’s disappearance occurred. For a moment he wanted to be suspicio
