The two traveled to the nearest town to find a horse. Amara wonders how they will be able to get one, but she lets Radley take incharge. Maybe he has some money to buy a horse. She shrugged at het thoughts.
There are a lot of people in the town. Seems like there is a festival going on. She swears she heard Radley say it's perfect timing. She wonders why his master told that. “Now I call him master, urgh!” Amara shivered at the thought.
“Wait here.” Radley whispered to her.
She checks the place where Radley left her. It is near a horse stable. The owner seems to rent out his horses to the people. She saw Radley having a conversation with a fat small man, around 60’s. Amara concluded that it was the owner, since Radley came back holding a fine looking horse.
“How did you manage to get that?” she amusedly asked.
“Communication, your majesty.” he proudly said.
Amara rolled her eyes which made Radley laugh a bit.
“Well, you have to learn how to play with people's emotions and mind if you want to survive my dear.” Radley explained. “Basically , we are stealing this horse, without the owner’s knowing.”
“Yes, but how? I want to know how.”
“Well, I told the owner that we are from the north. And we all know that in the north there are plenty of magical creatures who are guarding gold. I just told him to lend one of his finest horses and I will come back with the payment. I pointed you out to him. I said you had the gold. Now look at our back princess. Is he looking?”
“Ah…yes..” Amara worriedly said.
“Well, hope on the horse princess.” Upon saying that, Radley assisted Amara to get on the horse. He jumped right after Amara. “Now look at our back, does the owner look a little alarmed?” he asked.
“Ah…yes?” confused response of Amara.
“ Cool. Now hiya!” Radley quickly yells at the horse. The horse started running so fast. Amara heard the owner of the horse shout.
“Thieves!”
Shocked people quickly ran out of the way. Amara feared that they might hit bystanders or people walking on the street. She looked at Radley who seemed to not have any fear. He just continued to maneuver the horse.
“One rule when you steal,” She heard Radley say. “ never stop! Hiya!”
Amara just closed her eyes. They are near the gate, heading out of the town. She knew that once they come out, nobody will dare to follow. People in this town know that when you take that road, you will find death. And they cannot even come back to this town if ever, they’ll be in jailed and tortured.
“Do not close your eyes Amara.” Radley instructed Amara to just open her eyes and see what was happening. She has to be brave.
Amara opened her eyes. She saw two guards at the gate trying to stop them. But since the gate was just an open one without anything to block the way, Radley just continued and even made the horse run faster as it could.
The next thing Amara sees are guards jumping out of the horse way. They seem to know that there is no way the two of them will stop.
Successfully, they got out of the town. The people there were staring at them. Some just shook their heads, some looked at them with anger and some just laughed thinking we are not in our right mind and that we will soon die.
We took one last glance at that town, and then Radley instructed the horse to take the way to Adoran. It will be a long journey for sure.
The sun nearly sets and the two travelers feel tired and hungry. However, they cannot stop since they are in an unfamiliar place. They still have 3 days left before reaching their destination.
“Once we see a place that seems safe, then we will take a halt and rest. We have to search for food too.” Radley broke up the silence.
“Well, we should have stolen food as well.” She said,
“Well you should have done that rather than waiting in the corner silly princess.” Radley teasingly said.
“You told me to wait!” Amara replied. Annoyance was visible in her tone.
“Just joking,” Radley tried his best to hide his laughter. “We don't have time to steal food. Besides, I heard that there are plenty of fruit bearing trees on this road. Since people do not go here, they said there is a paradise growing somewhere on this road.”
“That’s just a myth.” Amara concluded.
“Well, myth or not, we will surely discover it. But I do believe it. Since nobody ever dared to go here than those suicidal people, there is a posibility that forest here were left untouched.. Some call it a paradise before hell.”
“Is that…what we are talking about…” Amara wisphered in disbelief.
She was pointing out a forest where a lot of fruit bearing trees, from apples to mangoes, are visible to the naked eye.
“See… I knew it! I told you it was real.” Radley said in such happiness.”Now let's go there and eat and might as well spend the night there and continue traveling tomorrow, before the sunrise.” He added.
The two headed out to the forest. They can smell the sweet fragrance of the air coming from the forest. It’s alluring.
They successfully entered the forest but since it’s almost sunset, the forest becomes dimmer. Radly halted the horse and got off it. Then she assisted Amara. RAdley continued walking while holding the horse’s leash. Amara followed him. All of a sudden, an arrow passed by right in the horse front and hit a truck. The horse was startled and Radley almost got the horse out of control since he also sheltered Amara on his arm and guided her to kneel. Gladly, the horse calmed down after a while
“Hold this.” Radly instructed Amara to hold the lead rope.”I will check who attacked us.” After saying that, Radly tried to walk from where the arrow came from but before he could take a step, a man showed up. He immediately gets back to Amara and hides her behind his back.
“Trespasser!”
“Who are you!” the man shouted while pointing his sword to Radley. “Damn!” Amara heard Radley cursed for the very first time. She was confused when she saw Radley getting relaxed. His tense face lightened up. “Damn it Gabrielle!, you almost got us killed!” he said. Upon hearing Radley say that, Amara assumed that the man was Radle’s friend. The one that he talks about who will help them enters Adoran. The man seems to be in his 50’s but still has a good body for his age. His long white beard made him look a little older though. The man was confused and then realized that it was his friend Radley who used to bring him a jug of beer. “Damn!” he also cursed. “What the hell are you doing here Rad?!” he exclaimed. “It’s been a long time my friend.” Radly said and gave Gabrielle a tight hug. “We are heading to Adoran.” “What?! Are you mad?” Gabrielle shockingly said. “That’s what I told him exactly.” Amara interfered in their conversation. That's when the attention of the two men shi
The two continued their journey to Adoran, unaware of the danger they soon be facing. It was almost morning but the ambience of the road they are taking was errie. They knew something was wrong but they could not tell what is. From a far they saw a town. Radley did not now what town it is nor have an idea that it exist. When they were about to pass by the town, sudden heat immerge out of nowhere. From the eerie and cold atmosphere to a scorching heat. The heat almost hurt their skin and make them thirsty. Even their horse felt the heat. It was reluctant to continue. Radley does not have a good feeling about the town but when he saw Manara having difficulty continuing due to the sudden change of the weather, he decided to take a rest for a while inside that city. On the young man's mind, they might also find something useful on their way to Adoran. Manara, on the other hand, was not also aware of the danger they will be facing. She also have this weird feeling that she cannot figure
Meanwhile, Radley was still out in the street, trying to figure out the mystery of the town. He was casually walking and was near the entrance where they left their horse. He planned to get the horse and bring it near the tent where they stay so Manara will not get too tired walking when they need to get out of the place. He smiled at the thought. Is he starting to really care about the well-being of that weak princess? He smirk at the thought. When he was about to enter the house where they left the horse, he was approached by the same man who took their horse. "Hi, would you like to leave your horse here?" The man asked. "No, no." Radley answered. "I was about to get the horse that we left here earlier. "That is great!" The man exclaimed. "Do not worry, I will take good care of the horse" The man added. Radley was confused but he chose not to answer and monitor the man's movement. The man walk near Radley as if getting something, and then the man started to walk away, as if h
The light was very powerful that it cannot be looked at by the naked eye directly. Radley covered his eyes with his arm. Manara was still floating in the air, but this time unrecognisable. Her body become so bright as well and her eyes where glowing. The powerful wind that surrounds her also blows her hair. Her hands are glowing too.The strong wind that surrounds Manara suddenly stopps. And all of a sudden, Manara ost her consciousness. Due to that, she slowely descend from above. Radley quickly run to catch Manara. She fell right exactly at Radley's arms still unconscious.
Radley realizes Manara’s power. She was indeed a princess soon to become apowerful one. He realize he have to be more careful. On the other hand, Manara was still indisbelief. Radley told her what happen but she can’t believe it since she does not feel anychanges on her. Deep inside her she knows she have the power of illusion but does not knowhow to properly use it.She hid that fact to Radley. No oe has to know. They continued their journey. They still have long way to go yet they already experience a lot. Their trust and loyalty to each other is always being tested. It is indeed an exhausting journey towards her revenge. Manara started to question herself if she was really going to be successful on her journey yet the thoughts of her people gave her strenght to continue the path she have chosen.
It was a dark, eerie night. I was standing on the edge of the cliff. Watching the city from afar. The cold wind blowing my long black hair and my cloak does not protect me from the cold. Blood drips on my forehead but the pain is incomparable to what I feel inside. No tears falling from my eyes but my heart is breaking in silence.I feel lost. I am now a living dead. The solemn and sacred aura of my beloved city vanished into thin air. I can no longer hear the laughters of the children. The people chatting. My lady-in-waiting sweet gestures. Royal guards training and boasting "who is the strongest". Now tears started falling on my cheek as I clenched my fist with anger. The violence I witness, the scream I heard, they were all what is left with me.I never thought my life would change overnight. From my fairytale and peaceful life to a disaster. I can still remember the voices shouting…screaming for my help. I know I needed to do something but I failed. Those eyes staring at me fille
A loud crash woke up Manara’s deep sleep. A sharp pain in the head makes her wince a little. Manara stood slowly. She observed the place where she was and wondered how she ended up there. It was an old house and the roof was made of bamboo wood. It looks like it was specifically made for farmers since it has some hay and farming tools inside. She stands up despite feeling dizzy and almost stumbles on a rake. She let out a sigh. Again she heard the loud noises coming from the outside. She slowly walked to the door and there he found the annoying man whose name she still doesn't know.Upon seeing the man, Manara quickly went inside and grabbed the wooden rake. She was about to strike the man but the man was quick enough to notice Manara’s presence.“Whoa! Careful young princess, you might have killed me with that old rotten wood weapon of yours.” The man said, teasing Manara. “I see you’ve gotten your energy back.” he added while smiling.Annoyed, Manara threw the wood away and was abou

Radley made a deal to Amara that if she accepts the help of Radley, she needs to become his apprentice.“Alright. Let me be your apprentice.” Amara shyly said.Radly just shrugged his shoulders as if he already expected Amara to lower down her pride and let herself be his apprentice.“Okay.
