EVE

My eyes widened. "Lucian?" Tears streamed down my face.

How was he everywhere I went? I always stayed away, but one way or another, he always found a way to show himself to me.

For a moment, I wondered why my life was so complicated. Here I was, running away from him, and then he turned out to be my mate. Or didn't I just hear it well?

"How?" I whispered. "Why? Why do bad things end up happening to me? I don't want any of these, please." I felt so frustrated and tried to pull myself away from Lucian's grip, but he wasn't letting me go.

His hands were wrapped tightly around me, and his eyes were pinned to my face. "Have you seen where the sudden attraction came from?" He asked, and I melted into his arms.

I got subdued in his eyes. "Please, let me go." My voice was barely above a whisper.

"What if I don't? What if I just want you here by my side?" He swallowed as his hand slid down my waist, and he carried me in bridal style.

I whimpered like a child in his arms. Even if I e

NICKOLAS I noticed a change in Valeria's attitude in the past few weeks... it wasn't like she was upset with me. It was more like she was worried and scared of something. I knew she was searching for her mother, but that look she had wasn't just about her mom, and I hoped she wasn't worried about me because I didn't want her to get stressed out. I had suggested and pleaded with her to leave her mother's case to me. I promised to find her mother in a while if she let me. But she never agreed to it. She said it was her responsibility to do that and that I needed to rest. I really felt bad. I crossed my arms behind me as I strolled past the garden and headed to the lobby. I waved at some children, and for a moment I wondered what I was going to do for Giselle. I knew that in no time I would gain both the forgiveness of Valeria and Giselle, and I hoped everything would be fine after that. I really missed the old days, but there was nothing I could do about it. It was the past, and now

NICKOLAS I raked my hair backwards as I did some paperwork when the door flew open and Valeria stormed in. My soul left my body when she slammed the door behind her. She ran into the restroom and shut the door behind her. I knew something wasn't just right with that, so I ran after her. I turned the door knob and pushed the door open. My eyes fell on her as she sat on the floor of the restroom, sobbing quietly. I kneeled down beside her. It had been a while since I saw her cry, and she merely cries for just anything. She must have been really hurt. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me as I caressed her hair. "I'm here for you... you don't have to be scared of anything or anyone." I growled and thought of any possible person or thing that must have made her that upset. I patted her back and held up her jaw so she could stare at me... her eyes were swollen as if she had been crying before she came here. "Leria, it hurts my heart to see you cry. It's like shootin

NICKOLAS Valeria has not been happy with me for the past few days because I didn't end what I started. I wish she saw reasons with me. I was sorry that I made her vulnerable... I just wanted her to stop feeling hurt. I stood by the window, lost in my thoughts, when I heard a knock on the door. My eyes darted to the door. "Come in," I ordered, and the door was pulled open. Remus walked in and stood in front of me. I stared at him as I wondered why he came to me this morning because he never does that. "Is anything wrong?" I strode to the wine rack and took a bottle of sparkling water and a glass. Remus nodded. "Brutus is here to see you." I could swear that my heartbeat slammed against my lungs when I heard his name. Nothing good ever came out whenever his name was mentioned. Now, I wondered what was wrong and why he wanted to have a conversation with me. "Let him in." I responded as I poured myself a glass. Remus hesitated. "Are you sure?" His voice is not rigid like it used

LUCIAN I happened to overhear what Nickolas was discussing with the older epsilons, and I hated that Brutus didn’t want to give up. Now that I finally had Eve, we just wanted to mess things up, and I wouldn’t take that. Not at all. Not one bit. I wondered what his interior motive was, aside from the fun he said he was having. What about the real reason all this began? I wondered why he was threatening Nickolas, and Nickolas wasn’t saying anything about it. I knocked on the door with all the anger that I had piled up in me. I was going to let it all out on him without minding what he was going to do. All of this needed to stop, and he had to stop it. “Come in," I heard his voice from inside the room. I pulled on the handle of the door and pushed it open. “What a pleasant surprise!" Brutus dropped the glass of wine on the table. “You have been having fun lately, and now you want to see me with that look on your face.” He gestured his hand on my face. That wasn't my business beca

VALERIA Three weeks ago I had searched through the pack just in case I got any information about my mother, but it just seemed like she never existed. I had never been so frustrated in my entire life. I even travelled to neighbouring towns just to inquire, but still, all to no avail. My father was a popular man, so why was it that no one knew about my mother? Nothing was making sense to me anymore. I met some elderly women, and they asked me to go back to Sam's house if I wanted to know about anything related to what I was looking for. I fell to my knees and begged the woman so badly, but she insisted that she had no idea about it. I wondered why everyone had been secretive about my mom. A lot of things went through my mind, and I was losing it slowly. At one point, I prayed that I'd find someone who knew about her whereabouts and tell me so I'd just go to the next stage. The whole thing was slowly eating me up. It was driving me insane, and I wouldn't be lying if I said I wante

EVE For the past two days, I have been dodging myself from going to the kitchen. I had no idea how to explain to Mom that I already had a mate. Not just any mate, but Lucian. I never expected that I'd see a mate so soon, not to mention that I have a beta as my mate. The moon goddess was faithful to me, but it was also a punishment and a pain in the ass. Up until now, I still couldn't answer what made me accept Lucian's request to be my mate. Yes, he was my mate, but why did I agree with him? Was I under a spell because I couldn't believe that I avoided him all this while just to accept him as my mate? Hell was going to break loose the moment Miss Sophie found out. I stared at my reflection in the mirror as my gaze travelled to my neck. It has been five days, and yet the mark is still visible, like it was made some seconds ago. Yes … Lucian had marked me already. I never expected for that to happen, but I couldn't stop it from happening as well. I couldn't even believe that I now

NICKOLAS I was surprised when Lucian demanded to see me, it was something he had never done even though I hardly found him around Brutus. I wondered what was wrong this time around and what they wanted from me... I was already sick and tired of the whole thing that was going on. I pushed the door open, Lucian turned around and bowed slightly. I waved my hands at him and walked up to where I was meant to sit down. I pulled out the chair and sat. "I am quite surprised to see you... Is something wrong or do you have a message for me from Brutus?" I needed to know so I could plan ahead of what to do because at this point, I was tired of everything that was going on. It was driving me insane. I wasn't going to lie about it. Lucian chuckled dryly as he shook his head. "Ohh. This is the first time nothing is wrong." I paused, my face was stern. "It looks like today is going to be full of surprises." "I decided to stand up against Brutus." Lucian said as he adjusted. The moment he s

NICKOLAS There was no longer time to waste, I needed to make it up to Valeria and Giselle now while I still got the chance to. I walked into the room I had set up for Giselle, I had no idea what she would really like so I had everything kids her age would want and love to have.“How’s wverythin going with the preparation?” I asked Remus.Of all my my guards and errand boys, I had no idea why but I put all of my faith on Remus. I had tested him countless times and was proud that he passed all of them.Remus scanned the room as he walked up to me. “I did as you requested and I also asked suggestions from other kids. But, I feel like all of this isn’t needed.” he said quietly.“Why do you say so?” I crossed my arms and put all of my concentration on him. “When I asked other kids..they mentioned something about Giselle not really liking the things they loved.” Remus scratched his head. “So I have no idea.”I had always known that my daughter was matured for her age.
