My eyes were locked, staring at nowhere as I carefully listened to every word Samuel and Carter utter from outside the cabin.

Regardless of not having a wolf, I still have werewolf blood running through my veins. The sharpened senses werewolves have still apply to me although mine wasn’t sharpened.

Moreover, it’s not like Samuel and Carter were cautious that somebody might hear them as they were actually talking casually. No one would even bother to listen to them anyways.
