Chapter hundred-thirteen

Ariah’s POV

“Put out that damn fire, quickly!” Leia ordered and I rushed to it and started taking out the burning woods and stomping on them.

In a minute or so, the fire was out and a huge cloud of smoke went up into the air with a harsh, sizzling sound. I heard approaching footsteps and my heart started to pound. I looked around the clearing, I was surrounded by thick bushes and tall trees. As the footsteps got closer and closer, I ran into one of the thick bushes. The moment I disappeared, three men sprang into the clearing, at the exact spot I had been.

What was going on? Who were these men and why did what they put on seem so familiar? I watched them from my hiding spot. There was a fetid smell about where I hid, but I couldn’t move from there, so I held my breath.

“It’s the same scent, isn’t it?” One of them asked, looking around with his small, bead-like eyes peering into the darkness.
