Chapter 2

Levilah Onyx pov:

I grabbed his neck and held him high up in the air. I clutched his neck so tight and he choked

It was dark already, but in the darkness, I could still see the pain in his eyes. I loved it. I loved how he expressed that pain. That pain gave me satisfaction. 

"I'm going to ask you one last time. Where is he?" I yelled running out of patience as I squeezed his neck tighter. 

Since he wasn't able to say anything, he only pointed in the eastward direction, and without thinking twice, I shoved my other hand inside his throat and pulled out his lungs, his blood spilled all over me then I threw him on the ground and made my way towards the direction he had pointed. 

"You shouldn't have killed him. Do you know the particular place he hid?" My guard Czar, and the second in command of the onyx pack told me as he handed me a cloth to clean the blood that sputtered over me. 

"The scent, he pointed towards that direction which is Cresentvale, it's not big, so it wouldn't be such a big deal finding him. If I have to burn down the whole city pack to find him, I'll do so" I answered simply and made my way toward the cresentvale pack. 

But then the scent I was supposed to use to trail that bastard got me confused and was mixed up with something else. It was different and  no matter how hard I try to control it, the scent just kept growing stronger and stronger as I proceed to Cresentvale.

I looked at all of their faces which held nothing but panic and fear in them.

They were afraid of me and I was very satisfied with that,  Of course, they should be scared. The great Levilah onyx visited their pack which means can only mean one thing. Trouble. 

The scent I had earlier was still as strong as ever. It was much worse now. The wolf in me was also feeling different. Although I wasn't myself at that moment, I still maintained a chilling aura, which made them shiver. 

"I think I'm able to trace the scent. He's here. I'll bring him to you" Czar told me and walked away probably to find the escaped alpha. 

"Where's the alpha leader of this pack" 

An old-looking man walked out of the little crowd, he bowed. 

"My lord– we were all asleep when you arrived..."

"There's an intruder in your pack. I'll hurt no one if you bring him to me within ten minutes. Do not waste my time" I cut him off and he immediately turned to his pack members probably to start questioning them. 

"If you don't bring him out in the next ten minutes, I'll have no choice but to do it the hard way to fish him out, and if I do so, it will not end well,"  my voice was cold and I'm sure it made them shiver. 

With every word I said, the scent kept on getting stronger and stronger. This can only mean one thing. 

Mate. My mate is in this pack. I looked at every face present but the scent wasn't from them.

 

My mate isn't among the people present here

But how can I have a mate, I thought I was going to die without one, as I have lived for a long long time without any mate. My eyes caught with one of the women. No. It isn't her

I glanced at another woman. Not her either.

"Alpha leader.." I called on their alpha. 

"Is there any other person in this pack that is not here right now?" I asked and he returned to his pack members to question them. 

They looked at each other as they all trued to figure out the absent person amongst them. 

I don't want to remain here any longer. 

The longer I waited, the more the scent becomes stronger. 

Czar is taking time to find that bastard. 

I guess I should just find him myself then. 

A small shed at the back of a very big mansion was where the scent of that bastard led me to but there's something I don't understand. 

Why is the scent getting mixed up with that of my mates'?. 

As I got closer to the shed, I made sure that my footsteps were silent, then slowly, I opened the door. 

"There's..there's no one here"

  

I turned swiftly to my right and behold a girl. What the fuck is she doing here when everyone else is gathered. 

I surveyed the entire environment and I looked intently at the girl. Her hair covered parts of her face and I could notice the blood stains on the floor. 

He is here. That bastard is here! . But wait don't tell me?. I scoffed as I stared  at the girl and looked into her eyes.

What?!. The strong scent. It's coming from her.

The moment my eyes met hers. I knew instantly that she was my mate. This is a joke a very bad joke. After six hundred years, the moon goddess decided to lift my punishment and she gave me a mate. 

 My whole body was shaking as I felt a strong connection towards her but I tried to control it.

 

 She was so confused and scared at the same time as she tried to avoid looking at me directly in the eyes but she couldn't help it. She doesn't look like a normal wolf, and I instantly recognized her to be an omega. An omega? I scoffed. How can the moon goddess decide to give me an omega for a mate? Not only that, she looks weak and  beautiful too. 

A beautiful weak omega. 

I need to find that bastard first , then get out of here immediately. 

I can't believe that my mate will be here. In cresentvale. 

I looked around again. There was no sign of him. Where could he be hiding? I shifted my gaze to the girl standing. The shed looked like the house of sheep's only that it was neat and it was made of sticks instead of bricks. 

She noticed that I was staring at the blood on her clothes and she immediately wiped her clothes with her hands and tried to cover it. 

With one swift movement, I grabbed her neck and pinned her to the wall, as I tried so hard not to let her scent engulf me. 

Control yourself Levilah. Control yourself. Find that bastard first and then you can get out of here. 

"Where is he?" I asked with a very raspy voice and she nodded with her eyes shut tight out of fear. 

"I don't know what you're talking about" she replied. 

She was too adamant to give in. I guess she doesn't know me. 

I brought out my dagger. 

"Where is he?" 

It was hard holding her that way. I couldn't control it and I just had to let her go. The connection I felt towards her was so strong So I just pushed her aside. I was still looking around when she suddenly told me where he was. 

"There," she said more like a whisper and she pointed towards the bedside. I dragged her up and pushed her towards where she pointed and she dragged the small bed out of her way and pulled a small handle fixated on the floor and there he is, crouched up in the little space underground. He gasped the moment he saw me and attempted to escape but before he could make any move, I threw my dagger at him...boom, it hit the right spot. He fell with a loud thud on the floor. 

"Bastard," I said and proceed to remove my dagger from his chest. 

Since he is an alpha, it would take some time for him to die. 

At that moment, Czar came in. He carried the half dead alpha on the floor and together we both headed for the door. 

"You're late. " I told him and made for the door but then something drew me closer to the girl again. I walked over to where she laid staring at me weakly. 

She's my mate?. This weak omega is a mate to the powerful Levilah?. 

I crouched to her position and slowly I reached out my hands to push the strands of hair that covered the parts of her face. I need to see her face clearly and the moment I did that, my heart stopped momentarily. 

Wait. I scoffed. This is not possible. She blinked as I looked directly into her eyes. 

How can she look exactly like my mate from six hundred years ago?. 

The moon goddess must be playing a joke on me right?. Her eyes ,and face. 

She looked exactly like her. 

"You..." I managed to let out a single word as I was just speechless. 

Control yourself Levilah!. It's just a look alike. They cannot be the same person. I chided myself and tried to shift my gaze from her but it was impossible. My heart was beating so fast as I looked at her. 

"My mate . You're my mate" I said, my voice sounding more like a whisper. 

She gasped and looked surprised at my outburst. 

"What are you talking about Levilah?. We need to leave here now " Czar told me and I nodded and stood up, then I glanced at her one last time and left.
