Leia has to take in a breath of opal's words.

'Her mother? It sounds like something had happened to them.' Leia wonders as she gazes at the woman.

Opal looks so tired. It's the first time ever since they've met that Leia has seen this version of her.

Granted they haven't known one another for very long , from her prideful and capricious mannerisms she wouldn't have taken her for someone who would openly show her grief to a stranger.

"Is your mother still.." Leia trails off when opal gives her a small shrug.

"She's dead." Is her deadpan response.

"Opal…" Leia whispers, shocked by the broker's admission."I'm so sorry." She finishes, guilt enveloping her.

She feels bad. Like very bad. Like the scum of the earth bad. She shouldn't have pushed Opal, especially when she wasn't ready to face her past yet. Even if she didn't trust the other woman, nobody deserves being reminded of their loss.

"Why should you apologize? It certainly wasn't your fault." Her words are cold and they immediately
