BEST FRIEND’S PROPOSAL

‘I think I heard it wrong,’ Care told to herself.

“Is it true?” she asked him with a wild look in her eyes. Bill had no choice but to tell the whole truth.

“You shouldn’t be angry with me. I am the one who contacted him through your phone. I told him about the video and for the return I asked him not to talk with you ever again. Daniel has been ungrateful to me for talking with you again.” Bill explained everything furiously.

“Whoa, I can’t able to catch but why do both of you lie to me? What’s the matter with you? Why do you care about him talking with me? And why did Daniel try to contact me even though he knows Iam not the one who sent it. Iam confused. You are confusing me,” Care muttered fast and had a tight grip on the plate till her hands got hurt.

“That’s all I can say.” Bill wasn’t ready to tell everything.

“Don’t you dare talk to me again? You used my phone without permission and you cause all these problems.” Care kept that plate down, making a noise that isn’t audible at this party.

“You can’t blame me. Daniel was the one who confronted Becca in front of others, and how did you get that footage?” He questioned her, reading an eyebrow.

“That’s none of your business. Now it’s out.” She crossed her arms.

“Well, now I understand more about you. You are defending Daniel than me who has been with you all these years.” Care saw the look of hurt in his eyes. She doesn’t think that this thing will become a problem with him.

“Iam not defending him. Becca fooled Daniel. There’s no fault in him,” She still supported him.

“Yes. He’s perfect and Iam wrong. All these years, I secretly loved you, admired you, and never admitted it. Now you have easily been distracted by a millionaire actor within a few weeks. We have been friends, but I wanted more than that, which will not happen,” Bill furiously said.

“What? you loved me,” Care can’t able to realize what you told in these few seconds. She always has seen him as her friend. But he kissed her one day. That memory came into her mind. The day she was stressed and caught up in the moment. Maybe she wondered about what that kiss meant, but soon after all other problems she forgot about this. She hurt her friend. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Bill is jealous of Daniel. Daniel has everything that Bill hasn’t. Care doesn’t want Daniel’s money or anything. She’s not that type. Since she met him in real life, she has been distracted and waited for Daniel’s call. When they both bonded, Bill can’t able to see that. If he had told it, in the beginning, he won’t be having heartbreak now.

“Enough,” Bill stopped her and walked away without a word. Care wants to cry. She wants to go after him but she can’t do it. She can’t say anything to assure him because she always has seen him as a friend. 'Daniel and Bill already talked with each other. I never know about that' she thought to herself. That means Daniel talked with her on purpose. Anyway, it’s not a time to think about that.

"Can I take the cupcake?” a boy with specs asked Caroline.

“Take everything.” Care kept the whole plate in his hands and walked her way out of the school. Now, all she wants is to talk with her sisters. She has to share this with someone.

‘I hurt my best friend. Why can’t I know what he feels for me all these years? If I knew it, I would have sorted this out earlier. Which is not going to happen ever again.

Bill and Caroline’s conversation was Loud enough to be heard by anyone near them. Becca heard half of their conversation while passing the hall. All she ever heard or noticed is Caroline is behind her embarrassment, problems, and whatnot. She called Tiffany and Wes. She can’t able to spot them at the party. They both have a date, but she is standing here alone without anyone.

“Damn it, why isn’t she attending the call?” Becca shouted at the phone in frustration. ‘They are an utter waste in a time of need. I will do it myself,’ she planned something and smiled to herself.

“Can I join you, guys?” Chloe politely asked Ian, Taylor, and their friends at the party.

“Yeah, Ian’s date is definitely allowed here,” Taylor teased them again, even though they are friends.

“Hmm. Then your date is standing there. Go talk with him,” Ian teased her in return by showing Wes. Who likes Wes? especially the Enemies of Becca won’t like him. Wes is a good-looking boy, but his attitude doesn’t make anyone like him. Still, he has a girlfriend. She doesn’t have good taste.

“Ewww. I can rather die.” Taylor gave a disgusting look while everyone around them laughed. For Chloe, the 12th grade students are new to her. She never knew anyone other than a few friends. They are also not interested in knowing her. Chloe is waiting for Sara and Sookie who went to get some refreshing juice.

Care is standing next to the front door of the Roshord school. She can’t leave the party without her friends. Her phone is vibrating and saw some texts from Chloe.

Chloe: Sis, can you come to my class. I need to talk to you.

Caroline: yeah, but aren’t you at the party. Why are you calling me to your class?

Chloe: I got something to tell you.

Caroline: I got time for you. I am coming.

Care texted fast and smiled to herself. Finally, she can tell her problem to her sister. But what she’s going to tell at this time. Anything important?

Care ran back to the school. The party noise was minimized when she entered her sister’s classroom. It’s empty, silent, a little bit scary in the dark. She doesn’t turn on the light. There’s no one in the room except her. Care looked at her phone once again and some shadow becomes visible in front of her. She looked up nervously, and the person is behind her.

“Caroline Lowe. Do you want to make any wishes because this will be your last day?” someone wickedly spoke. The person’s voice boomed in Care’s mind more than once.
