Ava.
Alpha Darwin grasped my legs and yanked me closer so that I half laid down on the sofa, the side window supporting my head. I bit my bottom lip as I watched him strandle my legs across his neck. He leant down, biting softly on my chin and I gulped down, unable to resist.
"You're so tight." He said, taking his finger out before a session even began and I sighed.
It has always been that way_ with Jared, Zayn and the rest of them. How surprising it was that the only girl rebel was still a virgin and no one dared to do anything with me the moment I tell them I'd never done it.
Alpha Darwin kissed my lips and moved back, resuming his former posture. "We've arrived at YellBloodOwl." He told me, doing so well to get rid of my embarrassment in the moment and I sat up immediately. I arranged my dress, eager to see the view but alas, the windows were rolled up and tinted. Not very clear.
I turned to face him, hopefully wishing that he'll grant me this first wish of mine, "Can I see the streets, Alpha?" I raised my brow, unable to hide my excitement.
I had spent all my life in the fields and tiny streets of Oakley Backwoods, exploring every corner in the closes; every alley and all the hideous tunnels, and I've never stepped my feet on a foreign soil.
"Hmm, no." He rejected firmly, "Sorry, but I don't just agree to the requests of my subjects without any reason."
Oh, subject? How wonderful!
I'm nothing but a subject to him? So arrogant. If anyone ever deserved to be pummeled by Jared's fists, it should be no one but him.
Depressed into soberness, I shook my head and lowered my head to whisper in his ear, "Do you also assault your subjects in a limo without their permission, Mr. Darwin?" I teased, images from minutes ago flashing in my mind and I leaned in, taking the devil's dare. I kissed his eartip, softly biting down to his earlobe and sucking on the soft thing.
Alpha Darwin inhaled sharply and pulled me by my waist so that I ended up on his thighs. He held my chin with his other hand, his gray eyes roaming my face with an expression that did not seem to really exist. His thumb grazed my face, caressing my under lid and nose.
A thin smile appeared on his lips,
"Only my subjects call me Alpha. To my wife or anyone important, I am just Darwin and no, I've only pleased you."
He didn't! All he did was set a fire in me but didn't even have it ablaze before quenching it. He started but did not dare to finish.
He chuckled and coiled some strands of my short hair around his finger, "We'll still have our wedding night if everything goes well. Your first time won't be so cheap, I promise you."
We had just met a few hours ago and he already promised me quite a deal: everything and...um, a special wedding night.
How special can sex between two strangers be?
But that mouth, that tongue and that lips had a way to pique my interest and make me curious to know what would come out of them the next second... or what else they could do to me rather than talking. Maybe capture my soul in their enthralldom of pleasure.
I nodded after giving it a thought and took his hand away from me.
"I want to see, Darwin." I told him and moved back into my seat, leaving a proper distance between us. The windows wound down afterwards and hence, the beautiful town of a foreign pack came into view.
YellBloodOwl was indeed several times better than Oakley Backwoods. There were beautiful castles and tall buildings; clean streets and healthy trees; fine weather and beautiful gardens; the lovely pets and the active werewolves in the hoods. Even the bars looked sophisticated and there wasn't an abandoned building or a dirty studio.
"It's beautiful!" I exclaimed in admiration, loving the environment already. And I'd noticed the escorts had left us already since we arrived at YellBloodOwl. I immediately reached for my phone and took multiple snaps of the wonderful streets. I forwarded all to Zayn, leaving a message also.
'It is beautiful here, Zayn. Tell the boys, I don't think I'll get maltreated here.' I refrained from typing how much I'll miss them and sent it to him. I shut down my phone after that and tucked it back into my pocket.
But if I do get maltreated, I'm sure I'll do all it takes to escape.
"After the ceremony, you're free to put everything under your name." Alpha Darwin said behind me.
How cheesy! Do I look like I'm that greedy to him?
I shook my head disapprovingly and sighed aloud, "I just want a marriage where we can both have our peace."
As if it was possible!
I exhaled and moved away from the windows, resting back on the sofa to take a break before we reach the palace. I also needed to think about the marriage_ if I really wish to go ahead with this dramatic event or not. Maybe it wasn't as bad as I imagined. I, an ordinary wolfless rebel, is going to be crowned Luna of a powerful pack in just a while. I am going to be given a hot and irresistible demon as my husband. He could also help me get back at Luna Alexa, Marilyn, Celia and Beta Marshall.
Forget about revenge, maybe I want to play this game with Oakley, see where it lands us and I wouldn't give up on the special wedding night.
"Being Luna comes with a lot of responsibility and troubles. After this, if there's anything you can't understand, you can always come to me and don't rush into deciding things."
Yes, I'd like to see how much more troublesome it can be than my rebellious life.
"Alright."
We reached our destination soon and the door automatically opened. Alpha Darwin stepped out before me, and waited to take my hand. He helped me out of the limousine and pulled me closer, holding my waist.
He tilted his head downwards and whispered into my ear, "I have to see to some things now. Livia would take you to get ready."
Hmm. He wasn't running away right after I said yes, right? I couldn't help but feel insecure.
I nodded reluctantly and turned to look at the mass welcoming us home, some smiling widely and others frowning. I could tell they were mostly staff and high class members of YellBloodOwl who had come to see their new Luna to-be.
A lady came forward to us, followed by two others who seemed like her escorts.
"Welcome home, your majesty." She bowed and greeted him with all smiles, deliberately choosing to ignore me or not finding my presence any interesting to attract her attention. Either way, she was rude.
"Livia, I'll burden you to take care of her. Okay?" He sounded too polite to be talking to an ordinary subject or his member but it was fine. I still had all the time to find out how things were done here, and who Livia is exactly.
"I will." She took a quick glance at me and turned back to him, bowing again.
"I am Olivia." She properly introduced after he left us but it didn't seem like she wanted to exchange all the nice words there were. She spun around on her heels immediately and marched away, obviously expecting me to run after her.
Really?
I shook my head and followed her, becoming more impatient and frustrated with her than she must've thought she was. We walked into a building, an apartment precisely and one of her escorts closed the door after me.
Olivia walked over to the single sofa and sat down, crossing her legs before settling her gaze upon me once again. It almost felt like she was peeling my skin off with her penetrating look. Indignant, I mean.
"Esther, get her the clothes and shoes. We have only fifteen minutes to get there." She finally said but did not look away. She surely had something to do with her attitude, how very professional for her to be polite towards the Alpha and treat his Luna as trash.
After the two escorts had left us to run errands for her, I crossed my arms and walked over. I sat on the couch opposite her and waited to see if she was going to say anything. But when all she did was gawk, I decided to initiate the conversation. If there is anything I'll never allow, it is for a stranger to trample on my person for no reason.
"It doesn't matter if you like me or not, Livia. By tomorrow, I'll become your Luna and you'll have to give me that respect no matter what. Do you understand?" Of course, it did matter. I am new here; can't tell what rules there are and won't appreciate being provoked on my first day.
Livia eyed me without saying anything, her dark eyes raking my figure for the fifth time before she finally looked away. She took her bottom lip in and exhaled loudly, only to turn to look at me once again.
"He did not tell you, did he?" She began with a query.
"You're pretty lucky. Alpha Darwin didn't tell you he has a mate, did he?"
And she is his mate?
Livia stood up and crossed over the room to the exit, "I am Olivia, the Alpha's mate and baby mama. Welcome to the pack." My breath hitched as she walked out. It felt like being struck by a lightning bolt and for once, my head hurt immensely.
Darwin has a baby and a mate? Then what the hell am I doing as his bride?! Or she could be lying...the whole thing just didn't add up to her lie. It was too senseless to be true.
I am already here now and there's no turning back. In the next minutes, I will be crowned Luna and hence, Zayn would be put out of trouble of being punished. If there's any reason worthy enough as to why I'm still going ahead with this marriage, then it is to keep his life.
I zipped the dress up and glanced once more at the mirror. I had chosen the shortest one out of all five and it had a thin material that hugged my curves. But it was beautiful, I especially liked the petal designs and sequins trailing the waistline. Yet, it felt strange. I loved baggy clothes and never liked to wear proper dresses. It was Celia's thing and I couldn't be bothered about it. I tucked my hair behind my ear to make sure it covered the huge tattoo there. After another glance, I walked out of the bathroom to meet the two escorts who had been waiting all along. We left the apartment and I was taken to another building in the palace. One glance and I could tell it was the palace courtyard where the king usually celebrated with the other higher-ups. It was thrice the size of Oakley Backwoods palace courtyard and the gigantic throne was even more elegant than Edward Sykes'. Of course, I wouldn't dare to say it was beautiful. It was the perfect mix of an heavenly setting surrounded by a dreadful aura.
As I walked into the room, I was welcomed, not just with the flute's notes, but curious stares and fiery glares from the corners of the room.
Across the room, Darwin looked down on me from his giant throne, his gaze dark as usual and his face devoid of any expression whatsoever. He wore teal royal apparel over a black shirt dress. Sitting there on the most mighty throne, wearing a crown that was made purely of gold and a face that didn't look like it ever learned to smile, he most certainly could be mistaken for a demon god. Or perhaps, he was one. The marriage priest led me further into the room until we reached where the carpet stopped before the throne, and he turned to face me, his eyes sending a message I immediately understood. Two weeks ago, when it was suggested that I might be getting married soon, dad had made me attend about four marriages at home just to see the procedure and he even employed someone to summarize everything about a good marriage and a dutiful wife to me.
I immediately went on my knees and bowed my head, awaiting my so-called husband to come and take my hand, and feed me from his cup.
"What are you wearing, Ayla?" I heard his hushed hoarse voice as he held my shoulders and helped me stand on my feet.
His gray eyes gazed at me questioningly, his lips twitching downwards and it appeared that he was really upset. The priest's assistant put on a shawl that matched his apparel around my neck and Darwin proceeded to wrap it properly. His action was brief and almost too quickly, as though he couldn't wait to get done with the process and leave the event already. Or perhaps, he was really mad at my choice of outfit.
The priest assistant handed him the wedding bracelet to wear around my wrist which he also did quickly without sparing me a look. He really could be impossible when mad?
I bit my bottom lip and took his hand before the priest went on. I stepped closer, ridding the distance between us so that our bodies touched each other, my head resting on his chest.
I whispered lowly, under my breath knowing quite well that he would hear, "I can't wait to kiss you after this, Darwin, and take you to my bed too." I glanced up at him and managed to pull off an innocent smile.
I retracted my gaze and retrieved my hand, moving back from him but Darwin stopped me before I could turn to the priest.
His large hand clamped on my waist, pulling me back to himself and his other hand held my chin upwards, forcing me to look back at him. His gaze was fierce and fearful, flickering with visible rage. His gray eyes burned intensely into mine as he glared at me.
"Why is your dress so short and tight? Why? Your curves are out and exposed, and your legs too..." He growled carpingly as his grip tightened on my chin at an alarming rate.
It was really painful but he did not care as he glared back at me, demanding an answer. I gritted my teeth and hissed as the pain increased.
This man was really a bastard branding himself as a charming prince. He wouldn't marry his mate nor take responsibility for his child but cause pain to his newly wedded bride before their marriage ceremony is even about to end.
"Please..."
Ava.After the ceremony had ended by evening, Darwin had someone send me to my room and assigned me three maids but I sent them back to rest, insisting I wanted a private time to myself. After making sure to lock the door behind me, I immediately started to take off my dress and heels. I took off the marriage bracelet too and tossed it aside angrily. I stepped into the bathroom walls which were surprisingly demarcated by a drapery that looked almost too transparent. It was beautiful and seductive, yes. But I didn't have the mind to admire how much luxury he had spent to prepare this. I could only read much into why the room was soundproof like Arindam briefed me and why the full-sized mirror was adjacent to the ceiling-to-floor window that faced his bungalow. And why anyone in the room could see what I was doing in the bathroom. I turned on the shower and held the shower handle over me, letting it wet my hair downwards as my tears flowed helplessly, my chest tightening as I shuddered
Ava.His pupils narrowed and he didn't answer me immediately. It must've surprised him that I would come up with such a question, and his reaction did nothing to kill my curiosity. Instead, I wanted to know more_ if she was really his mate and had his baby. "Why do you ask?" He replied me with a question and I pretended to roll my eyes.Perhaps, there was really something and Olivia was right. I was just the bride he gets to fuck legally because her pack had enough of her already and couldn't tolerate her nasty behaviour, so they gave her to him freely. And Olivia on the other hand was a prestigious Beta; his mate and his original lover. Whatever happened between them to not get married did not change the fact that I was just an imposter. "I just wanted to know if she is one of your lovers." I said, trying my best to sound unbothered but even I could hear the concern in my tone. I hurriedly continued so that he wouldn't mistake me for being jealous, "It seemed that she wouldn't min
Ava. I nodded, trying my best not to feel hurt by his words. Or at least, not to show it. He seemed to have forgotten his promise to take me to meet his mom today. And I seemed to have become too weak to give him the tongue lashing I had planned. "I'll leave then." I told him and turned to go, not bothering to bring up the meal I had brought for him. It was probably not my business also. After all, this wasn't a real marriage and no one was responsible for anyone. "Were you the one that brought in the food?" He asked when I reached the door and I stopped. "Yes," I replied, not turning to face him. However, I waited to see if he was going to say something about it but I gave up when it took so long to hear a word from him. "Alright. Wait downstairs for me, I'm going to change." My heart leapt happily when he did not ask me to leave or try to scold me for poking my nose into his daily routine after just one day of being in his life. Even to me, it seemed like I was moving too fast
Ava."Ever since what?" I asked, curious about why I've never heard of him until now. Of course, I'm still so new but as the alpha's twin, it's strange that there's barely been a mention of him. "Damien died." Olivia answered me herself and I turned to face her, shocked and sorry."It's been six years but I have refused to break the bond between us. I believe he sees me in the most difficult moment of my life and will be there to guide me and Rainbows when we need him." Her eyes sparkled as she spoke about him and she flicked her hair, a forlorn smile appearing on her face. I wasn't sure if she needed my pity or comfort, considering the fact that we weren't close in the first place. And I wasn't sure if it was crazy_ her idea of the dead being able to be give one solace_ or worse still, true. Perhaps, there had always been a tiny part of me that never overlooked the fact that I never got to know my mother and maybe that tiny part wanted to know...to know if she loved me or not; if I
Ava."Darwin says you're a nice girl." Zenobia, Darwin's mother said, placing a slice of chocolate cake on my plate. She was beautiful and looked, without doubt, too young to have given birth to someone as old as Darwin. She looked like she was still in her twenties with the fairest of skin and most infecting smile ever. Looking at her, being cheerful and forever young, I was starting to think I might've been better as a vampire than a werewolf. "Did he?" I glanced over at Darwin where he sat across the hall, sipping on his wineglass while a gang of youngsters crowded him. He held his usual cold and intimidating look that made it seem like he knew everything that was going on in every other person's head. Well, maybe he knew. I couldn't help but notice how attractive he was, even when doing nothing. Even with that straight face and cold look, he still looked irresistible. "Yes. Usually, he would go for ladies that are several years older than him. When he told me I would like you,
Ava. "Nakayla, are you alright?" Halsey stood up worriedly as I stomped back to their booth. He rushed forward to me and caught my drunk self in his arms but I didn't want him to hold me longer. I struggled and tried to writhe free from his grip. I desperately wanted to question Adele."I didn't intend to get her drunk but she kept pushing further." Renata said behind me. She fisted the sides of her skirt fearfully beside me and tore it, even. The wine was weird_ it heightened my senses and made me pay attention to these things. Or I was tipsy, really."You're just some bad news, aren't you?" Adele scowled at Renata as she stood up with the rest of the guys. "Why are you even here? You should just disappear like you've always done." That was harsh. Definitely, it wasn't just about the drink. "T... This has nothing t..to do with our fight. I.. just came here for fun and..." Renata stuttered pitifully. Yoshimi stepped in their middle and grabbed her before she could resume her state
Ava.The way he called my name...The way those words sounded helplessly seductive leaving his lips despite the menace they were meant to pass. No one ever talked to me like that or made me feel this way_ submissive and rendered to their will. I wrapped my hand around it and tried to imitate those adult actresses when they give a handjob. I could barely get my hand around the whole of it but I made do with what I could hold. He was... fucking huge. Now, the more I thought about it, the more it felt like he really meant all those threats he gave me about fucking me till I could no longer move. "Come here now. Open your mouth better." He held the back of my head and brought me even closer. I needn't be told to take off my hands, I was perhaps doing it the wrong way. He put his erection into my mouth and held my jaw firmly. With his two hands holding my head, I couldn't move back or stop him if I wanted to. I rolled my eyes up to him and saw that a corner of his lips was curled up as he
Ava."Ava, how's married life?" Eric asked, drawing a stool by my side. He'd finally done what I had expected him to do_ come over and practice his silly interviewing skills. I nodded inattentively and rolled my eyes to his friends' booth. Eric moved around with a bunch of self obsessed gamblers who drank all day and partied all night. He was the most silly among them, with more bravery than sense and that's why each time he made some big money, he always ended up losing it in that one night and never left the club until he was drained of cash. And again, he had proven his stupidity before me. Change was surely a hard thing. "It's better than being drained in debts all my life, Eric. We should talk of when you're finally going to pay up all your debtors or if you're actually here to borrow some from me now." Of course, I had no fucking money but I knew Oakley Backwoods too much. Here, words went around faster than the wind and even a day old infant must've known that I had married
Ava."Where is the celebrant?" Adele asked, handpicking desserts for herself. She was the last person to arrive, it wasn't so surprising. "He had something urgent to attend to." I told her, wiping my mouth. Mea had been crying ceaselessly in her grandmother's arms and it was pitiful enough to watch the both. Zenobia had made a lot of effort to try to calm the little princess but it wasn't working. "Here, let me have her." I stretched my arms forward and collected her from her."The little tigress doesn't like me at all. It's such a pity, her elder sister and I were inseparable when she was little." Zenobia managed to express her pride and sufferings in those two sentences. I laughed and kissed my baby, giving her no reply about her remarks. Mea had immediately quietened down once she was in my arms. "See, she is in love with her mother." Zenobia continued to express her bitterness over the issue. You would've thought it was something so important. "Your first daughter is just li
Ava."I think this one is more conservative and fits me more, Tessa." I smiled as I caressed the diamond stone that complimented the thin necklace around my neck. It was more enviable in comparison to the gold chain, yet very simple. "Yes, yes. Everything fits you, my queen. That's because you're so beautiful!" We laughed. She had always had a sugar coated tongue, although she could be very plain and quite naive, that made her my favorite amongst the others. She had originally been introduced into the royal household as the new nanny sometime back but once I got to know her true self, I decided she was worthy enough to be the housekeeper. I sighed and stood up and swirled around to face the full-length mirror. The reflection that stared back at me was very satisfying. The blue ball gown was a good choice, indeed."I like it." I said to no one in particular.Perhaps, I could wear more of this color in the future."You're very gorgeous, my queen. No maiden or lady could compare to
Ava."Do you dare to?" Six pairs of eyes had turned towards the entrance, stunned by that voice."Darwin!" I had sprung forward and writhed free from Olivia's now weak grip, taking that she was distracted."Darwin! Darwin...!" I had jumped into his arms, only to be shocked with the sound of a gunshot. For one, I found it difficult to believe I hadn't been shot. It was a task convincing myself that I wasn't already dead but still very alive and unharmed.Darwin's kiss reassured me of the fact and I blinked my lids as I slowly turned to see what had transpired within the past seconds. "You fucking betrayer!" Olivia cursed, her eyes turning bright red with fury. The bullet had narrowly missed her and gone through the wall behind her, causing a few blocks to break. "Sick woman!" Zayn spat and tossed the gun away. And he had transformed with a growl. Zayn's wolf was a red hairy one that I had always found admirable and different amongst others but in such a situation, I was convinced t
Ava."Is it true?" I turned to Takeshi, "Will feeding him with my blood fasten his recovery?""I think we could try that too. There's a high chance it'll do him a lot of good but I can't assure you anything. I haven't seen him in this state ever, taking his identity as a special being."Too much information there. "Okay. Okay." I wasn't interested in their history together,"Let's get to action then."The longer we delayed, the more dangerous the situation got."What? What? No, there's no way I'll let you lose any blood in your state, Ava. Nothing can happen to you too." Zenobia blurted, grabbing the razor Takeshi was supposed to hand over to me.I frowned, "Zenobia, I'll be fine."Nobby shook her head, her expression as fierce and determined, "That was what you said when I let you leave earlier. I won't forgive myself if I let you put yourself to risk just because you feel responsible. "She was right. I was most especially responsible for all of this and I wasn't retreating when it
Ava."Hey, are you okay?" I was stirred back to consciousness by Celia's continuous tapping on my left arm.I snapped my eyes open and gasped for breath. Fuck! That had been too sudden and totally unexpected. "Yea, I am." I brushed my hair back and nodded my head quickly. I was still quite in shock about the whole thing that had transpired. That was Marianne Sauber... and I felt her anguish. It was so painful... I don't even dare to imagine such. Takeshi had told me that I could see visions about those I had felt their pain, if I ever wanted to. But I had never seen mom, not to talk of healing her... what was happening? My phone's continuous ringing brought me out of my thoughts and I took it out from the purse. The name that flashed on the screen relieved me a bit."Darwin!" I called out as I placed the phone by my ear, "I am not fine."I didn't realize how terrified I was until a tear slid down my right cheek. I quickly wiped it away with my thumb and rubbed my nose. "What hap
Ava.Diane helped her sit up straight against the wall, a pillow supporting her head. I didn't know where to start. Or rather I'd say I was still trying to figure it all out."Ahem!" Diane pulled forward an empty chair for me to sit in.That was at least better than being too shocked or too lost."So where do you come from, young lady?" She asked once I'd settled down. Celia's wandering eyes paused momentarily, and then continued, glancing especially back at Diane and I. It was creepy. "I am from Oakley Backwoods." She said after some time.It seemed she was really healed but it was weird enough_ she was yet to say something about my presence."We shall contact your people and...""No!" She had cut her off and hopped out of bed immediately. "I don't want to go there. Do not take me back, please." She panicked for a while before rushing to my side and getting on her knees. She held my leg and started crying sooner than I would've figured, "He will kill me if you take me back ther
Ava.Why did that sound like the most ridiculous apology ever?Yoshimi was simply insane but what was even more crazy was the drama behind it.So...Heidi liked Halsey even when he liked Renata but he couldn't be with Renata because he doesn't want to break her and he hadn't forgiven Renata for being in a fake relationship with Darwin? But Renata thinks she and Yoshimi could be a thing and wants to keep his baby? It's none of his fault, is it?"I thought we agreed that you wouldn't be concerned about that whore, Halsey?" Heidi stepped forward and tugged at his sleeve.Wait, they are really together? How come I missed that information? "Don't call her a whore, Heidi. I'm not that patient."Heidi sniggered, "She's played the three of you _ Darwin; Yoshimi and you. What does that make her?""Renata was in a fake relationship with Darwin. There was nothing else between them." Or who exactly amongst us was mistaken? I or they? "That doesn't matter. She's a witch that once threatened to
Ava."Does Darwin know?" I asked as I examined the two dresses I held in my hands. One was a plain white slip-on gown, it was a simple look but the sequin designs at the sides along with the white rose at the waistline added a touch of elegance to it. The other was a red gown that screamed bad ass. It had thin straps and needed to be laced at the sides, plus the neckline was really low. Originally, if I were still that old Nakayla that didn't have to consider her position as a queen and an expecting mother, I would've directly gone for the red dress. But the white dress was more likely to hide my bump a little so I dropped the red one."I didn't tell him. He wouldn't approve of it if I had." She said as I walked over to the full-length mirror to see how I'd look in the dress.I nodded. She was right _ Darwin wouldn't allow us to do this if he knew about it in the first place. The dress wasn't so bad. It made me look noble and classy so I wasn't exactly being too much. It was enough
Ava."We've searched everywhere and sent out fliers but there has been no result. I am beginning to lose hope, Ava. I don't want her to die...Can you help me talk to your husband? Please, he can help."I knew it..!"Bullshit!" I slammed the table, getting on my feet at once. "I hope you do find her dead body." I stomped out of the room and left despite his calls and pleads.I couldn't believe what he just did. Could greediness be anymore real? And Celia was missing? It was less likely that she had gone missing or even wanted to be found. I thought Edward really had her under his watch. Alas, she finally got away with all her sins. I wasn't interested in worrying over her whereabouts. I had something even more pressing to think of.Yoshi...How did him impregnating someone have to deal with Darwin? What was the connection there? Should I tell Darwin about the text I saw? Or not?I pulled myself together and cleared all these sensitive thoughts from my head once I'd gotten in Darwin's
