He coughed, "dragon's breath."
Gunther glanced up at the stairs to where the vampire had his mate in chains.
Not long after, the dirty-looking girl was standing before the Delta.
"What did you do?" She asked, her voice trembling.
"There is no time to explain, you have to come with me," Gunther told her.
"Why should I trust you? I am nothing but a human."
"You are my mate. It is my duty to protect you. But I promise, if you come with me, I will never hurt you."
Before the girl could respond, the vampire was standing by her. He had a smile on his face and an evil glint in his eyes.
He placed a hand on the girl's head, turning it slowly so that her wide eyes can stare at him.
