My gait wasn't stable yet and I felt lightheaded. All thanks to the night, it hid me well from Pete's peering eyes.

"This isn't anything. I just needed to escape Pete's tea and Vera's news came just right in time. It's nothing but a good diversion!" I yelled at my wolf and plunged his excitement about seeing Vera into the mud.

This is nothing but a diversion. I chanted to myself as I proceeded into Vera's ward.

Killan was standing on guard, he bowed, greeting Pete and me as he led us in.

Vera's eyes were wide open. But unlike before, she blinked as she saw me. Her eyes widened and something like fear was evident in them

Can she make emotions already? Good.

As I walked towards her I felt the dread in her eyes. She was afraid of something. Me? Good. I scoffed.

I wasn't feeling too good, hovering over her wasn't good for me, it made me dizzy. So I just sat by her bed.

My wolf whom I had tamed just before we walked in broke into zoomie moves, prancing happily in my head.
