Robert strode into the coffee shop, deliberately unaccompanied by his entourage of guards. He had decided to meet the Dash without the constant presence of protection. As he entered, he took a quick scan of the shop, noting the scarce number of customers present. An expression of disdain crossed his face, his displeasure evident at the thought of being instructed on what to do.Just as he was about to dismiss the situation, a voice called out to him, causing him to turn in the direction of the voice. The person sitting at the table was the last individual he expected to see. Robert's mind quickly assessed the person, observing the resemblance he bore to Selena. Suddenly, everything fell into place, and it became clear to him."So, he was the son all along?" Robert pondered to himself, connecting the dots that had eluded him the first time he saw Dash."He must be joking," Robert thought to himself. "To Selena, he's just a friend. My girl doesn't even realize that he's been pretending
Robert's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected news. Selena's sudden return sparked a glimmer of hope within him, momentarily overshadowing him."Is she safe?" Robert's voice betrayed his worry, his grip on the phone tightening."Yes, sir," Miss Von replied, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. "She is just weak and needs medical attention."Relief flooded through Robert's veins, mingled with a renewed determination to deal with the bast*rd in front of him."Make sure she receives immediate medical attention," Robert instructed, his voice firm and resolute. "And keep me posted."As he ended the call, Robert's gaze shifted back to Dash, a newfound sense of determination etched on his face. The tables had turned, and the power dynamic had shifted in his favor. With Selena's return, nothing much stopping him from dealing with Dash. Robert had not known to be helpless in his entirety and the past few minutes was the longest time in his entire life. He had thought what if Dash was p
"The detailed manifo of the campaign Beverly corporation is ready and the campaign looks promising. We will make good money out of this business deal." The executive marketer, Miss Avery rambled on. The meeting went for the latter part of the morning and every issue concerning the new business deal with one of the leading companies in the town was covered. Mr Singh was present and so were his sons, Julio and Robert who was now the CEO of the company. The managing director of Beverly Corporation who in respect of Mr Walter Reed was present and throughout the meeting, he had constantly kept his gaze on Robert who obviously was the center of attraction as he sat in his mega chief executive seat mindless, toying with his pen and occasionally spacing out. Apparently his mind has been on Selena who lay back home in a critical condition as he has assumed since he has not checked on her himself to see if she was actually okay. Every aspect of the deal was examined and all executives
"Your friend is okay." Caleb said, settling beside Maria on the bed. Over the last few 24 hours after Maria faced the biggest fear of her life, she hadn't been able to put her racing heart at a place. She felt jumpy most of the time and Caleb had done his possible best to put her at ease. "She has been taken home and she is recovering." He added, reassuringly, pulling her to himself. "I missed you, you know?" His hot breath fanning her. "I missed you damn much." He muttered in a low whisper, nuzzling his nose on her neck. Maria's breath quickened as anticipation washed over her. She had missed him as much. How slowly she accepted him back was something she didn't know how it happened. The feelings had been there however she didn't want it to escalate to the point it was now. She was back with her ex and she didn't think she would ever regret this decision. "I missed you too." She mumbled, flashing red all over her face. "I really did." He chuckled at her reddened expression, "
Wrapping herself with a towel she stepped out of the bathroom but halted in her tracks at the sight of the person sitting majestically on the three seater chair near the bed. Robert had his legs crossed over to the other and he had this blank look on his face, with his legs tapping on the floor which indicated impatience, Selena's heart picked a race. He was all dressed and she knew maybe he had gone to the office and back or he was yet to go."Good morning." She mumbled and he turned his attention to her. "Good thing you are alive." he said with a blank look. "You took so much time in the bathroom, I had thought you had slipped knowing that you are a clumsy fellow." He mocked her. Selena bit her lip and tried to suppress the anger boiling inside of her. He didn't even ask her how she was doing. She gets that she is just a piece of trash he can throw away any time but at least he should show a little empathy for what she had gone through these few days. It was all because of him.
The morning was quite chilly and there were few cars on the street's road. Creed continued to drive, occasionally glancing at Selena through the rare mirror. It looked like she had a lot going on in her mind. Different emotions playing on her face. Pretty much was going through her head."I heard you will be free in a few days, that's good news." Creed initiated a conversation. Selena gave him a small nod, "yeah.""I wonder what your plan is after that." He asked curiously. Selena glanced at him briefly before looking away. "I guess to make something out of my life. I have no one so it's just me now." Her voice was sad. When he heard those words, a lump formed in his throat, he wished he could be more to her. He could be though."You know you don't have to feel like you are alone now. You have got me at least. I'm your friend, remember?" Selena glanced at him and saw the sincerity in his eyes. Chuckling under her breath, she said "I know that but anyone relating to Robert Fin c
For Selena, the journey has been the most silent one she has embarked in a while. She didn't ask for Robert to take her anywhere yet she couldn't protest because Robert Fin does whatever he wants. She has no say in whatsoever. She sighed for the umpteenth time and glanced at his side profile as he bent over flipping through some files. Sighing again, she looked away."Are we there yet?" Selena asked in frustration. He stopped abruptly, putting down his file and turned around to look at Selena with a raised brow.Taking a deep breath, she answered, "sorry, I didn't mean to-"Robert cut her short, "why are you apologizing?""I don't know. Maybe because each time you stare at me, you look creepy and scary." She mumbled and he chuckled in amusement. "I don't look creepy. You are the one assuming things." "Whatever, Robert." She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest."Don't you dare be such a bitch to me." He muttered and returned to the files. "Ungrateful fellow." He cursed.Sel
"So Ma'am, I hope you slept well?" The maid who now has a name tag, Flora, asked, pouring Selena a cup of coffee. Selena was wrapped in her sleeping wear. Her sleepy eyes dulled out as she tried to make up what the maid had asked."You said what?" She mumbled and slipped off the bed, staggering. For the record, she slept off on the couch. How did she get on the bed?"I asked if you slept well?" Flora repeated her question, shaking her head. She likes Selena and it was obvious. Selena was easy to love anyway."What do..es..t.tha.t me..a.n" Selena slurred and blinked repeatedly to wave off the sleep in her eyes."Here." She tried handling the coffee mug to Selena. "Thank you." Selena thanked as she took the drink and sipped it, returning to full consciousness. The coffee tasted delicious. "Does the coffee taste fine?" She heard Flora ask after seeing the change in her facial expression."Yes." Selena replied, giving the maid a sincere smile.Flora giggled, "If you need help showering, l
