Chapter 5

Ravenna's POV

The footsteps became closer and I shut my eyes tight awaiting my fate. 

Whatever it is, I only know that there has been an attack outside and I'm not sure who was attacked. I shivered in fear as the footstep stopped directly in front of me. Fear wouldn't let me raise my head or even come out of my hiding place. 

"You can come out now". I heard Levilah's voice and I sighed. Thank goodness he's safe. 

When I refused to still come out, Levilah squatted before me and he dragged me out gently. Immediately I got out, I hugged him tightly. 

"Hey, you're safe now. They're not going to harm you. They're all dead "He rubbed my back gently and I just nodded and pulled away from him. I noticed that his hands and coat were stained with blood and I moved away from him a little and I couldn't even look at him properly. I don't know why I hugged him.

 I guess I was just too excited to see that he was the one who appeared and not some other person. 

"Are...are you okay?" I asked when I noticed his blood-stained hands and coat. 

He shrugged and looked at his hands then he folded the hands behind his back like he didn't want me to see them.

"It's just those silly rouges. This forest seem to be their harboring place and to them, we trespassed. You don't need to worry. It's not something serious, they're all dead anyway" He said casually and pulled out a seat then motioned for me to sit. 

I shook my head. 

"I'm... it's fine I'm no longer hungry. Can we leave now?" I asked feeling so afraid to stay in this place a bit longer. What if they attack us again? 

"You barely ate anything. They're not going to attack us anymore. You can sit and have your food patiently..."

"No. I would want us to leave this place. I'm.."

"Are you scared?" He smirked.

"Me?. Why would I be? I mean you're here to protect me right? , Why should I feel scared? Besides, it's not like I can't fight them off on my own" I decided to sound confident so he would at least not know that I'm a weakling but it seems I didn't sound confident enough because he laughed. 

Just as I was about to ask him another question, he dragged my hands gently and we made for the door. 

"It's okay. We can leave if you're scared and uncomfortable"

"I'm not scared" I protested. 

"I know" he smirked.

When we got outside my eyes twitched at the sight of the dead bodies in front of me. I gasped in fear as my hands shook. 

Blaze was already waiting for us by the car. He was slightly injured. He bowed and opened the door for Levilah and me and immediately we entered, Levi whispered some words to the owner of that restaurant, and Blaze zoomed off.

I opened my eyes only to find myself in a strange environment and I was lying on a flat comfortable surface which I assumed to be a bed. The room was dark, very dark but there was a glint of light that passed through the curtain and fell on a figure I could barely see.

I yawned. I remember falling asleep in the car but then... how did I get here? Was I carried?, Did levilah bring me here?, Are we in onyx pack already? There were so many thoughts and questions in my head that were only cut short when the figure standing in the room turned. 

 

"You're awake"  His cold, icy voice echoed in the darkness, and before I even got a chance to respond, the lights came on. 

"Did you bring me here?" I tried to avoid his gaze which was directly on me. 

He didn't respond. 

"you slept for hours".  He said after a while. 

" You'll be attending Onyx College for now, Blaze and one other guard will be assigned to watch over you today and protect you from any harm. If you have any questions, you can ask them because you will not get to see me every time. I hope you had enough rest because you'll be leaving now. Get ready" He commanded and before I got a chance to say anything, he left the room. 

A few minutes later, two maids came in bearing some clothes and new shoes. I watched them place everything they had brought on a stool and they moved to the bathroom afterwards. 

About an hour later, they were done and they led me downstairs where Blaze and one other guard were waiting by the car. 

I looked around hoping to find Levi but then, he was nowhere to be found. 

The whole house was so quiet but I could hear someone scream from the left wing of the mansion. Could that possibly be Levi? Everyone minded their business and acted like nothing was happening but then the scream became louder. 

"We should leave now. You don't want to get to school late" Blaze said snapping me out of my thoughts and I nodded and got into the car with him. 

The whole ride to the school was quiet and it didn't take long before we got to the school. 

My mouth dropped the moment the car drove into the school. This is the biggest school I have ever seen, it looks expensive and much bigger than my school in Cresentvale. 

'ONYX COLLEGE' was written boldly at the top of the School building. 

Blaze led me to the proprietor's office to register me and I was shocked the process didn't even take long. I didn't even sign or do anything important. Blaze only said a few words to the proprietor and I was given a few materials and uniforms immediately. I was also told to change into my uniform before the end of the day. 

In my former school, it would take at least a week to get the right size of uniforms ready.

They probably knew I would be coming today, and due to Levilah's influence, they quickly got everything ready before my arrival. 

It is happening so fast. Everything is happening so fast. Within two days, I got everything I had always dreamt of. 

Going to a good school, living in a big mansion, and having my room with my maids and bodyguards. Although I still think I do not need a bodyguard. I hate attention and being the only student with personal guards would attract lots of attention and side talks. 

"The secretary would lead you to your class," The proprietor said and I nodded and smiled. 

I picked up my stuff and left with Blaze and the secretary who tried to flirt with Blaze but he didn't even pay any attention to her. 

I could notice thousands of eyes staring at me on my way to class and I could hear them murmur. I felt like they would eat me up if I was left alone and for the first time since I got to this school, I appreciate having a bodyguard follow me around. 

"Oh my! ..is she Levi's mate?... She looks.. well...better than I imagined"

"Don't let Skylar hear you. Everyone knows he is Skylar's mate but he never claimed her"

''We don't know why the Alpha king brought her here. No one saw Alpha King Levilah claim her''

"No. I heard she was a maid in Cresentvale. But she is the definition of perfection. She's so pretty''

''Pretty you say....I am truly disappointed. I thought Levilah had a standard taste for women" One of them laughed

"We cannot say for sure if she's his mate or not"

"what  if he's just using her to pass time?"

The mutterings made me wonder how news could spread so fast. I mean it's just my first day in school and they already know so much. And who the hell is this Skylar? 

"Don't listen to them, Raven. Don't let the side talks get to you" Blaze said and I looked up at him and sighed. 

" How did they know so much?, And by the way who is Skylar?" I asked him 

"She's someone you shouldn't cross paths with. Very arrogant and aggressive. Her mother is also the proprietor of the school" He responded

"And everyone knows she likes Levilah. She was furious when she found out that he had found a mate" The secretary added. 

This is insane. I haven't even settled in yet and I already have an enemy?

" Oh, here we are!" The secretary said as she entered a classroom and Immediately I got in, all activities in the classroom stopped and all eyes turned to me. They all had this evil look on their faces and that alone was enough to tell me that I was not welcome here and they might just make my stay here really inconvenient for me. They looked like they would eat me up the moment I was left all alone and that alone got me scared.  

The secretary whispered some inaudible words to the class teacher, passed a file to her and afterward she left not without winking at Blaze. The teacher smiled nicely at me after she looked through the file. 

"I am Miss Eren, Your class teacher and I would like you to introduce yourself to the class Ravenna" 

I nodded nervously and I turned to face the class. 

"I am Ravenna Bale. I am a transfer student from Cresentvale.. and.."

"A transfer student? It doesn't look like it. I heard you were a maid who got rejected and now you somehow managed to trick our Alpha king who would soon get tired of you and toss you away like trash when he's done with you" A girl said from the back and the rest of the class laughed. 

I don't know how or when Blaze got to the front of the Fiona girl and dragged her out of her seat. He pushed her violently on the floor in front of the classroom, right in my front. I kept mute and stared in awe. By this time, the whole class was already quiet. 

"How dare you! Are you trying to say your Alpha king is dumb hence he was easily deceived by a girl?" Blaze asked, his voice sounding so rough and unfriendly. 

"I am sorry... I'm sorry Blaze. Please forgive me" The girl knelt in front of Blaze and placed her palms together to beg. 

"Now apologize to her if you do not want the Alpha king to hear of this"

Fiona who was already in tears turned to me and just as she was about to apologize..the door opened and someone whom I immediately guessed to be Skylar came in. All eyes turned to her. She looks good. She was tall and beautiful. Her hair, her skin...Now I see why her name is always on everyone's lips. 

"She would do no such thing, Blaze. I would never allow Fiona apologize to this..bitch in my presence" She stated arrogantly and moved closer to me and before I got a chance to say a word, she poured the hot cup of coffee she was holding on me and I gasped.
