5. Recovery

I woke up on the sound of heart monitor again, I recalled everything that happened, the note, gas bombs, getting shot. I looked around me and found Alexander sitting beside me and I tried to sit up but Alexander stopped me immediately.

"stop, Natalie don't move, don't push your luck. " Alexander said.

"what are you doing here?" I asked Alexander.

"I saved your life, after the shooting I brought you here," Alexander said.

"Jake, Nick, Eleanor where are they?" I asked. 

"The brothers are nowhere to be found, and the little girl is with this Ella of yours, " Alexander answered.

"thank God," I said.

"now do you believe me? do you believe that your husband is just as dirty as us? " he said and took a lock of my hair in his hand.

"That depends on who's us, " I said. 

Alexander laughed and said "me, you, your family, my family, every single one of us is dirtier than the other, "

"then why save me?" I asked and Alexander was totally taken back by the question.

but his phone saved him, it rang exactly after I asked, he took it out and answered, then he headed to the door but I stopped him.

"Alex, you didn't answer my question, " I said. 

"believe me, I don't know why " Alexander answer. 

2 hours later I started to get bored of being alone and suddenly the nurse came and gave me my favorite book and I told her that I didn't ask for a book, she said that these are Mr. Knight orders, I started reading the book.

the door opened a little, and I saw two dolls, and I knew they were Dominic and Danielle.

"ahh, I think we lost our way," the first doll said.

"that's the address." the second doll said and I started laughing. 

"Look, she's the sleeping princess." The second doll said.

"But she is not sleeping." The first doll said.

"Who are you," I asked and looked at them.

"ahhh, Ummm." both dolls hesitated to answer and I laughed even more.

"We are the dwarves of the village, I'm tiny and this is my sister shiny, we were looking for Princess Natalie." the first doll said.

"are you sure you are dwarves because you both are too tall to be dwarves," I said and smiled.

"We Found Her ... We Found Her." both dolls said and then Dominic and Danielle entered the room and I laughed so hard that I almost opened my wound.

"no way, don't tell me you knew it was us," Danielle said.

my family came and checked on me, after what it comes to 2 hours Jake arrived and it was obvious he got himself in trouble his face was full of bruises, and his shirt with blood, he sat beside me.

"Tasha, Thank God you're okay." Jake said and took my hand.

"Jake, what is happening?" I asked. 

"Baby I'm so sorry, I promise this won't happen again but please don't ask me this question, because I won't have an answer." he kissed my hand.

3 days later. 

I didn't hear from Alexander since the day he saved me and I was back home with Jake, Nick came to visit us and they went upstairs to talk.

then I felt cold so I went upstairs to get a sweater, and I heard them yelling so I stood behind the door to hear them.

"Did she suspect anything?" I heard Nick asking. 

"No, she didn't," Jake answered. 

"speaking of which, did you hear from Marco?" Nick asked.

"No, he is still feeling bad for doing this to Natalie," Jake answered and he used my real name.

"I just want to know what he did, you're the one who did all the work, you married her, tricked her that you don't know who she is or who her family is," Nick said and I put my hand on my mouth to shut a gasp.

"Yeah that's right but if we didn't put him on her way in the first place we would never have got her," Jake said.

"I don't get it, Nick, I mean we killed her brother Nicholas and we gave her a scar on the face, or do you want me to remind you who was behind the accident, what is there left to do to her so the family would pay," Jake said and a tear escaped my eye, They killed my brother.

I went to my room and got my gun out, I took a bag with some cash and clothes and my passport in it and went downstairs and as soon as I got there I pointed my gun at Jake.

"Tasha, what is happening?" Jake asked. 

"my brother, you bastard, my brother," I screamed, Jake and Nick, exchanged looks then Jake turned his attention back to me.

"Natasha, whatever you heard" I interrupted him and asked, " why, why call me that, since you know my real name?"

"Which one of you? hmmm, who is the bastard who killed my brother?" I screamed at them both. 

"I did," Jake answered.

I chuckled " so I'm married to my brother's murderer."

I got crazy and shot Jake, he fell to the ground, and Nick was about to get his gun out but I pointed my gun back at Jake and threatened "if you do one move, one, I swear I'll shot him again." and with that Nick held his hands in surrender and I bolted out of the house and took a cab, and my wound opened from running, and I thought about dialing Ella but maybe she works with them too so I called Danielle instead because she lives alone, she answered and in 30 minutes I was at her apartment.

"Nat, What happened?" Danielle asked and looked at my wound her eyes widened.

"They Killed him," I said and entered the apartment and sat on the couch.

"killed who?" Danielle asked and followed me.

"Nicholas, they killed him, Jake killed him." Danielle looked at me with shock and sat beside me on the couch.
