Wait! Let me accompany-”
Before Juliet could finish her sentence, I ran through the crowd in the opposite direction of Sasha.
‘No! No! How can she be here? She was occupied on the other side of the party! I can never meet her.;’
‘H-How will she react if just for once I talk with- What am I even thinking!’
Thousands of conflicting thoughts were in my head when I barged into the washroom. Without realising it, my vision blurred by tears. The tears I always tried to hide from everyone, began to run down from my eyes. Biting my lips, I tried to control the sobs as I kept on murmuring, “Calm down! Calm down! I have an important mission to handle. I must not get distracted.”
Taking deep breaths, I calmed myself down and wiped away the tears from the corners of my eyes. But the memories that I was trying to suppress were constantly tormenting me within.
After waiting a while, I decided to go back to the party, suppressing my emotions. Obviously, that mission was more important than my silly emotions.
However, I suddenly noticed that my body started to feel light-headed with a faint dizziness. A sweet smell! The sweet smell of that perfume was still lingering around me, getting stronger with every passing minute.
I drank some cold water and then left the washroom. I didn’t have time at all to waste.
“Hey! Are you ok, Lily?,” Juliet’s voice startled me the moment I opened the door. She was approaching me along with Mr. Hogg.
I curled my lips with my professional, enchanting smile as I answered, “Yes. I was just feeling slightly light-headed.” Tucking a strand of my hair, I added while walking towards them, “Sorry for making you worried.”
Juliet’s eyes scanned my expression for a moment. Then returning my smile, she responded gently, “Oh dear! You are looking exhausted. Why don’t you just take some rest?”
“No! No!”
I hastily denied, “I am fine. I don’t need-”
Mr. Hogg suddenly leaned closer and tilted my face, touching my chin softly, “Don’t be shy. I can see that you need some rest.”
“I am fine. You must not-”
I couldn’t finish my sentence as my body began to feel heavy and warm. A quiver surged through my veins and that dizziness was only intensifying. My breathing became faster as I tried to calm down my rapid heartbeat.
A weird sensation was rushing through my blood. I couldn’t really concentrate on what Mr Hogg and Juliet were talking about. I realised that something was wrong with my body. Staggering, I took a few steps backwards as I mumbled in a faint and breathy voice, “I- I am not feeling well. I think that I should leave-”
“Oh dear! Come with me. I will take care of you,” Juliet wrapped one of her hands around my shoulder and led me to the opposite sides of the corridor.
My head was feeling so messy that I couldn’t even understand what she was talking about. Staggering my burning body, I just followed her. Within a few minutes, I found myself in front of an empty and dark bedroom.
With her mysterious smile, Juliet pushed me inside that vast, deluxe bedroom as she murmured in a low tone, “Rest for a while, dear. I will see you soon.”
Before I could protest, she left, closing the door.
“Aggh! What is this burning sensation? I am feeling so hot.”
I dragged my heavy body towards the bed while unzipping my dress with trembling fingers. Fire spread all over my body and a spurt of hungry desire spiralled through me. My heart was hammering as I was craving for something sinful, something forbidden while tossing and turning on that king-sized bed.
Suddenly, a familiar and manly scent hit my nostrils with a familiar shiver of awareness.
I somehow managed to open my eyes and found a pair of emerald green eyes, strong and unwavering, staring at me. He had an achingly tender expression. His presence was magnetic and intoxicating. I swallowed hard, trying not to lose myself in his predatory gaze.
His face came a little closer and…
My heart skipped a beat. I could not maintain eye contact with him anymore.
‘Yes! Hallucination! It must be my hallucination. He can’t be here. No, it’s just-’
His husky whisper broke the silence, “Are you trying to seduce me, Woman?”
My eyes opened wide instantly as I observed his strong and perfect profile. No, it wasn’t my hallucination. He was really in front of me, staring at me.
“Keir!”
I couldn’t help but mumble in a low and puzzled tone.
I raised my trembling hand and touched his cheek in utter disbelief as I asked in my puzzled tone, “Keir? Is that you, Keir?”
His musky scent and intense gaze skyrocketed my heartbeat. Drops of water were dripping from his wet hair on my face, making a brief shiver ripple through me. His lips were so close to mine.
I couldn’t hold back anymore.
The guy from whom I was running away for all those years was the same guy I always desired the most. I wanted him, wanted him to be mine only.
I wrapped my arm around his neck and pulled him closer. He looked confused but he didn’t try to stop me. His midnight-black hair gleamed in the light and his emerald eyes were studying me with a curious intensity.
Suddenly, I pressed my lips to his, drawing him into a renewed embrace and savouring every moment. He tasted like expensive wine and his warm breath made me quiver for more.
It was a kiss as tender and light as a summer breeze but very brief.
I sharply pulled myself back, realising my mistake. However, I had a burning desire, an aching need, for another kiss. My eyes were still fixed on his compelling eyes that turned darker and wild.
The world seemed to stop as I was caught up in the everlasting moment. He furrowed his brows like he was conflicted, unsure what to do. His inner conflict was visible on his dazzling handsome face.
I bit my trembling lower lip to calm me down and in an instant, pinning me on the bed, he crushed his lips on mine, wrapping his strong fingers around my neck. It was neither sweet nor tender, he was claiming my lips, owning every inch of them.
I opened my mouth willingly, losing myself to his demanding and urgent kiss. His tongue was claiming mine, seductively, fiercely. I was quivering under his touch, letting myself be consumed by him.
His slender fingers pressed against my neck firmly, almost choking me as he intensified the kiss while untying the fancy laces of my dress. His hand slipped under my dress, wandering recklessly while burning my skin for more of his touch.
A tiny moan of ecstasy slipped through my lips. We both were craving for each other and kisses were not enough. Parting our lips, he started planting hungry kisses and tiny bites on my neck, leaving red marks on my skin.
“Damn Woman!”
He stopped abruptly and pulled himself back in an instant. Almost jumping down from the bed, he grabbed his phone from the bedside table as he grumbled in his breathy voice, “You are drugged! You are not even in your right senses!”
I tried to mumble in protest, “Don’t leave! I need you, Keir. I- I am burning, craving f-for you. T-touch me more.”
Keir talked with someone on call but I couldn’t understand anything as my head was feeling so dizzy. I was repeating those same few words in a breathy and low whisper, “M-My body is burning. M-My head is-”
“Shh! Shh!”
His comforting voice whispered into my ears suddenly as his intoxicated scent wrapped me into a warm blanket once again, “It’s ok. You will be all right. The antidote will be here soon.”
He was sitting close to me, talking so softly with me.
I felt at ease. I couldn’t stay awake anymore. My heavy eyes gradually closed and calm darkness prevailed everywhere.
I could still hear his distant voice.
‘Who are you? Why do you feel so familiar yet a stranger!’
‘Have we met before!’
"Damn it, Isaac!"I cursed under my breath, storming down the quiet corridor of the second floor. My hands trembled as I repeatedly dialed his number, my frustration mounting. "Why isn’t he answering?"Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision, while my face—pale and drawn—showed the torment I couldn’t escape.Barefoot, clutching my heels in one hand, I stumbled out of Velvet Villa into the stillness of the early morning. The streets were empty, save for a light mist rolling across the ground. There weren’t any guards around, which was a blessing. No one stopped me, no one questioned my disheveled appearance.I dragged my tired body further away from the villa, every step an effort. My head throbbed, and the tears burned my cheeks. I muttered through gritted teeth, "How did I end up with him again?"The memories of last night replayed in my mind, each one piercing my heart like a dagger. My face turned hot with a mixture of anger and shame as I choked out, "I… I hate him. I hate h
“Make Haste, Eliza! Eden is waiting for you outside,” Aunt Christi was running behind me, holding my handbag while I was still trying to fix my extravagant and heavy gown. It was the first time I had attended such a huge social gathering; I was feeling extremely anxious, too. One of my grooming ladies tried to calm me down, “Little Missy, that gown looks so elegant on you.” While rubbing my fingers nervously, I scanned myself once again in the huge oval mirror of my bedroom as I mumbled, “Don’t you think that this dress is a little too much? I think that I should wear something casual and-” “You can think later. We are already running late.” Shoving my matching handbag in my hands, Aunt Christi just walked me out of the room, holding my wrist. My heart was thumping so loudly that I couldn’t hear any other sound around me. My introverted personality was screaming in frustration. The moment Aunt opened the door, I found Eden, leaning against a huge pillar of our vast corridor. He wa
Good Evening, Aldus.”Eden curtsied to the Mage as he explained briefly, “Eliza Claire Gold is here to get your blessing so that she can officially join the pack tonight.”Aldus’s young voice echoed again, “Come inside. Let me have a glimpse of her destiny.” The room was dark still now but the moment we stepped in, a bright light filled the room and I found an old man with long white hair and dark eyes, sitting on a couch with a heavy book in his hand.He had a very gentle smile, peeping through his silky grey beard. Looking up at me, he greeted me warmly, “Good Evening, Miss Eliza. May I?”He raised his hand in front of me as he asked for my hand. He had a very unique aura, powerful yet mysterious and unpredictable. I felt awkward and slightly scared. But, he added again, “Don’t be scared, Young Lady. It will not be as painful as your first transformation.”Smiling nervously, I placed my hand on his, “I am not scared at all.”Chuckling, the old man covered my hand with his as he clos
(In the room of Keir Allen Walker, 5 years ago when he was 23 years old)(The Clan house of Night Walker clan, Verena City)“Damn! What a long day it was!”Keir just threw his exhausted body on his king-size bed after a long day of hard work. Through his open window, he could see the reddish sky and the horizon where a red fireball was wishing its goodbye for that day.The flocks of birds were returning back to their nests and the dense starfall forest was looking so mysterious and solitary at the reddening hue of the twilight. From afar, Keir could see the peak of the hill that was separating the Lycan and Werewolf kingdom.Suddenly, his heart twitched with a longing, recalling about that golden she-wolf which he saw last night. After that incident, he couldn’t sleep even a wink; the whole night, he was thinking about her. While tossing and turning on his bed, he spent the night frustrated and tormented. His Lycan was growling impatiently, demanding to meet her. That intoxicating scen
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold when she was still 19 years old)The sparkling stars filled the dark sky of the night. The full moon looked like a graceful queen, ruling over those diamond-like stars as its silvery light wrapped everything like a thin blanket. While walking through our porch, I headed to our flower fields which was my favourite spot to calm myself down. After meeting Aldus, I was feeling so restless that I needed some time to calm down before I could go back to the party.Eden allowed me to take a walk on our porch for only 10 minutes and he returned to the hall. Flowers carpeted the field below me, blooming as far as the eyes could see. My eyes searched for a spot where the flowers were thin and I sat down there, looking at the sky. It was like sinking into a fantasy world. I always felt that the flowers were so large and much more beautiful when sitting among them.Numerous fireflies began to approach me while flying around me as if I were their sole purpose of living. Su
My face instantly clouded with uneasiness. I felt a momentary panic as I almost jumped away from him. Though he let me go instantly, he still looked playful and nonchalant as if he wasn’t scared of anyone. The confidence and arrogance in his rigid profile were noticeable even in the dim light of the moon. Surely, he was neither a stalker nor an ordinary person. I mumbled in a low whisper, “Leave fast! My brother is coming.”“So, your name is Eli? Are you going to join this pack?”That stranger asked in his nonchalant tone, tucking both of his hands behind his head and lying down in a more comfortable position on the flower bed.Sighing loudly, I jumped on my feet as I growled under my breath while dusting my gorgeous gown, “It seems that you have a very short life. What a weird person you are!”Without waiting for his answer, I shouted while running towards Eden hastily, “Here, I am.”I heard his soft voice from behind, “Firefly, we will meet soon. This time I will-”‘He will?’I coul
“Come inside, Eliza.”Father’s harsh voice declared from the opposite side of the door . It looked like a very confidential issue as two pairs of guards were stopping everyone from entering the study room. Murphy tagged alone with me but he was stopped outside. I noticed our Beta who was waiting outside the room. When I entered, I noticed that Alpha Edward and Eden were sitting at the tea table with grave faces while listening to something very attentively. Two strangers; one in inky black tuxedo and another in casual attire were sitting, facing their back at me. However, they neither looked like invaders nor were they treated as criminals. The moment Father noticed me, he stated with his big affectionate smile, “Eli, meet our special guests. They are going to live in our guesthouse for a few days.”‘Guest!’I looked at Eden with a puzzled expression. But before I could react, both of them stood up and greeted me warmly. They had different facial features but both of them had somehow
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold, 5 years later when she is 24 years old)(Present time, lying in Issac’s car)“Wake up, Lily! We have reached your home.”Issac’s gentle voice woke me up. Tears were glistening at the corner of my eyes as my eyes were still clouded with memories. My nights were sleepless due to those tormenting memories.I tried my best to forget my past and start fresh but they were chasing me like my shadow. They kept on coming back, again and again. Taking deep breaths, I calmed my hammering heartbeats as I almost dragged my aching body out of the car.“Wait! Hold my hand,” Issac hastily approached me. He looked worried. He wrapped his coat around my shoulders as he supported me to walk inside. My house was a small, three-roomed cottage in the outskirts of the city, a little far away from the pack house.Awkwardly, clearing my throat, I mumbled, “I am ok, Issac. You don’t have to-”Issac cut me in the middle of the sentence as he ordered, “Stay quiet. You need to rest well.
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold)(One month later)“It’s so sunny today!”I dropped onto the cozy couch on the balcony of the little cottage nestled in the forest. Sweat trickled down my forehead, and my breath was uneven after a 10km run. Hearing footsteps behind me, I turned sharply, startled.“Sasha! When did you get here?” I asked, my face lighting up with a bright smile.Sasha sank onto the couch beside me, holding a cup of coffee. “I’ve been waiting for you for fifteen minutes. Where on earth were you so early in the morning?”“Oh, I was just bored staying inside,” I replied casually. Smiling brightly, I added, “Why don’t you stay with me today? I’ve been so lonely lately that I ended up teaching myself how to cook.”Laughing, Sasha raised an eyebrow. “Were those dishes even edible?”“Of course!” I said, puffing up my chest proudly. “Aunt Merry even complimented my cooking. I could cook lunch for you today if you want!”Throwing her hands up in surrender, Sasha exclaimed, “No way! We’r
“You can moan louder!”Passion coursed through me, igniting every nerve as I trembled under the intensity of his playful tongue. My voice wavered, barely a whisper. "Keir... it feels so-"Before I could finish, his fingers gently pressed against my lips, silencing me as they slid inside. The warmth of my breath mingled with the slickness of his touch, heightening the tension between us.My body arched instinctively, every muscle tightening as waves of pleasure crashed over me. A soft cry escaped my lips, and when I met his gaze, the satisfied curve of his smile sent another jolt through me.Keir leaned down, his lips capturing mine with a fiery hunger. "Don't give in so soon, Eliza," he murmured against my mouth, his voice low and commanding. "We've only just begun.”My breath came in quick, shallow bursts as the heat between us grew unbearable. His body pressed closer, the firm evidence of his desire teasing me, brushing against the dampness he'd already claimed. The anticipation was
(POV of Young Eliza Claire Gold)I somehow managed to stammer, "Y-You already have a mate! H-How can I-"Keir's arms tightened around me, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered, "Yes, I do. I found out my mate is my childhood friend-but none of that matters because my Lycan craves you, Eliza. You, more than anyone, more than her, more than fate itself.""Oh."I tilted my face toward him, raising a brow. "So, you want me because your Lycan desires me, is that it?"Keir chuckled low, a sound that sent a shiver down my spine. Before I could react, he spun me to face him. His hands gripped my waist firmly, pulling me closer until there was no space between us. His voice was low, deliberate. "No, Princess. I want you because I love you. I care for you. You're mine-not because of my Lycan, but because I choose you. I've always chosen you before everyone."My heart pounded so loudly I was sure he could hear it. His intense gaze locked onto mine, his breathing ragged. I could feel his
POV of Young Eliza Claire"Keir? Where are we going?"I asked, my voice filled with curiosity as I looked around the unfamiliar path. Instead of heading back to the Night Walker Clan house, the car sped deeper into the forest of the Night Walker Territory.Without glancing at me, Keir smirked mysteriously and replied, "You'll find out soon, Firefly. Are you sleepy?"It was close to midnight, but sleep was the last thing on my mind. Keir's presence had stolen any trace of tiredness. My heart fluttered restlessly as my eyes kept drifting to his sharp, handsome features. His charming smile lingered on his lips, and in the soft glow of the moonlight, he looked like a perfect sculpture carved out of stone.Sensing my gaze on him, he suggested, “Take a nap if you want. I’ll wake you up when we get there.”“Umm, no, it’s fine,” I murmured, smiling shyly at him. “I can stay up all night if you—”“If I ask? Would you really do whatever I ask?” Keir teased, his tone playful.Shaking my head, I
POV of Young Eliza Claire Gold“It’s getting late. I think I should leave now,” Eden said, glancing at his watch. I sat besidehim, with Sasha on his other side. Keir and Kyrell were seated next to me.Dave, the host of the party, had stepped out for a moment to greet some VIP guests. The party downstairs on the ground floor was lively, but Keir had arranged a quiet meeting with Eden on the second floor of Dave’s resort to keep things private from the Lycans’ Kingdom. It wasn’t safe for me to leave the Lycans’ Kingdom to meet Eden, so they invited him here. Dave, Keir’s childhood best friend, was helping us in every possible way. At first, I had found Dave a bit strange, but he turned out to be the most welcoming host I’d ever met.I tugged on Eden’s sleeve and looked up at him with pleading eyes. “When will you come to see me again, Brother?”Eden gently patted my head, his voice kind. “Very soon, Eli. I promise.”The thoughts of parting away from him was tormenting me from within. I
"I was extremely busy, as you know," Keir said in a friendly tone, shrugging his shoulders. The young, cheerful guy with gray hair and a delicate, slender build quickly dismissed his other guests. As Keir approached, the other guy leaped forward, wrapping him in a tight hug. "Buddy! I’m so happy to see you! I feel like I’m going to cry. I thought you’d forgotten me already."Struggling to free himself from the guy’s grip, Keir groaned in annoyance. "I wish I could forget you. Why on earth did I even think of coming to your party?""Because you desperately needed my help and were practically begging for it," the guy replied without letting go of him.Leaning against the doorframe, Kyrell watched the scene with a wide grin, clearly enjoying Keir's irritated expression like it was the most entertaining thing he’d seen all day. I turned to Sasha, confused. She leaned closer to whisper, “They’re childhood friends, and he’s—”"My God! Who is this gorgeous lady?"Interrupting her, the cheerf
“K-Keir!”My voice rose in surprise as I stared wordlessly at him, my heart was pounding rapidly. The glimmer in his emerald eyes sparkled like precious gems, stirring a whirlwind of emotions within me. I had missed him terribly, craving his presence during that long, lonely week. And now, as I finally stood before him, I could only gasp in astonishment. His gaze met my questioning eyes, and he gently took my hand in his. In his deep, teasing voice, he asked, “So? Did you miss me, Firefly?”A shy smile tugged at my lips, and warmth crept into my cheeks. Tucking a strand of my carefully styled hair behind my ear, I rolled my eyes and replied, “Humph! Why would I miss you?”Keir raised an eyebrow and pulled me a little closer, his tall figure leaning casually against the car. “You don’t look like someone who didn’t miss me,” he said, his tone playful. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”I looked up at him and replied quickly, “When did I say I wasn’t?”“Ah, so you’re so happy to see me that y
“Hello, I can’t return tonight. Don’t wait for me.”Keir’s call that night caught me off guard. He wasn’t coming back, and I didn’t see him for the next six days. The silence in his cottage felt oppressive at times, even though my life there was comfortable. I had everything I could need—both luxuries and necessities. Two maids were always around, taking care of me, and I was free to move about. I could go to the training ground to practice or stroll in the gardens whenever I wanted. Sasha visited me almost every day, and we spent hours chatting. Sometimes, she even took me to cozy little cafés within the inner territory. In just one week, we became close friends.Eden and I talked daily using Sasha’s phone. From her, I learned that both Kyrell and Keir had gone on a confidential mission, and it might take some time before they returned. Despite the comforts around me, I felt like I was living a secluded life.---(A week later, at Keir’s private training ground)“Afternoon, Eliza.”S
Sitting by the swimming pool, I was chatting with Sasha, who was, as always, her talkative self. She was animatedly recounting every moment she had spent with my brother, describing every word they exchanged.Pausing for a moment, Sasha took a long sip of her virgin mojito and leaned back on her sunlounger. “Why didn’t you tell me that Eden is so handsome?” she asked with a playful pout. “I would have dressed better to impress him!”A secretive smile tugged at my lips as I turned to her and said, “You don’t need to dress up, Sasha. Your smile alone is enough to charm anyone.”The cool evening breeze rippled gently over the lake’s surface, blending with the warm, reddish glow of the setting sun. The sky was painted in hues of orange and crimson, creating a serene backdrop.Curious, I asked, “My brother has never shown interest in dating or even talking to girls. Honestly, I was beginning to think he preferred guys. How did he manage to impress you?”Sasha burst into laughter, her eyes s
