Dahlia ~
The imposingly tall Gates of The Kingmaker Academy stood proud in front of me. I turned to my twin sister Sienna to find her equally awed. “I am having second thoughts about this whole thing, Dahlia.” “Its too late to turn back now, and besides we can't turn back,” I said, “you know what's at stake.” Her eyes softened with understanding and then she stepped forward to knock on the gate hoping someone would open it. The gates groaned open before her fist could touch the metal surface, to reveal the most beautiful luscious environment I had ever seen. Perfectly cut grass and hedges, beautiful conifers lined the roads precisely spaced. Flowers of different kinds had butterflies playing on them. And the air… it smelled of wealth, the kind I had never even imagined before. “Do people actually learn here?” Sienna questioned. “Indeed they do,” her answer came in the form of an aged masculine voice. We both gasped simultaneously and turned around to face him. The elderly man approached us from a nearby maze, he held an elegant walking stick and he was well dressed looking very formal in a black tuxedo. “And what are you two young men here for?” He asked, a curious brow was quirked up. For a moment I was stunned at the fact that he was referring to us as young men. But then I remembered the sound of the scissors as I chopped off my luscious silver hair and brought the rest to cover up parts of my forehead and brows and I also remembered the fact that we were dressed in the most boyish clothes we could salvage with bandages bound tightly around our chest to hide the mounds of our breasts. “We are here to enroll in this esteemed Alpha Academy sir,” Sienna had made her voice extremely deep, it sounded so fake to me that it was almost comical. But of course I would not laugh, at least not while this man looked at us with such skepticism. “You are three weeks late, admissions are closed,” The man said. I cursed in my mind. We should have come much earlier! My foster parents recently adopted a young man and he was sent to this particular academy about four weeks ago. We should have entered the trunk of the car and gone with them. But no, Sienna said that idea was too foolish to even consider— it probably was but at least it was better than not getting admitted at all. My foster mother could not take in and they needed someone to become the new Alpha of the family and become the new heir of the family fortune. They had two beautiful and fully capable daughters, but they never saw us as anything good and they treated us like utter trash, it would be over their dead bodies that we would become female Alpha’s. Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder why they had even adopted us in the first place. “However you both seem particularly bright, so I will speak to the Proprietress about your admissions.” the man said. “Please follow me” he added. Relief flooded through my veins as we walked with the man. We followed him to the main building which had several large windows and was made of white marble that appeared ancient, I was curious about how old this academy was. Inside looked even better, luxurious in a way that made one nervous and anticipating. Massive chandeliers hung from vaulted ceilings that were so high I could barely make out the fancy paintings on them. The place was so airy bright with an exotic ambience, beautiful tall palm trees decorated the inside, and rays of sunlight bathed them from the numerous arched windows. I couldn't believe I was going to be studying there for three months! I had not even been there for a day and I was already sure I would miss it, I wanted to live there forever. “Sit here,” the man instructed, gesturing towards two beige chairs stationed just outside a huge fancy white door that looked at lease twenty feet high. Was this place built for giants or something? The man entered the door and after a while, he peeked his head out. “You can both come in, the Proprietress will see you now.” I rose to my feet and followed after Sienna, we entered the office and the Proprietress was seated behind her desk. She looked so menacing and her gaze was scrutinizing and all knowing behind her thickly rimmed glasses. Her hair was scarlet red and some curly strands escaped the ribbon she used to tie her curls up. She also looked very young, around our age, too young to be the Proprietress of this grand school. “They’re in,” Those were the first words she said, never taking her eyes off us. My brows raised in confusion. “What?” the elderly man beside us said, obviously shocked as well. “I said they're in, Vincent, have someone show them around and let them be given their uniforms.” She elaborated. “They’re three weeks behind and they need to settle in fast so they can catch up.” I looked at her with my lips parted in utter confusion, she just gave me an easy wink and gestured for us to follow Vincent. We did as instructed, after all, we had a whole three months to stay here hopefully within that time she would reveal to us why she let us in so easily. Vincent led us through the grand corridors of our new Academy, and I had to consciously remind myself not to gawk at every single thing I saw. “First, I'll show you the dormitories where you'll be staying,” Vincent said. “You’ll find everything you need there, but be mindful—this is not your average academy. Your fellow students are future alpha’s do they tend to be quite unhinged most of the time and there is always a fight for dominance, since there are no girls around they fight over practically everything else, you both seem like calm little Omega’s and that’s too bad because these boys will gulp you up.” I gulped thickly, we were girls, we would be utterly doomed if any of these students discovered our secret. As we walked through the corridors, the air became lighter, filled with faint echoes of laughter and conversation. When we turned a corner, we found ourselves in the recess area— a sprawling courtyard enclosed by tall, ivy-covered walls. Students lounged in small groups on benches and lush green lawns. Several curious gazes turned to our direction as we walked through, though I was sure to keep my head low. They all looked so masculine, my fake boyish attire and the tightly bound bandages around my chest suddenly felt far too fake— we would definitely be the shortest here. And then I saw them. Four young men stood leaning recklessly against the decorated stone fountain in the center of the courtyard, and they immediately commanded attention from everyone. They were too perfect to be real—tall, athletic, and devastatingly handsome in a way that felt almost unfair to everyone else. Each of them radiated confidence and raw power in their own special ways, their polished uniforms fitting them as if they were tailored by gods. One had striking platinum blond hair that caught the sunlight like a halo, his icy blue eyes sharp and calculating. Beside him stood a quiet looking red haired boy with sharp cheekbones and piercing green eyes and full red lips. The last of the group was perhaps the most intimidating of all—a broad-shouldered guy with messy, dark brown hair and a chiseled jawline, his lips set in a near-permanent scowl. Their collective energy was magnetic, dangerous even, and they all looked at us as if they were sizing us up— “Those young men are known as the Vicious Boys.” Vincent’s voice interrupted my train of thoughts and I did not miss the warning in his voice. “You’d do well to stay away from them. They’ve earned their reputation.” I nodded quickly, making a mental note to avoid them. Just as I thought I couldn’t take their intense scrutiny any longer, my heart nearly stopped. My ‘foster’ brother, Kaden, was among them. My foster parents must have a thing for picking up the strangest looking people from wherever. Because there was me and Sienna with our shock of white hair and equally piercing silver eyes and then there was him. He had the softest looking black hair ever and he had the strangest markings on his body — at least the parts I could see. They crawled up his neck like black vines — dark against his olive skin and they resembled curse sigils, corrupting his body. One of the vines ran across his face corrupting his left eye and turning it pale blue which contrasted with the hazel of his other eye. He stood slightly apart from the others, his tall, lean muscular frame was relaxed and his sharp eyes pinned on us. His brows furrowed and his eyes narrowed slightly as his head tilted in recognition. My stomach twisted with uprising dread. He knows. He has to fucking know— we were utterly screwed — we had to avoid him at all costs.Dahlia ~ I turned away quickly, silently praying to the Moon Goddess that Kaden wouldn’t connect the dots. He had only seen us for a fleeting moment after our parents brought him home before he was sent off to this school and besides, how rare was it to see two short boys with silver hair?“Let’s move along,” Vincent said his tone clipped, as he picked up his pace as if he had better places to be— he probably did. I didn’t need to be told twice. We reached the dormitories shortly after we passed the break area. The building was enormous, divided into wings for each student class ranked by strength. Vincent led us up a grand spiral staircase to the third floor and down a polished hallway before stopping at a heavy oak door.I did not bother myself with asking why we were at the wing for the strongest students. We were late so there probably wasn’t enough space in the other wings to accommodate us.“These will be your quarters,” he said, pushing the door open to reveal a spacious ro
Kaden ~These girls were so fucking dumb! What on earth were they doing in this den of dangerous wolves? And now they would be sharing a room with me these wild animals.I despised these boys, in fact, everyone hated everyone in this school, but cliques and packs had to be formed for added protection from more dangerous people.Anyone without a pack here was seen as an easy target for others to use to prove themselves and instill fear on others. We were all cruel, of course I was not excluded. The clique that currently ruled the school— The Vicious boys— had dragged me and forced me to be their alpha because everyone could feel the sheer power that emanated from me the very moment I stepped into the school. They needed me on their side because they knew if I entered any other pack they would instantly be dethroned from their spot as Alphas of Alphas.I liked the violence they brought to the school, it ignited my overabundamt reserves of adrenaline and I was able to let out years of a
Dahlia ~“So what are you telling me?” Sienna asked me with one brow arched up in suspicion. “I’m not loosing my virginity to these mindless savages!”“Oh come on! Do you want to get fucking caught? Our virginities are nothing compared to what is at stake!” I whisper yelled. We were in the bathroom of our dorm room and we had to practically skip a class to have this conversation in private.“We won't get caught, Kaden is just trying to get into our pants cant you see that?” She countered. “Our scents aren't half as strong as that.”“Not yet, but soon enough it will get stronger and we won't be able to control it and by then it would be too late already.”After a pause, Sienna slid against the wall until she was fully seated on the floor with her face in her palms.“I hate my life!” she cried.“Me too, but we have to—”I was interrupted by the sound of voices in the dorm room. Were they back already? Classes weren't over until an hour at least so what the fuck were they doing here?“We
Kaden ~ “Well, not exactly fuck fuck, you could use our mouths and hands,” Dahlia said and Sienna, Obviously the more reasonable one, realized this foolishness for what it was and she stayed quiet. What could be their reason to go through such lengths? If they knew what I planned to do with their pretty bodies they wouldn't have dared propose this. But unfortunately for them, they did, and I would make sure they regretted every fucking moment. Yes, I was a hate filled bastard that yearned to make everyone around me hateful as well. I would make their lives hell.I knew what they were the moment they made mention of needing blood, Scarvyns, blood sucking witches. I was repulsed to say the least. But these goons obviously did not care about what they even were. “Fuck yeah!” Silas said with a crazed smirk on his face. “I always thought you both were smoking hot but now,” he leaned down to toy with a strand of Dahlia’s hair, “as girls, you're even better… I'm taking the first ro
Sienna ~Orion’s blood was sweeter than anything I had ever tasted in my life, my head spun as my nails sunk even deeper into his skin, tearing flesh and drawing blood.I knew I would regret doing this by morning, but I honestly couldn't care less, I was turned on beyond belief… and those deep sounds that erupted from the back of his throat were not helping matters at all.Scarvyn venom was powerful, and these alphas were no match, no matter how deadly or dangerous they were, they would become ours now, unable to harm us and bound to protect us because we were the only ones who could give them this feeling.I sank my fangs even deeper and my legs wrapped around his waist while his hands snaked down to grab my ass roughly. I could feel the hot bulge of his desire against my skin but I ignored it… I had to… or else I would lose my mind and do something I would definitely regret in the morning. His hand slid inward, nearly touching my most sacred parts—“That's enough,” that was Silas’s
Dahlia ~“I can't believe this is what our life has come to,” Sienna wailed as we headed to class.I truly did not want to be reminded of the previous night.“Can you stop wailing for once and just focus, you're not the only one going through shit,” I whispered as a group of males rushed past us, nearly knocking me over. “Hey!” I protested and the male turned back to give a wink and a middle finger to both of us.I rolled my eyes, I was getting used to their lack of morals.“We don't have to do it for like another week or so,” Sienna said. I turned to her and arched a brow in question. “Kaden said we needed to get fucked to reduce our pheromones, but he obviously overestimated it, the blowjobs were more than enough to do that, and it should be about a week from now before our pheromone levels rise again,” Sienna said. Dahlia did not like the sudden flutter of butterflies in her belly at the mention of his name. Not butterflies— roaches… she tried to convince herself.“As long as
Dahlia ~“So the first training is the Dominance and Leadership Training, as Alpha’s you need to learn how to take control of your packs. This involves learning conflict resolution, establishing authority, and commanding obedience even under pressure,” Naima explained. Then she pointed to the words projected behind her. “Next is Hunting and Tracking, you will be trained to lead packs, stalking prey, and organizing group attacks.”She kept explaining, number three was combat and self defense training, we would engage in physical training in both human and wolf forms, focusing on hand to hand combat training. How on earth were we supposed to fight in wolf forms? I let out a heavy exhale… we will cross that bridge when we get there.Number four was pack bonding, here we would participate in mock rituals under the full moon to increase the connection between pack members. We would participate in three tests after the training. Territory defense, crisis, and survival. They sounded impo
Dahlia ~The sound of movement around me dragged me from my slumber, and I groaned as Sienna stirred in the bed beside me.“Wake up,” she muttered, but her voice was thick with exhaustion. “I think we’re late.”My eyes peeled open to see that she had gotten up to make her bed. It was way too early for all this.It was barely even first light.“You mean ‘late’ as in a little late,” I said, dragging the words out, “or late as in we’re screwed?”Sienna glanced at me pointedly, her short hair wild. “Considering I just saw Aurelian and Silas walk out the door fully dressed, I’m guessing we’re screwed.”She wasn’t wrong. By the time I slid out of bed, the others were almost ready. To my right, Kaden stood near his bed, buttoning up a black shirt that fit him entirely too well. I caught glimpses of hard muscle beneath the fabric, the cursed black markings twisting over his skin glimmered as though tiny stars lived within them. And then there was Orion. He leaned against the wall as he waited
DahliaThe spell worked, thank the goddess! But we had not teleported far enough, we were outside the school gates.“Find them!” A voice shouted from inside the school.Shit.Sienna grabbed my hand, and we ran. The cold night air stung my face and rocks pierced my raw feet, but adrenaline dulled the pain. We barely made it a few feet before a glossy black limousine pulled up beside us.The door swung open. There was no time to hesitate. Sienna dove in.But just as I was about to do the same, I felt something that made me glance back. That was when I saw him.The unmistakable silhouette of Kaden stood on the roof of the school, the moonlight turned his new white hair silver. His mismatched eyes practically glowed in the darkness. He stared at me like he was marking me, branding me, his gaze held a hunger that frightened me right to my soul—“Dahlia get in!” Sienna yanked me inside, and the door slammed shut. The car sped off.I pressed my back against the seat, trying to catch my brea
Dahlia ~“So where is it?” Naima questioned as her gaze flicked between us. “Let me see the gemstone.”I froze as shame colored my cheeks.Sienna coughed. “Uh… it’s inside of Dahlia.”Naima blinked. Then, with the straightest face, she said, “Oh, never mind.”I resisted the urge to shrivel into the floor.“Moving on.” She folded her arms across her full chest. “I need to teach you both a teleportation spell.”Sienna frowned. “Why would we need that?”“Because this school is a fortress,” Naima said. “It’s guarded by werewolves trained in the previous king’s army. And there is nothing more terrifying than an extremely powerful, highly skilled warrior holding a gun.”Fair point.Naima continued. “Since you both have royal blood, your magic is naturally stronger than that of regular Scarvyns, but power is nothing without control. You need to hone your skills before you can cast anything stronger than mere teleportation spells.”“When was the last time you fed?” she asked.I thought for a
Dahlia ~They would easily track us with the shirt, plus the scent of my blood was so strong because of all the cuts on my feet. The footsteps were right outside the cathedral now. Sienna snatched the stone from its spot and handed it to me. I looked at her with confusion in my gaze.“You need to shove it down your vagina,” she said.“What? That's the best you could come up with?” I grabbed it from her hand.“Have any other plans? My pockets are too exposed and the gemstone could fall out at any moment, plus, I'm too dressed to shove it into my—“Fine… just give me a second,” I pulled my pants down.Luckily, the gemstone was rather small, about a quarter of a fist. But it was still too large as nothing had ever entered me before through that entrance. My fingers ran through my folds and I realized just how treacherous my body was when I found them wet. I momentarily hated myself. The gemstone slid in easily and it was properly nested when the doors were busted open.Kaden strolle
Dahlia ~“Kaden, Orion, Aurelian, Silas, Theo and Caleb.” The instructor called. All students were gathered once again at the training fields, it wasn't even dawn yet and I had barely managed to get enough sleep the previous night because of how irritable Kaden was, he intentionally bumped into me so many times that I feared I might have developed a concussion. He was such a sore loser. And when it was finally time to go to sleep, my duvet was nowhere to be found. Now, everyone else was fully dressed yet my training gear AND my uniforms were discovered missing this morning. I would kill the son of a bitch, slowly, ensuring he felt every single agonizing moment, and then I will kill ALL werewolves, they were all vile creatures that did not deserve breath.A shiver racked through my body as I stood bare foot on the grass, wearing nothing but my skimpy silk pajamas.Yes, my shoes were missing too.I was lucky he left my chest bandages. Otherwise one look at me and everyone would know
Kaden ~“I would kill that fucking bitch! Strangle her until there is nothing left in her but audacity, and then I will squash that as well.” Anger welled up in my veins even more as thoughts of what she had just done ran through my mind's eye. “So what exactly is pissing you off right now?” Orion asked as we entered the dorm room. I was once again assaulted by her scent. Of all the scents in the room… hers, hers penetrated my nostrils and branded itself in my brain, never to be forgotten. This was fucking torture.“Is it the fact that she won you, or the fact that you can't get her out of your mind? If it's the latter, losing to women isn't as bad as you think.” Orion continued.“What?” I asked, looking up at him sharply. “Who the fuck are you, and what have you done with Orion?” I questioned and he lifted his arms in surrender with a small smile playing on his face.“I have to admit, Sienna’s witchery or whatever it's called might be getting to me, but I love it, you know, I want
Dahlia ~“I really think you should stop getting on his nerves so often,” Sienna muttered as we strolled through the dimly lit hallway toward the dining hall. Her voice carried a half-joking, half-serious tone.“It’s not completely my fault,” I replied, flicking a strand of hair out of my face. “He’s utterly insufferable. I hate him, I hate all of them.”“How couldn’t you?” Sienna sighed. “I’ve been trying to hide how much they disgust me.”I clenched my jaw. “It’s getting harder to pretend I don’t want to set this entire school on fire with everyone in it.”The words had barely left my mouth when we rounded the corner and ran straight into some students. Four of them… it was a pack. The Alpha stood in the middle and his sneer was instant. He shoved Sienna so hard and she hit the ground with a thud that echoed through the hallway.“Watch it, dimwits,” he said with a voice that dripped with disdain, “You both reek of abominations.”My blood boiled instantly. I grabbed Sienna’s arm a
Dahlia ~ I searched around for Kaden for about a minute and I was starting to get irritated, why did he make me search for him? I considered approaching Naima and demanding for a partner change, but I knew the likelihood of that happening was low because everyone was already paired up— My thought processes came to a halt when I bumped into hard wall, the force knocked the air out if my lungs and sent me flying to the floor. What the—An imposing shadow covered the light of the sun and I looked up to see Kaden, his mismatched eyes glaring down at me with delight at causing me pain.He did not make a single attempt to help me as I scampered to my feet. His broad shoulders appeared stiff, and his dark hair curled at the edges, just messy enough to make him look dangerously good… as usual.“Are you just going to stand there?” I asked as I crossed my arms.He tilted his head slightly, his piercing eyes locking onto mine. “What do you want, Caleb?” His voice was low, rough, and so calm
Sienna ~“Well, unfortunately, they’re our roommates,” I heard Dahlia say. Naima’s sharp eyes widened at us like we’d just confessed to treason. She sighed dramatically and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Roommates. Of course, the goddess loves to be entertained?”“There’s nothing we can do about it,” Dahlia said with a shrug like this was just another Tuesday.Naima raised a brow, lips curling in disbelief. “Have you fed on them yet?”I froze mid-breath. Dahlia, too. The air suddenly felt too thick.Naima’s gaze darted between us, her face twisting with frustration as understanding dawned. “Oh, for the love of—” She let out a string of curses so creative I was impressed. My brow also arched in confusion.“But—” I started, “in our defense, you told us to find males to feed on.”“Yes,” she hissed, waving her hand like I was missing the point. “Males. Could have been anyone, not them.”Her glare could’ve burned through steel.“You two listen to me,” she said, her tone icy and low. “Th
