My breakfast had always been a warm cup of tea, but this morning I didn't spend much time in the office. A lot was going on and I needed to clear my head. A neighbouring pack was on fire, I couldn't sit idly in my office. Immediately after I spoke with Derrick, I went out on patrol.

I addressed the Pack's army and ensured that the garrisons were fortified.

When I was don with the army, I left the barracks and checked on a few more departments, correcting and encouraging them.

I was still recovering and I had overestimated my strength. The patrol ended abruptly as I felt exhausted and famished too. So I requested breakfast.

The food wasn't prepared in the Alpha's kitchen, I just ordered it randomly. I settled in one of the dining rooms and my food was served.

I had almost taken the first spoon when I remembered Vera. The last time she served my tea, I made her taste it. Wanting to relish the memory I commanded, "Stop!" The last maid who was walking out froze and she was bundled
