"So today, we will learn the history of Timber wolves." Mrs Wolfman said, writing the words on the whiteboard.
(Pay attention girl!) A voice yelled close to Hayley Blackwater's ear, causing her to jerk in her seat and virtually falling out of it.
She looked around to make sure nobody noticed, fearing that it would be added to weird things she did.
"Coming from a mysterious origin. The Timber wolves were the most powerful. Notorious and well feared, because of their ruthlessness, and extraordinary abilities. Along with their uncaring nature.""It was said that they derive from lycans, hence why they stand on their hind legs instead of all fours, except for the Alpha. Unfortunately, their entire pack was wiped. We don't know what the reasons were, and that’s all we know about them.’’
Someone at the front of the class raised their hand. "So, they don’t have a male or female to breed with to repopulate?"
"Not one, Davina." The teacher shook her head.
"Sounds like Hayley." The girl responded, causing everyone to laugh and stare at Hayley as if she had two heads and horns.
"I don't care, I really don't." Hayley said, folding her arms to stare out the window.
At a young age, Hayley wondered why no one seemed to like her, but the older she got, the clearer it became. She differed from everyone around, where she had no wolf. She was ostracised because of this. Mocked and made fun of by her peers, as the elders turn a blind eye and treat her as if she had a disability.
The bell finally rang, and a stream of students rushed out of the classroom. Hayley waited for everyone to exit before doing the same.
When she stepped into the hall, someone pushed her to the ground, causing all of her books to scatter to the floor.
''Watch it, you wolfless piece of crap!" Davina's voice rang out in the hall, drawing attention to them.
''Why don't you just stay down? That's where you belong,'' She said.
But Hayley, being Hayley, ignored her and picked up her belongings, then got to her feet only to get kicked in the back, causing her to fall to the ground again.
''I said to stay down!''
''Alright, alright. Break it up,'' A teacher yelled.
The females hovered over Hayley. One spat on the ground as a form of insult before walking away.
"Are you alright, Hayley?" Mr Howling asked, helping her to her feet.
She didn't respond after first, but when the teacher persist, she nodded.
"I'll survive. It's not like I'm not used to it."
"Use to it or not, you shouldn't let them bully you like that."
"Yeah, well. I guess when you are wolfless, it doesn't matter."
"That's a load of bullshit. You are not wolfless, just a late bloomer. You are still a member of this pack and should be treated no less."
Hayley scoffed, "yeah, try telling that to everyone."
"Get home safe." Mr Howling touched her on the lower back.
"Sure." Hayley said, shouldering her bag, hugged her books to her chest, walked out into the evening air and followed the path home.
Her shoes made a soft clicking sound on the pavement, which was still wet from the rain this morning. And with the rain came the chill, which blew off the snowy mountains that surrounded their territory.
Even though Hayley didn't live too far from school, she was, at times, scared to walk home by herself; she didn't trust the forest she had to walk through. Not because other were-kind lurked close by, but because of her tormentors that found it funny to make her life hell.
There was a crunching sound. Hayley looked behind her, but saw nothing when she looked forward again. There Davina was, along with her cronies, who all had nasty smiles on their faces.
"Hey Hayley." Davina's hazel eyes glowed as her elven-shaped face twisted with her wolf's.
"Davina, Kora, Grace.'' Hayley nodded at them.
She could see Grace hiding something behind her back as they stepped closer to her.
Hayley turned to bolt in the direction she was coming from, but with her being human, and them being wolves, they easily caught up with her.
Hayley could feel someone getting a hold of her bag pack, pulling her to the ground. She fell with a thud, causing her elbow to scrap against the concrete.
Hayley gasped out from the sharp pain, but refused to go down without a fight. She was sick and tired of the bullying and the constant bullshit she would get from Davina.
So she grabbed a hold of her number one enemy’s foot, yanking hard, forgetting about the pain that was jolting through her arms.
Davina cried out as she fell on her back, which gave Hayley the upper hand to climb on top of her. But before she could send a punch flying, brawny arms wrapped around her small middle, yanking her up and she did was pull Davina's hair.
At first, she thought it was one of Davina's sidekicks, but as much as she hated them, she had to admit they weren't that muscular.
"What is happening here?" Alpha Kane's voice came, sounding smooth and gruff at the same time.
"She's crazy, she tried to kill us." Davina lurched into a tall tale of how Hayley had attacked her for no reason, then pouted her thin pink lips, trying to look pitiful.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" Alpha Kane asked, folding his arms over his muscular chest.
"Nothing. It's not like you will believe me either way." Hayley said, looking away from the towering man before her.
"You three go home. Hayley, come back to my office." The Alpha ordered.
"No." Hayley said, standing her ground. She had decided that today was the day she stood up for herself. No longer will she be anybody's bitch.
Alpha Kane grabbed Hayley by the upper arm, while staring down at her. "My office, now!" He roared, but Hayley gave a smirk. "I'm not a wolf, so that won't work on me." Alpha Kane gave a growl before picking Hayley up to throw her over his shoulders. Davina looked stunned, for she thought Kane would punish Hayley, not having her on his back while she had a smile on her face. "I'll handle her accordingly. Run home now,’’ Alpha Kane told the girls. Hayley kicked, punching at Alpha Kane's back, "put me down you freak." "Stop, they are gone." Kane said before slapping Hayley on the ass, causing her to laugh. "You can put me down now." "Why are you always in the middle of a fight?" "Why must every fight have me in the centre? Have you ever thought it was not me, but them? Hayley relaxed on the Alpha’s shoulder, "you know how your stupid pack is. They mock me for not having a wolf. I am the outcast, the little bitch." Kane scoffed, "you do have a wolf. You are just a late bloomer
Hayley woke with a stare, to a loud banging noise. Disoriented, she sat up in the bed and stumbled off the mattress. Another bang shuddered the walls of the house she was in. Then a loud roar caused her to move faster, dragging her pants on. There was a commotion. Seconds later, Alpha Kane came in his room, his eyes blazing and almost blue, signalling that his wolf was close to the surface. "You need to leave." "What's happening?" "My brother is going through the shift. He couldn't handle it. I'm afraid that if you stay here, you might get hurt." Hayley nodded. She didn't have to be told twice; she saw how her adopted sister was when she went through the change and wanted no part of this one. "I have school in the morning, anyway." Hayley said. Even though she was trying to hide it, Kane could still see the fear in her eyes and heard it in her voice as well. "Come, I'll see to it that you get out safe." Kane followed her outside, to where the night sky was dark, and thundering
Leaving the pack was the only thing that stood out to Hayley. She didn't want to stay where people defined who she was. Sure, she had a few friends and all, but she didn't feel like she belong. Especially when those around her weren't afraid to point out her flaws and make fun of her. (The wolf not wolf, they would mock.) Hayley hated that everyone around her could shape shift. Everyone was in tune with their wolf, and knew the pain of the first shift, or the effects of the full moon on them. They only had to worry about their mates. (Should I reject him or not, would she reject me?) And to make her matters worse, there was the fact of not having her actual parents around to help her through such a rough patch in her life. She didn't know which was worse, being wolfless or not having parents. She got bullied about both. (Go find your parents,) they would say. (Homeless girl,) they would call her. Like she didn't have feelings too. Hayley hated how most of them treated her. Th
Hayley sighed as she walked along the path to the forest, with her hands behind her head, watching the birds as they fly above. Wishing that she could be free like them, especially the yellow and blue one. She could tell he was a character among its flock, and had a personality from the way he flew, looping around the others. He even sung loudly, just like her. But no, instead she was trapped under a dome. (It wasn't a dome, but it sure felt like it.) Somehow, the weather was being controlled. It was winter all around them, but for whatever reason, it was always summer, spring, or raining inside her prison. But little did they know Hayley found a way to leave, a weak link in the so called almighty barrier. It was all because two different territories crossed, it sort of weaken the spells. Normally at any other point in the town, it would be hard to cross over, unless the Alpha was there, or a court guard to let you through. Hayley didn't quite understand how it worked. She didn't
Hayley wanted answers, but for now that had to wait, because her stomach was rumbling, and her frozen fingers were protesting. Hayley took one last look at the spot that had showed the weird vision, and one last look at her freedom, then went home. She cursed herself for being so dumb and unprepared. But next time she won't. A new life was in her grasp. She was thinking about something else now. What was that vision she just saw? And what was with that pendent? Hayley stopped just outside of the house she grew up in, looking up at it. Despite the feeling she had of wanting to run away, she was still grateful to the Blackwater’s. The Alpha didn't know what to do with her when he found her. Even though everyone warned them not to, they thought it would be good to have a sister for their daughter to play with, so they never listened and raised Hayley as their own. Their affection and love towards Hayley never changed. It was like she was truly their child and was always present in
Hayley stared up at the ugly brown stone building they called a school, but she called it the worst 6 years of her life. It was the place they bullied her the most, the place she felt more alone. A slow smile creeped onto her face. It was almost summer, which means she was almost at the end of the school year and won't have to set foot back in it ever again. "Watch it loser." Someone said, bumping into her, as if they couldn’t just walk around. "Wolfless." Someone else came up to her saying. "Flea bag!" She shot back. "That's it, I'm gone." Hayley decided, making a beeline with the duffle bag she had. She once again found herself in the forest, ready to make her great escape. But all she saw was a heated make-out session between her adopted sister, Carrie, and a different guy from last night. Hayley was about to turn around, but her need to leave was much greater. So she tried to walk as quietly as possible. As she got closer to them, she stepped on a branch, then froze. She di
"As sweet as I thought, not like any other wolves' blood I have tasted." He grabbed Hayley by the throat, pulling her closer to him as his mouth opened wide. He sniffed at her neck. “Don't worry. It will be over before you know." But before he could bite her, there was a roar with a large furry body crashing into them. After the hold broke, Hayley was on the ground. If it wasn’t for Carrie who pulled her to her feet, she would have been crushed under the hissing and roaring battle between the vampire and the bear. "Run you two." The bear said. The vampire used his moment of distraction to run full force into the bear, hitting him to the ground. The vampire then ran towards Hayley and Carrie, but by that time, they have already crossed back to their territory. "He's not chasing us." Hayley said. “That’s because he can’t cross the border." Carrie said. "Go you two!" The bear yelled, before rearing up on its hind legs then sunk his teeth into the vampire, who gave a cry. Black
Hayley dragged herself to school the next morning, and through the halls, where her other school mates were milling around, waiting for the gym to open. "Sorry." Hayley said. After bumping into someone, when she didn't hear a response, she glanced over her shoulder to see that no one was there. "Must have been the wall." She mumbled to herself, then continued on. Making sure to stay at the back so that no one picked on her. Even though it was Saturday, all the teenagers that were between the ages of 16 and 18 had to gather in the gym for an endurance training. This was so that the teen wolves in the pack, that included Hayley, could show case any skills and abilities they might have. 'Why do I always have to do this?' Hayley asked herself. Blowing strands of hair out of her face, the only thing she could do was run her mouth and somehow finish the obstacle courses they set up. Other than that, she couldn't go wolf, and she had no powers. "The changing room is open." Someone said
Hayley woke at dawn to a delicious sore feeling down below. She rolled over to see Kane exiting the bathroom wearing only a towel, displaying his muscular body. Her lips parted with appreciation, while a smile played on his lips. "Like what you see?" Kane flexed his pec muscles, making them jump. "Mouthwatering." She bit her lips. Her eyes riveted to the bulge behind his towel that swayed when he walked. He abruptly turned, catching her staring. He smirked. "Need help with that?" Kane chuckled, "you are such a sex addict." "You are my mate, so it's fine." In no time, Hayley was stooping before Kane. Once she'd removed the towel, his erection jerked as if excited to have her eyes on it. "What are you going to do?" He moved his hips forward. Hayley gave a wicked smile before taking his length in her mouth, making him groan. When she pulled back to catch her breath, Kane roughly dragged her
"Yes, no. I don't know anymore." Holly cried."There is no need to be scared. Take it easy." Hayley touched her shoulder."They did something to me." Holly looked at her."They?""Yes. I wasn't even at school for a month after my second year of college, before being kidnapped. My boyfriend, well, I thought he was my boyfriend. He was there.""What did they do to you?" Kane asked.Holly looked at him, her eyes unreadable."We went to a party. It was a welcome back to school type of thing. When the party was over, my boyfriend wanted to stay even though I insisted on going home. The next thing I know, I was drugged and then…" She trailed off."And then what? Tell me what happened to you." Gunther said, taking her face in his hands.Holly sobbed, her body shaking. Her voice had turned to a whisper as she spoke again. "When I woke up, I was naked and on a stone altar for some kind of ritual. There were at least four o
The next morning, Hayley woke up feeling angry for no reason."Morning." Kane greeted, trying to pull her into a hug, but she kept moving away."No good morning kiss?""I'm not in the mood, Kane."Kane glanced over at his mate."That's a first."Hayley rolled to her side, facing away from him."Are you alright?""Can you not talk at all?""Ok." Whispered Kane."Can you go too, please?""Go?""Leave the room.""I- ok."Kane got up with a sigh, then head to the bathroom, where he took a shower, brushed his teeth and shaved.Just as he was drying his face, he felt a presence behind him. He turned, thinking that it was Hayley, but saw no one."Should I bring you breakfast?"Hayley didn't respond. Instead, she turned the other way, to face away from Kane again."I guess that's a no."Kane gently closed the door behind him, making his way to breakfast.
Kane and Hayley met up with Gunther, who was downing a glass of dark liquid. He coughed, "dragon's breath."Gunther glanced up at the stairs to where the vampire had his mate in chains. Not long after, the dirty-looking girl was standing before the Delta."What did you do?" She asked, her voice trembling."There is no time to explain, you have to come with me," Gunther told her."Why should I trust you? I am nothing but a human.""You are my mate. It is my duty to protect you. But I promise, if you come with me, I will never hurt you."Before the girl could respond, the vampire was standing by her. He had a smile on his face and an evil glint in his eyes.He placed a hand on the girl's head, turning it slowly so that her wide eyes can stare at him."You know better than to wander off. Now come.""Yes." The girl held her head low and walked with him."Is he keeping her like some kind of pet?" Sam aske
When Hayley got back to Kane, he had a bath ready for her, as promised."Hey.""Hayley," Kane said.Picking off petals from a rose and dropping them in the water."You aren't mad at me, are you?" She asked."Why would I be?""I just killed."Kane chuckled, "if you didn't, I would have done it myself."Hayley moved over to kiss Kane. He kissed her back, then pulled away."My mate." He said, burying his face in her neck.He pulled back, then peeled her clothes off."Gods, you are so perfect." Kane took a step back, running his eyes over Hayley's body."So gods damn perfect." He said."Is there something you want to do about it?" Hayley breathingly asked."Let's get you cleaned first."Kane helped Hayley into the tub. When she sat down, he removed his clothes sit behind her.Hayley leant back into him, already feeling his erection growing.Kane applied soap on Hayley's
Hayley woke to having a cottonmouth. It was so dry she couldn't feel her tongue. She licked her lips, moving her tongue to make sure it was still there.Hayley rolled on her back with a groan, then bolted upright."What the gods just happened?"She looked around to see that she was in the cherry field, then what happened came back to her.Clutching her still aching neck, she gazed around again, then got up."That little shithead," Hayley said, stumbling as she took a step. Her vision swam and the place span."I am going to squeeze that bitch's neck until her eyes pop out."When Hayley made her way back to the centre of the town, she came upon three headless bodies that were also missing a few limbs and the pack gathered around."What happened here?""Some creature was on a rampage, but ran away after."Hayley hurried to the packhouse to see Kane, Gunther and Axel in a discussion."It's Conrad,
Hayley gave up on what to do on how to get Conrad. She wanted to put a stop to him once and for all but his scent wasn't anywhere near the pack territory. When she got back to the house, the former Beta was in the office, telling Kane how disgusted he was with his son's action."I am ashamed to call that boy my son. In my days, I wouldn't think of disrespecting a woman or going as far as challenging the Alpha. It goes to show that he is weak, and after all those years, he only got worse.""Good afternoon." Hayley greeted, just to be respectful, even though Angelo was one of them that wanted to leave her the night she was found."Luna." He gave a smile and now."I should have seen it, but your father was the one that kept that boy safe. If it was up to me, he would be in a grave.""Angelo, don't talk like that. He is still your son.""Son?" The older man scoffed. "Did he see my mate as someone that cared for him? No, he lashed out afte
Hayley now has come to terms with the fact that she can never have a perfect day or a day where she relaxes. She pulled away from Kane.’’What is it?’’“Something just happened.’’ She said, trying to figure out what, but Kane pulled her back into a kiss.’’The only thing that is going to happen is me bending you over again.’’ Kane said, breaking the kiss. Before he could kiss Hayley again, a knock came at the door.’’And there goes that.’’ Hayley said.Kane let out a soft growl before getting up, when he opened the door, the guard before him did a salute."Conrad was spotted at the border, he attacked a woodland creature. She is hardly alive." A court guard said."Imp, he attacks an Imp," Gunther said, pushing his glasses up his nose. He, along with Axel, was standing behind the guard.."I think it was the one that mage
Kane and Hayley were in a heated make-out session, in the office, the door was locked and there wasn't anyone around to disturb them, like those countless other times."Are you ready for this?" Kane asked.Hayley broke the kiss to stare up at Kane. Instead of unbuttoning her blouse, she ripped it from her body."That's a yes then." Hayley began to kiss her again.Hayley could feel Kane's need in every kiss and every nibble."To the bedroom." Harley breathed out.Kane lift her and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he brought her to their bedroom, never breaking their kiss."I need you so bad," Kane kissed her deeply, before kicking the door open and slamming it behind him."Then don't stop."Hayley used her hands to put his hand on her breast.Kane growled before throwing Hayley on the bed, then climbed on top of her.He kissed her deeply again, struggling to unbutton his pants while trying to remove
