"Miss, I'm still waiting for the file in my office," announced Shola's superior behind the phone line. He had just hung up. Shola was desperately rummaging through the files that lay on her table, in the drawers and even in the cupboards that were in the office. She was looking for a file she'd given to her boss a few days earlier, but that morning he denied having received it. The world was spinning out of control for her right now, yet she was sure she'd passed it on. It was her word against his, and she shouldn't be imposing on the boss. She just hoped she'd find the file at her office, and wished with all her heart she were wrong in thinking she'd already passed it on to her boss.

The phone rang again, it was once more her boss Mr. Lawani.

- Hello, did you find me the file ?

- No, sir, I'm still looking for it.

- Bring me a cappuccino with a little sugar, please. We've got to get ready for the meeting of just now, and time doesn't allow us to look for

Shola didn't really have anything against Sègla, but she was torn between her loyalty and high regard for Fèmi, but also by the "still anonymous" relationship that was developing between her and Sègla. Sègla proved to be an accomplished artist, but also a seductive man with all the assets a woman could dream of. Still under the shock from what had happened to Fèmi, she dialed his number. He picked up after a few rings, his trembling voice betraying his pain. "Fèmi, is that you ? What's happened ?" Fèmi hesitated, then decided not to tell her right away how he'd ended up in such a dangerous situation. He didn't want to talk about the theft of his motorcycle, or his injuries. "Nothing, Shola, don't worry. I'm just tired from everything that's happened, that's all." But Shola could hear the distress and the depth of some pain in his voice. "Fèmi, I know you're not doing very well. I can understand you not wanting to talk to me about

_________FLASHBACK_________ The first rays of the sun were spreading over the land, while the sky was displaying magnificent colors. Everything was perfect for a man with no worries at the moment, a magnificent start to the morning. It had been 2 months since Mr. Vigan had been out of the house, nor had he been in contact with sunlight. The last time he'd been out was to run a few quick errands for his provisions, after which he'd locked himself in his home. Taking slow steps, he finally reached the supermarket close to his home. He entered the supermarket and quickly browsed the pharmacy shelves to select some first-aid products. A supermarket employee noticed his hand tied with a piece of blood-soaked cloth. She noticed the sad, indifferent look on the man's face, and the sense of emptiness he made no effort to conceal. She felt compassion for him, even though Mr. Vigan didn't look at all presentable. Thick, bushy beards had almost filled

The line had just been disconnected. Fèmi put down the phone and got up from the sofa. He turned off the TV and placed the remote control on the small table in front of him. His muscles were still aching. He went to the kitchen for a glass of water and then to his mother for some painkillers. He told her that he would receive a visit shortly, which surprised his mother a little. - Um, is it something special ? - No, Mummy, just a friend who's worried about me. I told her I'd be fine, but she insisted on coming round. - I think it'll relax you. You don't have to stay cooped up all the time. At the same time, the doorbell rang in the house, someone was outside. - I'll get the door. - No, leave it, I'll take care of it. You shouldn't move around too much. Madam Jasmine placed Vignilé, Fèmi's little sister, in her crib. She walked confidently to the entrance. She half-opened the door and inspected who was there. A young man

Mister Vigan withdrew. He picked up a few bags of pasta from the shelves, as well as a few tins, then went to the checkout and paid for his purchases. He then left the supermarket. As for Mrs Jasmine, she took dozens of minutes to finish cleaning the floor. She went into the little cubicle that represented the toilets, then cleaned the WCs and urinals that were installed there. A little over an hour later, she had finished her morning's work. It was almost 11:30. She deposited the cleaning accessories in the small toilet room, then went outside to water the flowers on the driveway. What a surprise ! She came across Mr. Vigan waiting outside, his back to the wall. He'd just spent over an hour there, standing with his foot crossed against the wall. - What are you still doing here ? Don't tell me you've spent all this time in the hot sun ! - I wanted to give you these chocolates as a token of my gratitude. I wasn't going to stop at words, sorry. Go

Shola was behind her computer screen in the office. She was entering new data into the file for the new contract they had won earlier. She'd had quite an eventful day and was feeling a slight headache. She got up and went to their infirmary to see Siloa. Siloa was her friend at work, and at the same time, she was assisting their company's chief medical officer. They didn't have too much reason to have a health office in their place of service, but their employers wanted employees to be able to work in excellent conditions so that nothing was overlooked ; not even a slight headache or slightly more complex health problems that could affect the quality of their work. Siloa stepped out of the curtain that hid part of the room. She held her hair back in a cap and wore gloves. She had put a stethoscope around her neck and was placing a thermometer on the table. She had big but lovely eyes, and a smile graced her face. She wasn't very tall, but had a body silhouette

Sègla was standing right in front of Shola. He was wearing a dark red shirt and holding a bouquet of roses. Around his neck was a magnificent necklace reminiscent of a ship's anchor. He had neatly trimmed his hair and beard, and left some of the buttons on the top of his shirt open. He smelled pleasantly good, and even though he wasn't quite close to Shola yet, she could feel his sweet intoxicating scent from where she was. He was quite simply a ladies' man. - What are you doing here, Sègla ? I can't believe... Wait Fèmi, excuse me, I'll call you back later when I'm in front of your place. She hung up the phone, then put it back in her bag while staring at the young man in front of him. - How did you know I worked here ? Since just now, Sègla had been smiling at her. He hadn't yet answered any of her questions. - Are you going to answer me ? - Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. It's just that you're so cute when you look a bit

  • Shards in Eternity   Chapter 1 : A Shy Encounter

The sun was setting gently, painting the sky with a warm palette of colors as Olufèmi, a reserved young man, strolled slowly through the park in front of the supermarket from which he had just emerged. He was tall, handsome, and dressed in a brown sweater, well-fitted jeans, and shoes that perfectly matched his outfit. His hair was neatly coiffed, as if he had just come from the barber's. He had always been shy, preferring the company of his books to that of people. He had more friends on social media than in real life, and when it came to social networks, he simply read posts, occasionally liked them, or observed online conversations, but he had never mustered the courage to initiate a conversation with the people he saw online. He spent most of his time in his room, but on that evening, after finishing some shopping for his mother, something was about to change. As he wandered among the trees, he noticed a beautiful young girl sitting alone on a bench. Her hair shone like gold in th

Olufèmi and Olushola continued talking. They talked about many things. The discussion soon moved on to various themes. They discovered each other through their opinions. They were still at it when Olushola received a message notification. She turned on the screen of her cell phone, then smiled without revealing the content of the message to her interlocutor. As she chatted with him, she packed her belongings into her leather handbag. Olushola was dressed in a blue oval dress. She wore brown ballet flats and a bracelet bearing the initial « J ». She was a magnificent beauty, especially with the golden braids on her head. In fact, Olufèmi wondered how it was possible for her to be alone as he passed through this place. "Surely an arrangement on God's part", he said to himself. "I'm sorry, but I have to get back. It's getting late." Said the girl, looking a little disappointed. "Oh, I haven't seen the time. Sorry." Olufèmi pressed his connected watch and he'd just re

It was around 11:20pm. Fèmi was lying on the floor in his street, his home just a few blocks away. He had been badly banged up, thank God it wasn't critical wounds. He was still taking his time to realize what had just happened when one of the neighborhood elders noticed him. Immediately, he ran to him and came to his assistance. Fèmi was bleeding from some wounds he had sustained. The young man carrying him finally managed to take him home. His mother went into a state of shock when she saw her son in such a state. It was a terrible blow for Fèmi. His father had died when he was 3. He was part of a large team of journalists. One day, returning from an assignment, he and his team had been involved in a traffic accident between a truck and their car. They were 5 of them on board, and Fèmi's father was the only one to die. The others were rushed to hospital and, as their injuries were not critical, they managed to escape with only minor after-effects. Fèmi's chil

Shola walked through the mess to join her sister across the room on the balcony. Adoukè was wearing white panties and a slightly transparent purple top. She had tied up her gorgeous hair and put on wireless headphones, sipping a bottle of Coke and contemplating the view of the city.- Shola: So, madam, a little show on the horizon ?- Adoukè: I forgot to subscribe to Canal+ Comédie.- Shola: I can offer you the Evasion+ package as earlier if you like.- Adoukè: Tchrummm ! Where have you been ? And who was that guy who dropped you off ?- Shola: Phew ! Give me a break, detective. Are you investigating me now? Adoukè didn't answer, just watched her sister slowly and steadily from head to toe. Shola was wearing a beautiful tight brown dress. It went very well with her caramel complexion. She had carefully arranged her braids and put in a butterfly-shaped accessory to keep them in that state and at the same time act as an embellishment. She wore her round glasses and held
